"Description
Timely is the beautiful Alarm Clock for Android, featuring a stunning user experience and revolutionary cloud integration to backup and synchronize your alarms with multiple devices.
Setting an alarm has never been easier: Just swipe from the edge of the screen and set the desired time by dragging a bar. Tap to make adjustments of 5 minutes.
Beautiful wake-up experience: Hand-crafted, high quality sounds and our innovative Smart Rise feature transform waking up in the morning into pure delight.
Your taste, your style: Choose from our gorgeous color themes to match your very own style. Or use our design-tool to create an all-new look. Select one of our hand-crafted designer clocks to fit your taste.
Never get up late again: Use challenges with your alarms to make sure you are really awake when dismissing an alarm. Think pressing buttons is not fancy enough? Turn your phone to snooze it. Additionally, Timely recognizes when you lift your phone and reduces the alarm intensity by lowering the volume.
Connecting your devices: Manage, dismiss and snooze alarms on all your devices at once. Cloud synchronization enables a seamless experience across phones and tablets. As a plus, everything gets backed up.
Ready, Set, Go: Use our stopwatch to measure time with style. And setting a countdown is as easy as winding up a kitchen timer.
Designed for tablets: No matter what kind of device you own, Timely just looks perfect.
More: Widget, Google Now integration, recurring alarms, awesome animations, adaptive snoozing, fade-in, DashClock extension, volume buttons to snooze.
Out of the box, Timely is a free app that shows ads after 5 days. If you choose to go pro (in app purchase), you will get all current and future premium content. "

does this cause extra battery drain if u don[t use it and don't force stop it? how do change the default ringer sounds?
it doesn't have a set alarm for each day of the week? and you can't put in custom ringers i don't think

It works just like a normal alarm clock, I don't notice any battery overly drain. When you set up an alarm, tap on it and it will expand others settings including the sounds. Remember this is a third party app so it's sounds are related to the media, not the system notification.

I first used Timely on my S4, and so of course I have it on my N7Flo. I love being able to set alarms for my other device from either one. It's great if I'm on the tab and remember then to set my alarms while I'm just browsing around or whatever, and don't have to screw with my phone or fish it out.
I just wish you could use the same analog clock from the main app screen as a widget. It's gorgeous. I'd love to have that on my lock or home.

Timely as a live wallpaper ?

Does anyone knows how to set Timely alarm clock as a live wallpaper ?

Applications & Widgets for the Galaxy Nexus (What's Your Favorite?)

I've decided to start this thread because like others I'm always looking for new Applications & Widgets for my device. With the massive amount of Application releases each day it's quite time consuming to constantly keep up to date let alone test out each of these.
With that said, what are some Applications / Widgets you simply cannot live without? Those that look good on the homescreen / lockscreen / etc.
If you'd like to include a screenshot with your post as well that'd be great, let's build a good list for people who aren't familiar with all the Applications the Android Market has to offer!
--
With that said I'd have to put Poweramp in the list, it's simply the best Application for music with a ton of options.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.maxmpz.audioplayer.unlock
(Currently on sale in the market this weekend for $1.99 as opposed to the $4.99 normal price tag)
Hmm... I'd have to say mClock for the aesthetics and simple calendar widget for functionality and aesthetics. And Android pro Widgets rule too...

Quite simple really...
1.) Just download the image you want to look up.
2.) Edit that image to crop out unnecessary details.
3.) Upload that image to Google Image Search.
4.) Profit.

Sure. Here you go. I edited the Mario one so that there is more black space to align with homescreens properly. Added an extra one for fun. These images aren't mine... I found these on the "post your homescreen thread" here at XDA.
Just started using WidgetLocker these past few days, seems it's transitioned into more of a stable application for the Nexus. I'm having no noticeable lag at this time.
WidgetLocker Lockscreen
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker
My must-have apps/widgets would be:
BeWeather Pro - very nice weather app with an assortment of widget sizes that can be skinned via BeWeather skins OR Beautiful Widget skins.
PlayerPro - Music app that I absolutely love. Has a fantastic GUI, great sound quality and the dev is very responsive. I've tried just about every music app out there and this is one fits my musical needs best.
XiiaLive - Awesome internet radio station app that plays Shoutcast stations. Use this to blast my internet dance radio stations through my car stereo while having my Gnex paired to it via Bluetooth).
Equalizer (by Smart Android Apps) - Great EQ app that I use to have equalized sound in the various music apps on my phone (PlayerPro, Google Music, XiiaLive, Digitally Imported, etc.).
CarHome Ultra - Fantastic app that takes care of the problem of Samsung taking forever-and-a-day to release their stupid official car dock for the Gnex by having the option to automatically put my phone in car mode when my phone connects to my car stereo over Bluetooth. Love this app!
gReader Pro - Best RSS reader I've found that can access Google Reader feeds. Again, tried many, many various RSS apps out there and this one stomps them all (for my needs anyway).
Nova Launcher - Takes the native ICS launcher and kicks it up a notch with some very nice extra features. Kinda funny/sad that it does a better job with controlling lag when using the stock ICS Live Wallpapers than Google's own native launcher.
Pure Calendar - Skinnable widget that can pull my Google Calendar and Touchdown Exchange calendar data together and display them all very nicely in a scrollable widget. The dev of the "Pure" series of apps/widgets really does a great job with all of the apps in this line.
iSyncr - Fantastic app that allows me to sync my iTunes-based playlists on my iMac to my Gnex. Also has a companion app to do the syncing wirelessly.
Google Voice - For all the options it gives to deal with voicemail messages, spam calls/texts, not to mention free texting! Been using this since it became available and I think I'd pretty much die without it now. haha
WiFi File Explorer Pro - Handy app that allows me to access my phone from my computer over my home wifi network.
----------------------
Sorry if this list it a bit long but these are all the apps I use regularly and would dearly miss if they were to go away.

Hey man I tried sending you a message but apparently XDA is real screwy and need to get some bugs fixed. anyway...I was wondering how you got the mclock widget to resize to fit the nexus' screen. I used the .xml file from Red X but he made the width 420 so it shows up really small on the nexus screen. If you could let me know how to resize it, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.

All-in-one alarm/timer/countdown app?

Does anyone know if there is a alarm/timer/countdown app that will work nicely on Jelly Bean? I'm thinking of something along what iOS has, and I understand some HTC phones have something similar.
That would save me having multiple apps/icons and would just be "neater".
Many thanks.

I'm actually developing an application to handle these actions right now. It's an application that follows the Android Design Guidelines (http://developer.android.com/design/index.html) so it will look nice with Jelly Bean and Ice Cream Sandwich. I've decided not to support anything below Ice Cream Sandwich.
I'll give you a few details on the application. The application will have four tabs that you can swipe between (alarms, clocks, timer, countdown) and they will do what the name suggests. I'm focusing on simplicity in this application. I'm adding a few little extras too. For example when you turn the alarm on it will tell you how much time there is until the alarm goes off (identical to what the stock "clock" application does) and there will be a few other options, like a Holo Light and a Holo Dark theme.
Do not ask me for an ETA. This will be a paid application.

I like the idea and that it's paid is not a an issue. Simplicity along with a clean look and a few extras is what I'm looking for. Post back in this thread when done and I'll have a look.
Imagine you must have researched the competition / existing apps - did you come across anything interesting?
Personally, I'd love to have something like this. So if you're serious about creating this app, I'll pay for it. Hope to see it soon.

I just released it a few days ago. It currently is only a countdown timer, but I'll be adding stop watch functionality to it today/tomorrow and alarm features tomorrow.
It shows the time it's add in the status bar (and on the notification itself too, but you can see it on the status bar without even pulling the shade).
It follows the android guidelines and has the follow features built in already
-Custom Timers
-Ability to ring, vibrate, or both
-Ability to ring/vibrate once, or until the timer is cleared
-LED notifications (Currently implemented just when the timer finishes, but I think I'll add the ability for more, such as 1 minute remaining or 1hour remaining, etc)
-Custom volume/ringtones
-List of preset (changeable) times, and recently used times.
It currently cost 99cents on the market

Hopefully it'll be done by the end of the week. I just added in stopwatch functionality with the following features:
-Ringing or vibrating after every minute (adjustable)
-Keeping track of laps
-Setting a timer equals to the length of the lap
-Setting a timer equal to the total time
I also have plans to add some more functionality to the stopwatch alongside the alarm in the next update.

Nice. If you could also add a world-clock it would, in my opinion, be an improved version of Apple's clock app which is a good thing. Even without you seem to be on the right track. Keep it up.

I'll look about adding that in after adding a daily alarm option. The only issue I would see is trying to find all of the countries and their timezones/when they implement daylight savings times.
Also as an update:
-Sped up the UI
-Added ability to show the stopwatch in the notification bar

I don't imagine it's easy, and the core functions (alarm, timer, stopwatch) are definitely more meat on the bone,
but I would love to see it there. I understand it's not a priority for you though.
In terms of functionality and ease-of-use I think that Apple really succeeded with their Clock app, but it can of course be improved with additional features. I look forward to seeing what you add.

Launch Now is a Google Now shortcut replacement app which can be launched in the same way as the Google Now app. By swiping upwards from the home button you can launch the app and it will allow you to launch any app that you like. When launched the app prompts the user with a dialog containing customizable apps which can be launched. A possible use case scenario would be if you use Twitter alot you can put your favourite Twitter app in one of the slots and access it at any time by simply swiping up from the home button or the lockscreen. The app is very fast and fluid and is in active development so more is to come soon. I've attached a free test version with 2 app slots that you guys can try out. Enjoy!

That's correct. Read the rules before posting, OP, specifically rule 11 in this case.
Also, I wouldn't consider this a Google Now replacement, it's more of an app launcher. Google Now does so much more than just launch apps, or provide shortcuts to apps.
Anyway, can't call it a Google Now replacement, maybe a Google Now shortcut replacement. To be considered a Google Now replacement it needs to be some kind of voice search service.
Anyway, cool idea but I don't think I would pay for this app, specially running a custom ROM such as AOKP which allows users to add shortcuts to the navbar ring, so you can have Google Now and any other app you need/want to on that ring.
I'm working on a free version right now so you guys can test the app out. Shortcut replacement is a really good idea, I'll make sure to use it.

What sort of funcionality do you think would make you (and other people too of course) buy it? Do you think perhaps toggles would be a god idea?

Really like this app but are you planning to make the transition from the Launch Now menu to the chosen app smoother? Is it possible to incorporate the transition animation from jb into this? It'd b great to see the selected app come flying in from the top of the screen.
Also, the icon could use some work; it's hard to see it against white backgrounds.

I'll most definitevely try and make a JB animation, I've done it before in my other app so it shouldn't be all that hard. You're right about the icon, I'll make some changes later.

In my opinion, it's missing just the option to add just one app, like Swipe Launcher offers. Other than that it's faster than the other (2) alternatives available.

Not quite the animation I expected but cool nonetheless and also real smooth. It adds some variety into the mix and that's always a good thing.

In my opinion, it's missing just the option to add just one app, like Swipe Launcher offers. Other than that it's faster than the other (2) alternatives available.

Performence has been a huge focus during development. I'll create a option to just launch one app, look for it in the next update.
I like, keep going mate

Not quite the animation I expected but cool nonetheless and also real smooth. It adds some variety into the mix and that's always a good thing.

I tried the icon on a white wallpaper and it didn't look to bad at all. The icon you liked isn't avavible in 512x512 which is a requirement for app icons so I can't use that. I added a arrow to the existing icon and it looked pretty good, it'll be in the next version. For now I'm sticking to the animation, it's pretty cool i think.
Like I wrote in my review on the Store: It's fast
Though I purchased all the other alternatives available, I found this to be the fastest. Thanks for the option to launch just one app. Please don't sacrifice the speed in favor of more options.
Keeping my eye on this...

Are you ever going to update the paid version of the app on the Play Store? You do realize version 0.4 is not working, right?
You can't add apps and it FCs all the time. Not to mention the weird code in the menu.

Timely - Elegant but simple clock, great clock widget

I'm here to to mention that this is the best clock I've ever seen on Android. It has many functions like puzzles and math to keep you away from sleeping in. I've used it for a week now and I find it pretty useful.
Although the app is free but it has some premium content, but you don't have to pay for it, just share your referral code to your friends so whenever they install the app and enter the code, they get a free theme and you get 1 share. 20 shares will unlock all of the premium content
MODERATOR EDIT - REFERRAL CODES LIKE THIS ARE NOT ALLOWED FOR ANYTHING via XDA

Updated Post with pic. Great for tablets as well and it syncs across devices.

Nope that's all you needed to do! Thank you.
I've unlocked the premium version and I no longer need the shares. If someone else would like to share their link by going into timely, hitting menu then settings, there should be a Share Application which can give you the link to post if you'd like to put it in the thread. :good:
Thanks again to all that helped, I'll continue to maintain the thread and by request I can even swap out my code for one of yours if you would like.
This is a really great clock. I've tried so many and always end back up with the stock clock app. This one finally made me change for good.

More Widget choices!!
If you bore of the timely widget but love the alarm. I like it but it doesnt have weather. One more clock widget (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sunnykwong.freeomc&hl=en) allows many more options for the widget but lets you still open the timly alarm when you touch the clock. It makes it feel just as baked in as the touchiz accuweather widget/clock.
In the settings of "One more clock widget" this tap and display table allows you to open timely as if its part of the widget.

For productivity, is there an app for reading/viewing text, word or pdf document files on the moto 360?

Not that I know of but that's not to say that there isn't one out there. That's why I started this post, to get those unknown apps that others may be using or know of, out there. If I find or hear of one, I'll be sure to post it here.

I posted about this app in another thread also. But for me it's one of the most useful ones.
Unified Remote Full Mainly a remote app for you smartphone. You have to download server application on your pc, and then you can control various things with your smartphone. The full version has Wear support for the statusbar shortcuts which can be assign with any action (remote on your pc, or on your smartphone).
In this thread i uploaded 2 screenshots to see what it looks like.

How about this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...p-pdf-reader-android-wear-standalone-t3031369
is that any apps to reply whatsapps using microsoft keyboard or any input.. not the standard one...
This app will be launched automatically when you put your watch on charge.
It will display usefull informations like time, date, weather, battery charge...
It will notify your phone when the charge is complete !
The screen will remain ON all the time, but a built-in feature protect it from bur-in and marks
It's also customomisable to match every position and wear watches !
