Does AAA keys marry other data on phone? Like... MEID, MDN, etc... - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Will someone please tell me if the AAA keys are married to the other data on a phone. Like the MEID, MIN, MDN and such?
Thank you,
John

##778# doesnot work on branded telus 3050 touch

If anyone has any idea how to get to the point where you have to enter the msl # (which I already have) please post it here.
Thank you
wat r u trying to do?
You may try the following
##778 [SEND]
##778# [SEND]
On some network/device, this one might work
##DATA#
or if you're trying to program your phone ##MSL# should do it, replacing MSL with your actually MSL Code.
Some device/network might work with # at the end of the command, some might need an extra [SEND] to be press
##778 does not work
Thank you for your help.I was not clear what I wanted to do
here I was not clear is a post from ppcgeeks19-FIX THE SLOW RINGER
To do this, you will need your MSL, which only Sprint (or your provider) can provide you. Open up the phone app and dial ##778# (PST). You will be asked to enter your MSL. Enter it, and you will be brought into the provisioning of your phone. From the top left, select Modem Settings. On this page, your Slot Cycle Index (SCI) is how often your phone polls the tower for incoming calls, etc. This value is 1.28 seconds multiplied by 2^value (i.e 0=1.28 secs, 1=2.56secs) with 0 fastest, 7 slowest. The default is 2, but lowering it to 1 hasn't noticeably affected my battery life, and roughly 2.5 second (SCI 1) response time is far more reasonable than roughly 5 seconds (SCI 2)
hope this helps Thank you
IC...
I've tried this 'hack' but didn't notice any difference .... and for the record, I'm w/ Bell
u might have better luck in a telus-based community.... try this one

##778 followed by send works for me. I couldn't get it to work for the longest time (using ##778# Send) but it now works everytime with ##778.
Same problem. ##778 [send], ##778# [send], ##3282 [send], ##3282# [send] ect..... None of these work. I have a Sprint Touch. I actually need to get to this menu to fix some other issues (error code 67 and 1012). I got my MSL number from sprint, but i cant get to this menu. Anyone else have this problem and care to help me out? Thanks.

My Sprint Touch works with ##DATA# (no need to hit send)
So, ##3282# should work for you.

I must be missing something really stupid here. Press talk to open phone dialer, type in ##3282# and the menu should just come up? Ive done this on my last phone (a900) and it worked. As soon as i hit the last # the "service" menu just came up. But nothing on the Touch. WTF. Anyone else have this issue?

Thats it. You're doing it right. Only other suggestion is give the phone a soft reboot. Maybe there's something in memory causing problems.

L A M E .
Called into sprint and had the glorious opportunity to talk to someone that just passed ESL. (english as a second language) Told them my problem, that i tried a client initiated IOTA update, soft resets ect. They instantly told me to reset the device. Got to an actual tech and they were stumped.
I pressed ##3282# and NOTHING happened. They were speechless leaving me no choice but to hard reset. ****. Gotta spend some time pulling off programs / files / reg settings and reset the beotch. I did get a nift number from them though, well, 2 actually. My MSL number (concidering having it engraved in my phone), and a higher tier direct tech support number.
877-809-6696 - Give it a shot if you need it.
Ill update on the progress. Cheers.

##data# edit menu password anyone???

Trying to edit some things on the epst. What is the default password for ##data# then edit? Thanks
there is no 'default', every phone has a different one and its called MSL code
see thread on how to retreive yours, or try calling sprint customer service to request it from them.

I used that thread to get mine. Very quick and easy.
Or you can call sprint and ask for your msl. They will generally give it to you if you ask.
Or if you have a backup phone, you can do an online esn change. Change once, and then back and it will tell you the msl
worked great for me, just getting around to finding my MSL. I did it on an XP laptop and the device was named HTC Diagnostic and not the HTC USB modem.

[Q] How to Re-configure 1x data connection

Hi, is there anyway to reconfigure the 1x data connection username and password on the Verizon HTC Incredible?
Are these settings in the NAM somewhere rather than in the OS like in WM?
Thanks!
Edit: Think it's through ##778. I'll try in the morning. It's 0230hrs here.

yep. ##778 to get to the settings. you need to be on a sense based rom with EPST.apk in the system/app folder
Unfortunately no. PST doesn't have any settings for the username and password for you data account.
Where would that be located?
that's true, Nik. There is no setting for UN and PW in PST. Anyone knows where else to look.

What network are you trying to do this for? Why do you only have a 1x and not 3g connection? Just curious.
well the phone has both 1x and EVDO but I'm trying to get the 1x working first.

##778# is the only way / place i know of to put programing. Data info should mostly be in M.IP Default Profile. Your user name in NAI and DUN NAI and the password in HA and AA Shared Secret.
I checked but the MIP parameters are if the cdma network is configured with data roaming. We use no roaming - Simple IP (SIP) instead of Mobile IP (MIP). Most parameters under MIP settings are for just that, MIP.
found this on the web. seems legit but still didn't work for me. some setting is still not right.
Step 1: Reprogramming your phone
from your phone, dial ##pst (##778) - Press Call
click "edit mode"
enter security code 000000
scroll down to M.IP Settings
change MIP Mode to Simple IP only
hit back
scroll down to Security
change the "HDR AN AUTH User Id (LONG) to "proper TATA username"
change the "HDR AN AUTH Password (LONG) to "proper TATA password"
change the "PPP User Id to "proper TATA username"
change the "PPP Password to "proper TATA password"
change the "S.IP DUN Username to "proper TATA password"
hit back
press menu, choose "Commit Modifications."
The phone will power cycle.

The issue may be the passwords. They are ment to be encrypted i believe, at least they are in my settings. Here is an example of what my password field looks like ( í…*É1‚¤].VDW.ö¾ ), i have no clue how you would go about encrypting them, and most of the characters are not on the phones keyboard to type it in if you could encrypt it. I suppose you could use qpst on a pc to be able to enter the characters, but still no clue how to encrypt it.
Also S.IP DUN Username should be your tata user name not password as you stated above. My user name fields looks like this ( [email protected] ), and the dun one is ( [email protected] ). Hope that helps some how, just throwing stuff out there.
ok, confirming. It's working now. I just had to configure the PPP UN and PW to get the 1x working.
Hi again, now that the 1x is working fine does anyone know any specific configs to make the EVDO work?

[Q] Sprint Galaxy S3 on Boost

I will gladly provide a tutorial after I am done doing this. The only problem I have is getting the MMS to work and getting the 3G to work, I have voice and sms done. I know how to fix the 3G just need a little help with it. This is what I have to change to get 3G working. Now for the password do I need to use the aaa from the donor phone or from the galaxy? Also another problem I think I might have created. I typed in ##Data# on the phone dialpad. I entered the spc, then I went into the aaa password and I deleted it. Did the same for the ha password. So if those are needed how do I recover them? As for the donor phone I can still get the aaa and ha passwords, as I have not messed with anything on it.

Help with data settings when flashing Cricket handsets to other carriers.

So I'm trying to flash Cricket's Samsung Vitality (R720) to a non-US carrier. Everything is fine except for the data settings. For the NAI and PPP settings, it uses a different number than the MDN. This number is a code (5 digits) plus the MDN. The problem is that all Cricket handsets take just MDN numbers (10 digits only) for the NAI and PPP settings. Whenever it exceeds 10 digits for the MDN portion of the NAI and PPP, it reverts back to a default number upon reboot. For example, on cricket a normal PPP number would be [email protected]. For this other carrier, the MDN would be [email protected]. What can I do so that I can permanently enter anything I want on the PPP and NAI fields?
