Any one got is hands on?

Cheers,
It's not out yet.
Yeah, but did anybody download the beta? and can they share that with us?
They've changed this privacy policy in the last day or so, but here is part of it, which explains why I won't ever touch Skyfire...
(from http://www.skyfire.com/about/privacy-and-security)
Skyfire Labs, Inc. (“Skyfire”) has developed a mobile web browser (the “Browser”) that enables you to surf the internet, interact with websites and send and receive content (collectively “Browser Usage”) on your mobile phone, PDA and other handheld electronic devices. When you use the Browser, Skyfire has access to, and in many cases will monitor, your Browser Usage.
...
Once you have subscribed to and begin to use the Browser, we will collect information about your use of the Browser on your Device (“Browser Usage Information”). Browser Usage Information includes such information as which websites and programs you access or download on your Device, how long you visit such websites and use such programs, your activities (such as products purchased or advertisements viewed) on such websites, which specific areas of a website or webpage you use and for how long, websites you bookmark, search terms you use, referring/exit pages, browser and platform types, the geographic location in which your Device is being used and information you provide on third party websites. All of your Browser Usage Information is stored by Skyfire under an automatically generated, random identification number (“ID Number”) that will not be associated with or linked to your Personal Information. Please be aware, though, that your Browser Usage Information, when viewed in the aggregate, may reveal your identity even if it is not associated with or linked to your Personal Information. By downloading our Browser and accepting our Terms of Use (which includes acceptance of this Privacy Policy), you have given us your express consent to collect and use Browser Usage Information and tie it to an ID Number.

being honest i have to say i don't mind, let them record what they want.
do you think your ISP/Mobile carrier does not log your usage via IEM/Opera mobile etc?
i work for a mobile carrier and can tell you they do.

Is it possible to upload files straight from phone to site? If so explain how please, tried advanced options for ' quick reply', but couldn't get past choose file screen. I have two leaked Galaxy S 2 lwp that are pretty cool. Windmills and beach that change with time of day and weather.

Try using dropbox that's how I do it at least. It will let you upload pretty much whatever. You can get it in the market free!

I agree, Dropbox is great. I've been thinking of upgrading to a paid account when I get a little more money saved (I just went on an app buying/dev donation spree, so definitely over my online quota right now). I just found out the hard way that there's a 10 gig/day bandwidth limit for public links, but it's definitely a great site.
If you're talking about on xda, I haven't found a way to do it yet. Even with the user agent set to desktop, it won't work. I think this is because it doesn't integrate Android file explorers. You can always use Dropbox or another hosting site and link others to the file. With Dropbox, I just use the mobile app. Once you've uploaded whatever you want to share to your "Public" folder, long press the item, choose share, and then "copy a link". This will result in a direct download, which I prefer over other sites.
If you want extra space, sign up with my referral here:
http://db.tt/7wtj3Nc
EDIT: First link was wrong, so I fixed it. I believe you have to install Dropbox as well to get the extra space.
Thanks for your help...uploaded both live wp in the Themes and Apps section.
Most of us would probably use DropBox or Box ... But, I am looking for cloud file storage service which have the features below:
1. It has a free type account (like starter account with limited space)
2. It can share a folder to public with password protection
Is there anything like that?
DropBox can share files or folders to public but it does not support password protection.
Why I need this feature?
I want to share some semi-private files, like photos and videos to only several people who do NOT always have DropBox account.
So, I am wondering if there is such service.
Thanks.
MEGAUPLOAD........ wait~
lmao! have you thought about IDrive or SugarSync?? Im not sure they support password protected files though,, then again you could always drop them in the public folder and zip them up password protecty stylie! then dish out the password to certain folks
I use SkyDrive for this...you can set certain access to certain people and they don't need to be a member of skydrive
Google+ with private circles?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I thought SugarSync or maybe SpiderOak allowed this - may be wrong though...
I use Sugarsync (paid account), Box.net (50gb free because I own an HP Touchpad) and Dropbox (only because some apps will only sync to it for backup).
Sugarsync does offer sharing with password protection, and according to their comparison chart with the competition, box.net does too:
http://www.sugarsync.com/sync_comparison.html
I would suggest signing up for their free accounts and see if sharing with password protection is a free or premium only feature.
Good luck!
You can always put password-protected zip files in your public folder, right?

Yes, but the standard ZIP encryption isn't worth anything at all. WinRAR is a lot stronger (AES 128 bit) but you should really use PGP/TrueCrypt or the like if you want your data to stay private no matter what.

This is interesting, how do you share securely using Google Docs?
As for using .zip / .rar passworded files, it is the workaround that I might use it. Although, I don't like zipping large video files!
Note that I am not planning to share illegal material, only some private videos that we made during parties. I could also share the Dropbox account password, but I am trying to find a better way.
Of course, I could just burn all the videos into DVD and send them via post But hey! It's now 2012, cloud service is here to use.
I've heard good things about Amazon cloud storage. 5gb Haven't tried it yet though cause I currently have 8gb through dropbox. Sucks that they won't allow more. Even with more referrals.

with box, dropbox and skydrive, with least 10gb of space, why would you go use google drive when it is only 5gb?
its out 2day if you dont have it yet.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5nb29nbGUuYW5kcm9pZC5hcHBzLmRvY3MiXQ..
dropbox only gives u 2gb. u have to get people to register to get more space. check out cx and minus, also.
i've got 4.6gb on dropbox, after playing with the beta and uploading lots of stuff for the increased space...
got 50gb on box.net, but 100mb file limit sux.
I have a box 50gb account but that is very hard to fill up with the 100mb max single upload limit so I'm all for Gdrive
Edit: has anyone actually gotten to use this yet it tells me mines not ready yet. I WANT lol

I've over 13gb on dropbox, all from referrals and the quiz they had. No size limit on files on dropbox seals it for me.

Its all friggin propaganda, read the WHOLE tos
"Some of our Services allow you to submit content. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in that content. In short, what belongs to you stays yours. When you upload or otherwise submit content to our Services, you give Google (and those we work with) a worldwide license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, create derivative works (such as those resulting from translations, adaptations or other changes we make so that your content works better with our Services), communicate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute such content."
The first 2 sentences have been conveniently removed to stir up distrust. It only grants them the power to take your stuff and modify it better to fit in their services for you (keyword translation).

Thought I would share some apps.
These apps are Google Apps for nonrooted devices. I say nonrooted, cause I assume people with rooted devices have already installed these apps.
1) Install Google Accounts Manager, reboot
2) Install Google Services Framework, reboot
3) Install Google Play Services, reboot - Latest working version 7.0.99
4) Install Play Store and login
http://www.4shared.com/rar/xFL01jekce/Google_Apps.html
Side Note: Google Play Store will not function correctly on nonrooted devices, but it still does things in the background so keep it installed. You can now install apps that need Google Play Services to run.
Live TV Streaming Apps. Mobdro, Live Stream Player, Mediahhh and World Sports Streams
http://www.4shared.com/rar/qgiPSrXhba/Live_TV_Streaming.html
Side Note: World Sports Streams uses XMTV Player and MX Player for all streams. I have provided XMTV Player but you will have to install MX Player, cause I use the pro version and I am not giving a paid app for free.
Third Party App Stores. Blackmart, Mobogenie, Aptoide and 1Mobile Market. These are great for installing apps and updating apps without needing Google Play. Also takes away the need for ADB sideloading.
http://www.4shared.com/rar/fXOGmk_pba/Third_Party_App_Stores.html
Tips: If you are gonna use the third party app stores do not auto update. Update apps one at a time and look at the version numbers to make sure its an actual update and not a down grade. All the apps I have listed in this post work much better with or require a mouse/touchpad to use.
Favorite Live TV Addons For Kodi:

SportsDevil
Robin Hood People List

Other Notable Addons:

Xunity Maintenance
A few good apps that work well on the fire TV that I think have become essential to my Fire TV experience:
DU Speed Booster
SD Maid
Dock4Droid (Best app I have used on the Fire TV)
AOL On (Not the Fire TV Version)
SPMC
Fast Reboot
8 Ball Pool
Facebook Desktop 2 also called FBD2
MirrorOP Reciever
DU Speed Booster and SD Maid for cleaning. I use DU Speed Booster then SD Maid, cause I have never found a cleaner yet for Android that deletes as much junk as DU Speed Booster, but as with all cleaners there is still junk left so I follow it up by cleaning with SD Maid to get even more junk off my device. No matter what cleaner you use SD Maid can still find more junk that can be deleted so I always use two cleaners. Dock4Droid is probably the best app I have found for the Fire TV. It makes the Fire TV so much better. It adds great multitsking and will also let you see app info from anywhere so that you can delete apps, force close apps or delete their data/cache fron anywhere. AOL On for news videos. Not the Fire TV version the version you get from the Play store or third party app stores. It has hundreds of outlets to lets you watch serveral generas of news. Fast Reboot used together with Dock4Droid is awesome. You can add the Fast Reboot shortcut to Dock4Droid and do a fast reboot from anywhere. 8Ball Pool, cause its like turning your TV into a pool table, and its a great game. Must use a mouse or touchpad to play though. FBD2 gives you a desktop version of Facebook without having to use a browser. I don't use Facebook a lot but when I do I use FBD2. MirrorOP Recever does the same as miracast, but its a backup for people that cannot mirror their device to the Fire TV. Just install MirrorOP Sender on the device you wanna mirror.

can you check that 4shared link? I cant seem to download. Tried 2 different devices. Thanks.
All links are correct. You eiither need a free account or login with Facebook, Twitter etc. If you are downloading them on Android, click the link then click download, but sometime it will take you to a different page for some reason, so hit back once and click download again, then pick free download and then either login to your free account or login through Facebook, Twitter etc.

All links I posted are working. Google drive may be better for you, but I use 4shared. I do not use anything just because someone else thinks its better. If you wanna downloaad the files either create a free account or just use you Facebook, Twitter etc to login to 4shared. I refuse to upoad my files to anoter site just because someeone is too lazy to create an account or connect through their Facebook etc.
Not trying to be rude at all, but I refuse to do anything for someeone who just wants me to make it easier for them to do something. It takes 20 seconds to create a 4shared account and 1 second to connect to 4shared with Facebook or Twitter. I have provided the files so if you want them you will have to download them from 4shared.
That's why I hate 4shared,they force you to (risk privacy) make an account.
It has NOTHING to do with laziness, more about privacy, they even bait you into thinking you could download files without needing an account, only to prompt so.
They used to be GOOD where you didn't have to do stupid stuff just to download a file.
It's like Dropbox pushing you twice to make an account when downloading a file, and it puts the "no thanks" link too far on the screen (Opera for Android via FireTV) where you have to first manipulate it with doubleclick zoom before bringing up the prompt, but at least you don't HAVE to create an account.
In some cases,a 4shared download can be directly accessible without making an account, but I can't remember how the link text looked.
In the near future,I reccommend 2shared,as I always have a great experience with that site.

Actually 4shared added the account login feature to make their site more secure. Also its just an ad that pops up and 99.9% of sites do similar stuff, cause its how they make money from advertisers. They also added the social network connection feature cause it is way more convenient to most people, and they added it because people asked them to add the feature so that they could connect through Facebook etc. There is very few sites or games that do not have the same exact feature that 4shared has, they are even a lot of sites, apps and games that require you to connect using GMail, Facebook or twitter. You would be hardpressed to find a website, app or game that does not require you to either give your email, Facebook, Twitter etc. Also, there is not one major file sharing site that does not either have a popup or a redirect page. The difference is that most of them have a popup which does not get in the way, while 4shared has a redirect instead of the popup. The popup and redirect do the same exact thing, it shows an ad to usually download something, which is not a big deal at all, cause all you have to do is go back one page and continue downloading what you were there to download before the redirect ad popped up. I get redirect ads all the time even on this very site. If popup and redirect ads kept people from using sites then people would basically have to stop using almost every website on the internet. If giving your email or connecting through Facebook is bad then why use XDA, cause they require you to give an email address or connect through Facebook, Twitter etc.

Because I am actually involved in using XDA for replying, making posts, and other useful things, while 4shared is merely a file sharing site,XDA is a community driven forum of developers, testers, and users alike for Android devices of all kinds.
(though I find XDA's current interface frustrating compared to the old design)

4shared is not just a file sharing site. Its also a place to store media or whatever else you want to store. 4shared does not require any information that any other site doesn't ask for, So I am not sure how you can say they invade your privacy. Every site you use will require you to login to use the functions of that site. 4shared is also used on devices of all kinds, not just android. There is a 4shared app for several different OS platforms. 4shared is a legit site and is not sketchy like most other file storage sites that are basicaly just a place to downlad free movies. 4shared is not rapidshare or one of the other shady sites, and thats why they require you to login. If you notice all the highly illegal sites do not require you to login to upload or download, but 4shared does, cause they are not like those sites. 4shared is more geared towards storage than sharing.
4shared 4shared Just pointing that out... XD
I was just saying it is not a forum,so it shouldn't make an extra 100,000+ people become members just because they needed to download something from it.
Of course you should have to be logged in to upload files, but not for simply downloading them.
Sure, they can make a feature to require one to be logged in to download certain files the uploader marks for requiring it though.

The thing you are not realizing is that 4shared does not force anyone to do anything, cause the internet does not revolve around 4shared. There are hundreds of other ways to get the same files that are on 4shared. You do not have to use 4shared. Every single file that I have linked to 4shared is widely availale in thousands of other places. A search engine is a beautiful thing and if you do not wanna downlad files from 4shared just use google, bing, yahoo or the search provider of you choice to find it elsewhere. Also comparing a forum and a file storage site is apples to oranges. There are also a lot of people that use storage sites a lot more than they use forum sites. You are making a big deal out of nothing. Every legit site makes you login to use their services.
That escalated quickly...
Download from 4shared or find your own files. Pretty simple and straightforward. Don't think we need ten posts about what one likes over another.
With 5 out now we should be able to install the Android TV Launcher, and with it, the Android TV Play store. I tried to sideload the APK from GAPPS but it failed. Perhaps it has other dependencies. Anyone have any suggestions?
