A few good apps - Fire TV Themes and Apps

Thought I would share some apps.
These apps are Google Apps for nonrooted devices. I say nonrooted, cause I assume people with rooted devices have already installed these apps.
1) Install Google Accounts Manager, reboot
2) Install Google Services Framework, reboot
3) Install Google Play Services, reboot - Latest working version 7.0.99
4) Install Play Store and login
http://www.4shared.com/rar/xFL01jekce/Google_Apps.html
Side Note: Google Play Store will not function correctly on nonrooted devices, but it still does things in the background so keep it installed. You can now install apps that need Google Play Services to run.
Live TV Streaming Apps. Mobdro, Live Stream Player, Mediahhh and World Sports Streams
http://www.4shared.com/rar/qgiPSrXhba/Live_TV_Streaming.html
Side Note: World Sports Streams uses XMTV Player and MX Player for all streams. I have provided XMTV Player but you will have to install MX Player, cause I use the pro version and I am not giving a paid app for free.
Third Party App Stores. Blackmart, Mobogenie, Aptoide and 1Mobile Market. These are great for installing apps and updating apps without needing Google Play. Also takes away the need for ADB sideloading.
http://www.4shared.com/rar/fXOGmk_pba/Third_Party_App_Stores.html
Tips: If you are gonna use the third party app stores do not auto update. Update apps one at a time and look at the version numbers to make sure its an actual update and not a down grade. All the apps I have listed in this post work much better with or require a mouse/touchpad to use.
Favorite Live TV Addons For Kodi:

Other Notable Addons:

A few good apps that work well on the fire TV that I think have become essential to my Fire TV experience:
DU Speed Booster
SD Maid
Dock4Droid (Best app I have used on the Fire TV)
AOL On (Not the Fire TV Version)
SPMC
Fast Reboot
8 Ball Pool
Facebook Desktop 2 also called FBD2
MirrorOP Reciever
DU Speed Booster and SD Maid for cleaning. I use DU Speed Booster then SD Maid, cause I have never found a cleaner yet for Android that deletes as much junk as DU Speed Booster, but as with all cleaners there is still junk left so I follow it up by cleaning with SD Maid to get even more junk off my device. No matter what cleaner you use SD Maid can still find more junk that can be deleted so I always use two cleaners. Dock4Droid is probably the best app I have found for the Fire TV. It makes the Fire TV so much better. It adds great multitsking and will also let you see app info from anywhere so that you can delete apps, force close apps or delete their data/cache fron anywhere. AOL On for news videos. Not the Fire TV version the version you get from the Play store or third party app stores. It has hundreds of outlets to lets you watch serveral generas of news. Fast Reboot used together with Dock4Droid is awesome. You can add the Fast Reboot shortcut to Dock4Droid and do a fast reboot from anywhere. 8Ball Pool, cause its like turning your TV into a pool table, and its a great game. Must use a mouse or touchpad to play though. FBD2 gives you a desktop version of Facebook without having to use a browser. I don't use Facebook a lot but when I do I use FBD2. MirrorOP Recever does the same as miracast, but its a backup for people that cannot mirror their device to the Fire TV. Just install MirrorOP Sender on the device you wanna mirror.

can you check that 4shared link? I cant seem to download. Tried 2 different devices. Thanks.

All links are correct. You eiither need a free account or login with Facebook, Twitter etc. If you are downloading them on Android, click the link then click download, but sometime it will take you to a different page for some reason, so hit back once and click download again, then pick free download and then either login to your free account or login through Facebook, Twitter etc.

All links I posted are working. Google drive may be better for you, but I use 4shared. I do not use anything just because someone else thinks its better. If you wanna downloaad the files either create a free account or just use you Facebook, Twitter etc to login to 4shared. I refuse to upoad my files to anoter site just because someeone is too lazy to create an account or connect through their Facebook etc.
Not trying to be rude at all, but I refuse to do anything for someeone who just wants me to make it easier for them to do something. It takes 20 seconds to create a 4shared account and 1 second to connect to 4shared with Facebook or Twitter. I have provided the files so if you want them you will have to download them from 4shared.

That's why I hate 4shared,they force you to (risk privacy) make an account.
It has NOTHING to do with laziness, more about privacy, they even bait you into thinking you could download files without needing an account, only to prompt so.
They used to be GOOD where you didn't have to do stupid stuff just to download a file.
It's like Dropbox pushing you twice to make an account when downloading a file, and it puts the "no thanks" link too far on the screen (Opera for Android via FireTV) where you have to first manipulate it with doubleclick zoom before bringing up the prompt, but at least you don't HAVE to create an account.
In some cases,a 4shared download can be directly accessible without making an account, but I can't remember how the link text looked.
In the near future,I reccommend 2shared,as I always have a great experience with that site.

Actually 4shared added the account login feature to make their site more secure. Also its just an ad that pops up and 99.9% of sites do similar stuff, cause its how they make money from advertisers. They also added the social network connection feature cause it is way more convenient to most people, and they added it because people asked them to add the feature so that they could connect through Facebook etc. There is very few sites or games that do not have the same exact feature that 4shared has, they are even a lot of sites, apps and games that require you to connect using GMail, Facebook or twitter. You would be hardpressed to find a website, app or game that does not require you to either give your email, Facebook, Twitter etc. Also, there is not one major file sharing site that does not either have a popup or a redirect page. The difference is that most of them have a popup which does not get in the way, while 4shared has a redirect instead of the popup. The popup and redirect do the same exact thing, it shows an ad to usually download something, which is not a big deal at all, cause all you have to do is go back one page and continue downloading what you were there to download before the redirect ad popped up. I get redirect ads all the time even on this very site. If popup and redirect ads kept people from using sites then people would basically have to stop using almost every website on the internet. If giving your email or connecting through Facebook is bad then why use XDA, cause they require you to give an email address or connect through Facebook, Twitter etc.

Because I am actually involved in using XDA for replying, making posts, and other useful things, while 4shared is merely a file sharing site,XDA is a community driven forum of developers, testers, and users alike for Android devices of all kinds.
(though I find XDA's current interface frustrating compared to the old design)
It took me a bit just to find the quote button on your post.

4shared is not just a file sharing site. Its also a place to store media or whatever else you want to store. 4shared does not require any information that any other site doesn't ask for, So I am not sure how you can say they invade your privacy. Every site you use will require you to login to use the functions of that site. 4shared is also used on devices of all kinds, not just android. There is a 4shared app for several different OS platforms. 4shared is a legit site and is not sketchy like most other file storage sites that are basicaly just a place to downlad free movies. 4shared is not rapidshare or one of the other shady sites, and thats why they require you to login. If you notice all the highly illegal sites do not require you to login to upload or download, but 4shared does, cause they are not like those sites. 4shared is more geared towards storage than sharing.

4shared 4shared Just pointing that out... XD
I was just saying it is not a forum,so it shouldn't make an extra 100,000+ people become members just because they needed to download something from it.
Of course you should have to be logged in to upload files, but not for simply downloading them.
Sure, they can make a feature to require one to be logged in to download certain files the uploader marks for requiring it though.

The thing you are not realizing is that 4shared does not force anyone to do anything, cause the internet does not revolve around 4shared. There are hundreds of other ways to get the same files that are on 4shared. You do not have to use 4shared. Every single file that I have linked to 4shared is widely availale in thousands of other places. A search engine is a beautiful thing and if you do not wanna downlad files from 4shared just use google, bing, yahoo or the search provider of you choice to find it elsewhere. Also comparing a forum and a file storage site is apples to oranges. There are also a lot of people that use storage sites a lot more than they use forum sites. You are making a big deal out of nothing. Every legit site makes you login to use their services.

That escalated quickly...

Download from 4shared or find your own files. Pretty simple and straightforward. Don't think we need ten posts about what one likes over another.

With 5 out now we should be able to install the Android TV Launcher, and with it, the Android TV Play store. I tried to sideload the APK from GAPPS but it failed. Perhaps it has other dependencies. Anyone have any suggestions?

How to browse Apps without Zune Marketplace.

I know some of you new WP7 owners, like myself , are irritated with how the Zune marketplace always jumps back to the top when browsing the apps.
I began looking for a way to browse apps without needing to use the marketplace and I found 2 things:
1. There's this app called Top Apps which collects all the top apps for you to browse from your phone. I just got it an hour ago and it seems to work pretty well. But it's not on your PC, which is what I really wanted so I found a bing website,
2. Just use the search term WP7 app list in bing and a gallery is one of the results and it shows the apps available. Not sure if it's all of them but it looks like it and it's damn convenient IMHO.
Hope this helps someone out there. You have any other methods? Please share.
For Zune.. Just recreate a new hotmail account, and make sure it is a USA as the country when you sign up... and just use this for downloading apps from the market place. I am in canada, so my email was originally created as Canada, and so can't use it.. it is a known issue at this time. So the only workaround from Microsoft is to create new hotmail account and use that.

[Q] Android market question

I've heard of several devices that are unable to access the android market. I was wondering if there is a way to simply have access to the APK files, essentially a market back door. I don't even know if this allowed because frankly, I don't understand how the market works. I'm focusing on the word, "open market".
Reason for the question: I may getting a Nook soon but I read that some of them can't access the market using honeycomb.
Thanks.
If it's a free app, that's fine. Many devs even make the apk available on their website. The market only serves as a convenient search engine and auto updater for free apps.
If it's a paid app, that's illegal and a violation of the forum rules - do not ask again. For paid apps, the market serves as a search engine, shopping cart / checkout, license validater, and auto updater.
In case you are asking about a paid app, i'll save you the effort... even if you did get your hands on the apk, most of them will fail to start or run b.c. the market will reject your phone when it tries to validate your copy of the app on app startup.
I thought I made it clear that I didn't know much about the market which is why I'm asking. I forgot that some apps are paid apps, simply an oversight. Your attempt to offer helpful advice was clouded by an unnecessary admonishment of my actions. I'm very well aware of the forum rules. Simply stated, you're making it sound like I'm trying to steal from developers, I'm not. I'm simply trying to find a way to get "free" apps that are listed as such on the market using a device that does not seem to have access to the market.
You could always grab the Amazon Appstore .apk and use that to search and download applications, too.

[GUIDE] Google Music Beta in the UK

Figure this may be useful as the stock music player installed on the Galaxy Nexus is all setup ready for the cloud based goodness of Google Music, but it's a service supposedly only available in the US at the moment.
To work around that, try the following (worked for me, YMMV):
Download the appropriate version of Tor Browser bundle for your platform from:
https://www.torproject.org/projects/torbrowser.html.en
Install, load up the Vidalia control panel and click "Settings"
Navigate to the advanced section, click "Edit current torrc"
Paste the following into the bottom of the torrc file:
ExcludeNodes {be},{pl},{ca},{za},{vn},{uz},{ua},{tw},{tr},{th},{sk},{sg},{se},{sd},{sa},{ru},{ro},{pt},{ph},{pa},{nz},{np},{no},{my},{mx},{md},{lv},{lu},{kr},{jp},{it},{ir},{il},{ie},{id},{hr},{hk},{gr},{gi},{gb},{fi},{es},{ee},{dk},{cz},{cy},{cr},{co},{cn},{cl},{ci},{ch},{by},{br},{bg},{au},{at},{ar},{aq},{ao},{ae},{nl},{de},{fr}
(This will force Tor to use a US exit node)
Save the settings, restart Tor.
In the Tor tunneled Firefox that's now running, visit:
http://music.google.com
If you get an error about it only being available in the US, go back to the Tor Vidalia control panel and click the "Use a new identity" button (to pick a new exit node) and refresh the page. Repeat until you get a Google music login box.
Try signing in with your existing Google account - this worked fine for me but there seem to be conflicting reports about whether it works in all cases for non-US accounts.
If not, you may have to setup a new GMail account solely for Google Music use. Be sure to create the account using the Tor tunneled Firefox so that Google think you're in the US when you sign up.
Once you've logged in to Google Music once and accepted the T&Cs (maybe grab the dire Busta Rhymes freebie track to check its all working) you can ditch Tor - Google Music will quite happily now let you access and upload music from the UK.
Load up the Music Player, link the newly Google Music enabled account to it, enjoy.
thanks
streaming on my device is quite nice, but i have to wait until the song is fully loaded to start it (in Music-app)... little bit annoying
A much easier way to do it is just use a proxy website (like those ones to get around school/work firewalls). The majority are based in the US.
I used the first link that came up on a Google search to sign up for Google Music back around the time it launched. Less hassle than downloading software etc.
The only real problem is that you can't access the store, which means you can't get any of the free music or buy anything.
You still get the syncing and upload abilities though, which is quite nice. I just need to sort out my music collection now before I upload it
I know that's probably a bit stupid but I can't install the app from the market. It downloads correctly but when it wants to install the app it says it isn't signed properly or so. Is this because it isn't developed for the desire? I would like to use it until my nexus arrives.

You need to uninstall any previous versions and also make sure you clear data under application settings

Get your self the market enabler and set it to use verzion us market settings. Uninstall current version then download from market. I did this earlier today and you get the very latest version of the app.
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
Found an interesting thread about it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350164
I keep getting an 'error at line 1' message when I click on OK. Even without entering any extra text I also get it
The 'error at line x' is something to do with Windows 7 (possibly x64) editing the torrc file. Had the same issue...
Easiest fix is to go to the Tor folder/data/tor/ then open 'torrc' with Notepad manually. Edit the file by hand, save and restart Tor and it'll accept the changes fine.
I used TunnelBear on my PC to trick Google into thinking I Was in the USA, then accessed Google Music over the internet and registered for the service.
Then on my phone, I downloaded the Music APK from this XDA page and installed it on my phone.
Works fine for me for playing music on my phone and music off my computer which has been uploaded to the cloud.
Play still won't give you access to the music section though as it's not licensed still for UK use.
lol. what's the problem: i'm using music beta since last november here in germany even though its not even released here.
Hmm, used Tor and got my account linked to Google Music. I'm now uploading an album just fine, but when I try to use the Music Manager to listen to the songs, it still says it's only available in the US.

FireTV XBMC installed captcha help

Ok guys, I've got XBMC/KODI installed on the fire box and it's working brilliantly. However, I've installed a repo to get hold of some more items to watch and when I attempt to access this particular add-on it asks for a captcha but there is no visible captcha to allow me to enter anything using either the onscreen or physical keyboard so it won't allow me to access the content? Any ideas

using kodi a long time now and don't recall coming across any captchas...I use a bare bones setup with tvaddons using addon installer to get the few addons I need and just that gives me access to just about any media I can imagine. Be weery of what repos you use. Its like anything else you download, there's safe and malicious. I have no reason to think the repo you got is bad but its just a heads up, depending on what you want there might be better options.
The thread is kind of useless if you are not gonn tell us what addon you are having problems with so that we can see if it happens to us too. I use other addons that involve captcha popups, but it depends on the stream and not the addon. Some sites require captcha input for streams. A good example is the "TV-Release" addon, all their streams in the addon require you to solve a captcha, but I have never had a problem doing so. Maybe its not the addon causing the problem, maybe its your skin that is not letting the captcha popup, or maybe its entirely something else. Its hard to know a solution without knowing what addon you are talking about. Please reply with the name of the addon. Also, change your skin and see if that helps. I have used skins in the past that would not show captchas.

Sorry but as stupid as this may seem I wasn't sure about the rules mentioning add ons etc but the add on in question is 1channel ie primewire. Is it a question of trying out various skins to see if any work. The other problem is that because I wasn't able to input the captcha it shut me out of the add on?

I have never had a captcha popup while opening 1channel. I have had to solve captchas for certain links with 1channel, but never to open the addon. What you need to do is uninstall it manually. Find your Kodi folder and delete the 1channel folder from the addons folder, delete the 1channel folder from the addon data folder and delete the 1channel db files from the database folder. Reinstall 1channel, but make sure you install it from the tvaddons.ag repo. If you haven't got that repo, google for directions on how to install it.
Maybe not been clear, I can open the add on without problem and I can go to the TV series folder and view any one of the programs. But when I go to the movies folder and try and open one of the movies, that's when I got the captcha come up. Because I couldn't enter the captcha it booted me back into an empty folder. I can still go into the TV series without problem

Like I said, its normal to have to solve captchas to watch certain streams. I frequently have to solve captchas to watch movies or TV shows. Not sure why you are not able to enter captchas. Does the stream you are trying to watch have several sources? If so use a different source that does not require a captcha. Heres what we are gonna do, tell me the movie you are trying to watch and I will see if the same happens to me. It is a certain movie thats causing the problem right, or is it all movies that you try to watch?
The movie I attempted to watch was "Last Knights". I reinstalled 1channel and instead of booting me out of the listing when I failed to enter the captcha I returned to the movie listing and can view other movies without a problem, well so far that is. So possibly just Last Knights that is causing the problem

I just had no problem playing the movie. I tried every link and only a couple required a captcha, and there is exactly 30 different link sources. When you click on the movie there should be a popup with all the different link sources for the movie, if one does not work, click on the movie again and try a different source. Some sites require you to solve captchas to watch content so depending on the website that the link is from you may have to solve a captcha, but for Last Knights there were only a couple sources that required a captcha to be solved. I exclusively use 1channel for reruns and movies, but there are several other addons that basically do the same as 1channel, so you might wanna try watching the movie from another addon. 1channel is far from perfect, it has several quirks like everytime I watch an episode from my favorites it sends me back to the addon screen and if I hit back it sends me back to my favorites, but I still think its the best addon for TV and movies. Is your version of 1channel 2.5.64?
Well, this is a strange one. I currently have two fire tv boxes, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. When I open up 1channel in the bedroom I can navigate to both tv series and movies without a problem. However, when I use the one in the living room I can access tv series but when I attempt to open the movies section it immediately tells me I have to type the image on the screen to proceed. Obviously I cannot see any image as this was my original problem so when I quit it just takes me to a blank directory. No matter what I do I cannot get passed the "type image on screen to proceed". I even attempted to uninstall 1channel and reinstall but when I open it up again all the settings are still there from the original setup so it still won't allow me to enter the movies section. How can I completely wipe the box of 1channel and setting so I can try to start afresh?

[Q] Google APK for Fire Phone - non 3rd party - self download

Hello,
First let me say sorry if this is the wrong forum for the question, or if it has been asked. I have searched myself into a headache looking for the answer as well as other information before I update my phone to be able to use Google Play.
My question is this... To install Google Play on the Fire Phone you need .apk files: Account Manager, Framework, Services, Store. Well I've seen quite a few places to get these files online. But where do those sites get them? I'm assuming it can't be downloaded via browser plugin (apk downloader, etc) from the PC Google Play store itself, since it's the app that installs other apps.
I'm paranoid and would like to get those four files myself, so I know its safe - if its possible. Any idea how/where?
The answer is probably staring me in the face, but I don't see it.
My guess is that some phones can capture the files as they download from Google updates and turn them into apk form. But I'm not sure... If there is a way to get them myself I'd like to know - if not, what is the safest place to get them?
Thanks!

Well getting here would be a good start. If not like you said in your post go to Google Play store and use the APK plug in or one of the Web sites that do the same.

Found another thread the other day and someone there was able to help me.

Just wanted to say again.
If you want to get the .APK files to install the Google Play store 100% safe ask a buddy to use ES File Manager to back them up for you. Just go into system files and find them, and select backup. Or if you are like me and have an old android phone, back them up yourself - worked like a charm - no issues.
Thanks again.
