[Q] Reward to get silverlight on android - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I am needing Silverlight for my tablet. I am in a RN program that makes us test/quiz on a program called ATI that requires Silverlight to be able to answer and read test questions. I wish I had an answer for this. I know that if someone did figure this out that a great bounty would come from it. I would definitely donate to the cause. If this can be done I can see it really being a great help to many. Is there a miracle worker out there that can pull this off?

Silverlight is closed source software from Microsoft ...and only they can port it...
According to their website....they consider android obsolete...and will not support it anyway...
You may need another means to view your content...as silverlight will likely never run on android...and the moonlight project met it's demise over 2 years ago..
Sorry about that ...g

[Q] Is It Possible

I'm Trying to focus this thread on developing a, not sure if i should call it dual boot or emulator, but something where we could run Windows Mobile To the incredible. I dont want to get rid of android but i would love to see what wa could come up with. Im lookin into other websites now and posing links now let me know if you have anything that works already.
I also Find WM7 or Other WM Rom for HTC Droid Incredible, Any one Help ???
I doubt it'll happen... Usually people don't like windows mobile enough to even try.

Well my goal is to be able to alternate between the two, it sounds impossible and i know most people prrobably arnt even as intrested in the incredible anymore, but if something like this could be done it would reignite there inte
rest and add that many more possibilities. The only problem is im not actually a developer or programer, i can test and troubleshoot thou.
Just Incredible
The problem is windows mobile isn't open source so we can't really get the code also I think it may be illegal in some way but Idk about that.

Legality probably isn't that big of a deal. Anonymously release the app as an apk file downloadable from a file sharing site, you'd be too hard to track! Now, if you wanted to get paid for it and stamp your real name on it, then you could have some legal issues.
Anyway, yeah, it's definitely possible from a technical standpoint. After all, you can run a Windows 95 virtual machine on these phones. A VM that doesn't require any kind of x86 to ARM translation should run even better. Only problem is you'd have to write it from scratch, unless you can understand disassembled X86 code. If somehow you're genius enough to understand disassembled X86 code, you could probably reverse engineer the WinMo emulator that comes with the WinMo VS.NET SDK.
I think Lee hit the nail on the head though... nobody really cares enough to do it. If anyone cared enough, it would have been done a long time ago.
Hen how about putting a win 7 emulator, i may just be repeting myself but its just a project of mines and it woul be extreamly benifical to hqve all the information i can get, so even in tellin me it cant be done as long as you explain why its more benifical than you may think
Just Incredible

You could use VNC. That would be slow, though probably not as slow as a real emulator would be. I'm emulating Ubuntu on a hackintosh here with beast specs and it's still too slow. If it got done, you would not want to use it.

[Q] Developers

I know this question is really just a time waster but when you're a cube monkey like myself you have to do something to pass the time.
I've been using Android phones for a few years now going back to my G2 Magic. And have been around XDA since my old HTC Dash on Windows mobile.
The question I've been wondering about is how do developers work? I can understand the individual developer working out of his home or office but how do development teams work? Take a big team like Cyanogen for instance. Is there an office somewhere? Does everyone meet at someones house lol? Is it all done through a server, an irc site, is there any sort of payroll? Have any of these guys met face to face? I'm a design engineer for a medical company and we use a lot of video web meetings. Do they interact that way. Do these guys or gals have day jobs?
BTW if this is the wrong section you won't hurt my feelings by moving it. I'm just curious while waiting for 4:20 so I can escape my daily hell.
Its a mix of everything you said lol

romo the mobile robot

ok guys i know this probably shouldn't be here. but as far as i know, xda community is one of the best educated , most creative bunch of android enthusiasts i could ever find
long story short: i guess you all saw the romo robot thing that uses your smartphone as a brain. and i have to achieve this huge senior project in systems and networking engineering for my last year in college. the point is i need new creative ideas on an app i can develop that uses this thing for a new purpose. please feel free to post any ideas you might ever have
device:rooted nexus s i9023
the company even produced its own sdk for devs
well i cant post links because I'm new here...just google romo the smartphone robot to see what I'm talking about
What are its capabilities as of now?
Can it get me a beer and make me a sandwich???
Then I would be interested!!!

Community supported android compiling server?

So in was browsing the web to add to the ACHD server pool and came across some dedicated server listings. As some people know CPU ram and such are needed to compile android. I was wondering anyone is interested in helping me to secure a server that can be used for devs uses that include but not limited to compiling, building and hosting ROMs?
While I host stats servers' hosting for download and dev sharing vps I haven't thought of ordering a dedicated one for this purpose until someone brought it up to me awhile ago and I found something that might be possible.
Wouldn't help any of these devs on this forum and possibly others to help development? If several would like it. I would organize a way to get it month to month, organize scheduling and setting up what I can for hosting as much as possible as bandwidth is cheap now.
So what is everyone's ideas on this? A dedicated servers that devs just have to apply to use and then use it for whatever uses it can handle... Of course related to android and their device specifically.?

I believe they already have this.
But is it really important? On my machine (which, is a gaming PC - 8 core 4.2ghz, 16Gb RAM), I could compile this and still work on other tasks. I'd have to imagine most developers have a custom built or a higher-end market PC.
Or am I missing something?

Several have talked to me about it. But i believe it is mainly for building and content delivery in the same package. If i thought i needed to add it to the server pool i would have done so instead of just posting about it.
Also most developers don't have a custom rig even close to that. How do i know? i interact with them and host many devs stuff and they reached out to me with interest about something like this for awhile.
A rig like that is just to costly for most to have. While i do have a rig similar. Except twice the ram. (Faster than hdd anyday) i can confidently say its not as common as one would think.
Their main reasons for interest is the gbit port for downloading all resources, then any updates faster and able to start compiling right away and then be ready to deliver right away.
My only suggestions and offerings come from a devs interest when they ask me to host something or about the feasibility ability about something for them. So what it looks like to me os that not everyone has access to compile and host right away.

[Q] Would like to dual boot my Tab 3 7.0 with windows RT

I want to dual boot my Tab with window RT. I saw this article on CNET saying it is possible. However I have not seen any information on the steps or process. Has anyone done this or tried this yet? Thanks in advance for your help :good:

to elaborate on this guy windows rt is proprietary and is only installed oem (from the manufacturer) to do so would not only be illegal but would require windows arm drivers which aren't eother open source nor even available without like recompiling windows... it could be done but the level of coding would be so great that kind of people are probably already working for microsoft.

I brought a iOS recovery disc from the apple store and did a dual boot on my desktop. I figure I can buy a recovery disc from the windows store for window RT. That would make my purchase of the OS legal and therefor as long as I am not redistributing the disc. And as I stated, I was not trying to talk about illegal software. There was an article posted on CNET's page regarding the dual boot possibility of the Tab 3 with windows RT.

as legal as it might make it as a piracy issue the EULA prohibits such use. OSX and Windows RT have license agreements that limit which devices it can run on legally. Also the possibilities involved count on Samsung tabs that come with RT having similar hardware as the android ones; however there is no guarantee since the kernel is not open source and there is no known source for a windows kernel that uses arm. until someone leaks a source from rt's kernel and a savvy enough programmer adapts it to the android tabs its just not feasible or else cnet would have reported someone doing it not a "possibility"

wow, you guys are really....legal...and non-piraty...piratey?
how about the part of the discussion where someone asks why would you throw away your money
on windows rt? for all of that you might be better suited to looking for a tab with windows at default
but mod-able to dual boot android. Arrrr matey !!!

meh once you go breaking eulas might as well break the "you have to buy it" rule. but lets not get into that. most of what I was saying is that xda won't like it because its illegal. you can't discuss illegal stuff on xda.
