it force closes when you tap play again.
Force Closes on run again and crashes at random times during running
Galaxy Nexus LTE - AOKP build 28
I'm going to try other roms to see if its just a ROM issue, the game is HIGHLY addictive thats for sure. I like how much more responsive it is compared to the iOS version, much better on Android but the crashing is troublesome
Yep, Crashes occasionally, but I think thy will fix it shortly. Great game tho.
It runs brilliantly on CodeName Android 1.5.5. for me!

That a one thing I hate about android, almost every app and game aren't in HD its like you have a nexus for no reason.

crack
is not HD and it cracks everytime.... need a fix right now ¡¡¡¡
but a really great game
It runs fine overall. But it seems laggy when you are running fast (i.e >5000m)
I found out that instead of pressing "run again", if you press the "back" button the game tends to crash a lot less.
see if this works for you too.
I haven't had any fcs but I have had it randomly close out. Also, I noticed it holds a wake lock on orientation and magnetic sensors (which drains battery) even when its not open and not even showing a process in task manager. That alone pretty much made me uninstall it. Great game from what I played tho. Definitely gonna reinstall once they squash some bugs
Temple Run not showing in Google Play from phone
I tried to install Temple Run by visiting the Google Play store directly from the app on my Galaxy Nexus, but could not see the app in the store that way.
By pulling up the Google Play store on my desktop machine I was able to see and install the Temple Run app to my Galaxy Nexus.
I have tried the game a few times but it force closes every time I try play again or main menu after a run.
My questions to the xda community
1. why would the Temple Run game not show up in the play store on my device?
2. could the answer to 1 involve stability issues with the game on the device?
Device: Galaxy Nexus
Carrier: Verizon, 4G LTE
OS: Stock Android 4.0.2, ICL53F

1) I also couldn't find in the Play Store on my GNex, but I found if you search "Imangi Studios" instead of "temple run" the game pops up in the results.
2) It's more likely that since it had just come out, Play Store might not be showing the App in its top 100 results since they are a lot of apps with "temple" in its name, which has been downloaded a lot more, and thus is getting pushed up in the results when you search "temple run"
its in the play store its just pretty far down the list.

Today it's a lot better
Probably it will be on the top of the list pretty soon
****WARNING, THIS BREAKS MARKET FOR SOME APPS AND CAUSES YOU NOT TO BE ABLE TO DOWNLOAD SOME APPS**** see bottom of this post for the fix.
Example on my phone running in Tablet UI.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Im9WV9GmQFc
Required:
ROOT
A file manager that supports root (Like ES File Explorer)
Wouldn't try this on stock software/launcher, but let me know how it goes.
Note: It makes things a bit hard to read, even if you make the font "Huge" in the settings.
1. Create a backup of your phone.
2. In ES File Explorer, go to the SYSTEM folder.
3. Open build.prop with the ES Note Editor.
4. Change the line ro.sf....LCD Density to =160.
5. Save. Reboot phone.
Ta da, tablet mode. This may work on other phones too, but as tested it requires a lower number for lower resolution phones which may make it impossible to read/use.
If you have a Nexus 7 Tablet, use =170.

Wont a resolution other then 160-240-320 break the market? Some apps will not show up for non standard DPI I think. Not sure.
Also I used this yesterday, as I tried to download Cut the Rope HD, even if that didn't work. I was surprised what 160DPI did to my phone. One X international.
Anyway confirming this works on the One X for me with CM10.
But if you find a way how to switch it without the use of DPI change let me know . Something like the paranoidandroid project.
I found few guides, but they do not apply to my phone. Or I do not know where those files are to decompile them.

Use your regular DPI, download your apps, then switch the DPI. #winning.
Cut the Rope HD (Lite) shows up in the market for my Nexus 7 Tablet (DPI set to 170, stock is 270.. i think). Going to test with S3, i'll update in a few with my findings.
Changed DPI to 160 on the S3 and went to the Market, Cut The Rope HD lite is listed, installed fine and runs perfectly fine.
So i have a DPI of 170 and a dpi of 160, market working on both devices, unless you have a full list of apps I can test, doesn't seem to affect anything. If so, just do what I said above. Should get around the issue.

That did not work for me. Once market gets the wrong DPI, some apps wont show up. Last time I tried I ended up with Nandroiding back. Even clear Data and Cache didn't work.
The lite shows up everywhere ... Thats not the issue The one on sale HD doesnt and it says I have no compatible phone with that.

I love this game and it worked great on my old tablet but for some reason this version has cannot be installed on my Google Nexus 7. I tried the HD lite version and it says it's compatible but not the one I've already paid for.
That gets me wondering, because it says ALL my devices are incompatible (S3, Nexus 7, Nexus S and Nexus One). The Nexus S and One are unmodified. I'm wondering if this is one of a select few apps that are affected? I can download Asphalt 7 no problem at all on both devices (Nexus 7 and GS3)

I think you misunderstood me there completely or I confused you there a bit.
1. Forget the Cut the rope HD. It has nothing to do with the problem is anything of the problem. I just mentioned it because it was the reason for which I changed my DPI to test if can download it.
They have trouble with it on Nexuses etc. As said, I wanted to test it only with it, I couldn't download it before as well. (was for it also changing device name etc, making myself to Xoom, Eeepad etc)
2. Using not standard DPI indeed breaks market , but for example apps like Beautiful Widgets, HD Widgets that I remember.
3. I would rather go another approach, if not using paranoidandroid. And the tweaks to the java files. Maybe we could use bigger fonts. Not sure how that would look like though

Anyone know the best way of getting that Windows look for our device? I would like to get it as close as possible to an actual windows 7 phone.
Currently I've been searching around the market and downloading apps, such as Launcher7(windows 8 ran slower), Messaging 7, and WP7 lock for the lock screen. Basically i've smashed 5 or 6 different apps to get a windows 7 look, does anyone know of an easier way of getting the windows ui? Thanks.

Yea, i figured someone would say it.. Windows isn't as good as android, obviously, but I do like the UI.
Thanks anyway.
You can install miui use one of the many wp7/themes and use launcher7. They do have launcher 8 but I find it not very efficient at least not last I used it. Also they probably have wp7 theme for cm10/aokp etc roms if you do Google search

Thanks for the response.
Also, i agree with the Launcher 8, seems that it not only runs slower, but also slows the entire phone down, unfortunately.
Did google miui wp7, as well as themes for cm10/aokp, but just having a bunch of different themed apps seems to be the closest I can get to what i want at the moment. Oh well.
Thanks
Is it possible without needing to install a ROM? What I basically want is the ability to have the dockbar move to the bottom of the screen when I rotate it to landscape instead of staying on the short side like it currently does. I want my dockbar always along the bottom edge of the screen no matter what position I'm holding the tablet. Currently no launchers that I know of allow this as an option. Any ideas that don't involve ROMs?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2418867
This should do that until a new mods gets released .
You have to be rooted for this mod to work.
Hope that helps.

I don't think real tablet UI has a dock. And a launcher like apex would give you the option to disable the dock like in larger tablets.
if you want true tablet ui, buy an iPad mini
What exactly do you mean with real tablet UI - the failed UI experiment from google in the past?
The N7 has the current tablet UI.

The current N7 uses the phablet ui. He means the honeycomb like ui. Whether you consider it failed or not does not matter some (me included) prefer it.

I prefer that tablet ui too... would love some insight if tablet ui is possible at all in a CarbonRom.
I like the Honeycomb look better as well. My biggest issue is that all of the apps from the play store are downloaded as the phone version, not the tablet version. I bought a tablet to have tablet apps, not phone apps - I don't care that the screen is only 7".
Honeycomb ui works fine for a tablet all operations takes place below the screen. Unlike this new ui were you always have to reach the notification area
Most other android tablets ( like galaxy tab, acers and others) Have the tabletUI (honeycomb or whatever the hell you wanna call it)
Why? Because with the way you hold your tablet, its way easier to hit the buttons and swipe where you need to with that setup.
At least it would be nice to have the option to change it.
I use guest profiles and what not so i cannot use the method posted above
Hopefully we will get tablet UI on stock somehow working good....
hmm... the older I get, the lazier i get to mess with roms
I would install ParanoidAndroid if I were to flaSH....

When people don't buy apps that devs spent lots of effort on, its discouraging.

It's nothing to do with the devs. It's the way the play store sees the nexus 7. USA today has a tablet version of their app. Directv has a tablet version. On the galaxy tab 8.9 for instance, I could get those. Maybe it's something to do with build.prop?

You DO get tablet apps if you want. Changes in DPI determine app layout. PA lets you choose DPI on an app to app basis without trashing your market. Meaning modifications to build.prop are broad and make your market think you are a tablet which for some apps is bad, so they don't do that.

In most cases yes. However (for whatever reason) some companies/developers choose to publish two separate apps to the Play Store - one for phones and one for tablets, and unless your device is identified as a tablet the tablet version of the app is marked as incompatible (and the phone version doesn't include the tablet layout so it isn't available by dpi/layout changes).
Again, however, this is something that the app devs should be sorting - provide one apk that contains all layouts and the problem is solved (because then you can use PA or whatever to use whichever layout you like).

That is odd considering any Googling I do on the subject brings up endless stories about how the game was specifically coded to be a showcase app for the new Nexus 7. I mean, the game FLIES on my Note 2, if they have to fudge the res a bit that's fine but otherwise I will be disgusted if a 2013 Nexus 7 can't play Asphalt 8 like butter.

Notice how it still helps because it means the hardware is capable of playing the game. I am in the process of re-installing it from scratch, then I will try other things. One thing that Android games *really* need to jump on is old school pc-like video settings, so we can manually set resolution and tweak every single thing possible for framerate. For most games this Nexus 7 flies, but it is over-reaching the res on a power hungry engine.

If you have AdFree or some other ad blocking app you will have to revert back. Some how blocking ads makes asphalt unplayable. Also blocking ads affects the best buy app and some mobile websites and makes those unusable too.

I restored a Titanium Backup of Asphalt 8 from my old device and didn't encounter any crashes playing it so far (nexus 7 2013, kitkat 4.4.2). However my cloud save is still linked to the old device and it asks me to choose cloud or local data every single time I start the game, which is bl**dy annoying!
Interesting to see people commenting about the frame rate - I got a slimport adapter yesterday and tried a few games on my 1080p monitor - most of them were pretty smooth, but Asphalt 8 was quite laggy. I haven't updated to the freemium version yet so I don't know if the current build is a bit more optimised.
Doesnt run on KITKAT
I have tried several times, but it always crashes on kitkat:crying:
I fixed the lagging of Asphalt 8 in my Nexus 7 2013
Other than Asphalt other apps had also slowed down, so I found a link that spoke about cleaning up or rather wiping the cache partition, which has restored the speed on my tablet. Just Google nexus 7 lagging after 4.4 update, there's an article on wiping cache partition. Hope this helps everyone still searching.
