Use market helper to change your device id to a nexus 4 and then try using google wallet to do nfc payments

The new update works on our phone!

Are you able to make payments through google wallet like the Nexus 4?

I believe the new update only allows us to transfer and receive funds via Google Wallet only. I attempted to make several transactions using Google Wallet without any success.

Unfortunately, the Optimus G Pro isn't supported by Google Wallet for NFC Transactions-

It is AT&T(and other carriers) plus the retailers blocking it, why do they block it, does not harm them.

I have a feeling it's because it doesn't support NFC Secure Element, that's why the new Nexus 7 2013 Tablet doesn't support NFC via Google Wallet-
7. What is the secure element?
While not all NFC applications require security, those that involve financial transactions or certain mobile marketing applications (e.g., coupons and loyalty) require a “secure element” within the phone to securely store applications and/or credentials (e.g., financial account numbers) and provide for secure execution of applications.
The secure element (secure memory and execution environment) is a dynamic environment in which application code and application data can be securely stored and administered and in which secure execution of applications occur. The element resides in highly secure crypto chips (usually a smart card chip). The element provides delimited memory for each application and other functions that can encrypt, decrypt, and sign the data packet.
The secure element could be implemented either by a separate secure smart card chip (currently implemented in most of the NFC-enabled mobile phone pilots), in the SIM/UICC (which is used by GSM mobile phone operators to authenticate subscribers on their networks and maintain personalized subscriber information and applications), or in an SD card that can be inserted in the mobile phone. The secure element implementation approach will be selected by the mobile operator implementing the service and/or by the payment service provider (for SD card implementations).
http://www.smartcardalliance.org/pages/publications-nfc-frequently-asked-questions#7
http://androidandme.com/2013/07/app...-nfc-secure-element-no-google-wallet-support/ New Nexus 7 lacks a secure element in it's NFC chip.

It looks like banks in Asia are supporting NFC Transactions on the OGP though-

Mobile payments are still more of a novelty here in the US, until that changes not much will change on the mobile payments front. One big participant in the ISIS Mobile Wallet (what AT&T, T-Mobile and others are behind), Capital One just pulled out of ISIS, a big player leaving ISIS like that could kill it.

Any thoughts on Verizon adding bloatware and blocking Google Wallet on the Galaxy Nexus?
Sent from my Wallet.
The two "bloatware" apps are actually useful.. and if google wallet is blocked by Verizon, why do I have to flash something to have it on mine when I'm on T-Mobile? It's not like it's pre loaded on GSM variants either..

How to make it a World-Phone (Samsung Galaxy SII - Sprint)

I travel all over the world but my Samsung galaxy SII (Sprint) doesn't work outside the U.S.
Is there a software/MOD I can install it to make it work outside the U.S.
Thank you!
Have you called or talk to sprint?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
It may be possible if where you are traveling to has a cdma network and operates on the same radio frequency. Like people that flash their sprint phones to metro pcs. As far as using it with a foreign GSM network that's not going to happen

LOL our phone does not have GSM hardware. There are a few phones on Verizon like the GS3 which recently had its feature enabled that have GSM radios.
All the phones that have the feature which is eventually enabled officially or by software mods have the hardware and its usually well known that they have the hardware at or just after launch.
You'd need the international version, not the variant editions.

Talked with Sprint and they said Samsung phones are not World Phone and recommended switching to iPhone 4S,
That's wrong because Samsung made an international SGS2 and SGS3 it's just a GSM phone instead of CDMA. As far as I'm tracking there's very few Verizon phones that use sim cards for international use and Sprint doesn't carry any. If travel outside the US for extended periods of time you might be better seeing if sprint will put your account on a hold while your overseas and buying a decent GSM phone for whenever your there.

U should have bought a Motorola photon its world enabled and isn't crapple, that's the only android world phone on sprint that I'm aware of that's currently available, other options are iSuck and crackberry

The sim in vzw phones are for lte not international use, idk if you could unlock it to work internationally or not cuz as far as I'm aware its only connected to the lte radio and not the 1x/3g capable radio and I'm not sure many other countries support lte only hspa+ which transmits on a different frequency than lte does

You can also use Google Voice and Grove Ip and make calls over wifi for the mean time.

I wasn't sure if they would or not, I don't keep up too much with big red wallet rapist, I know on the early lte devices the sim would only work for lte and nothing else, I figured thered be a hack or mod to unlock it tho

Thats why I had suggested getting a GSM phone. Dousche (sp) Telecom two of the biggest euro cell providers are GSM based networks. I know T-Mobile allowed me to freeze my account when I went over to Germany with the army I dunno if sprint would do the same

get a Motorola photon off of ebay, its a world phone alright just pop in any gsm sim of any operator outside US ( plz note it doesnt work with US gsm operators , can be done with some tweaking though ) and it will work out of the box , data will work as well without issues.
and when u are back you can transfer your sprint line onto it.
its a great phone with a whopping backup over gsm.

I just got Google Wallet working on my LG-E980. I'm running madmack's CM 10.2.
It's really simple. Go to the Google Play store and download "Market Helper" by JRummy Apps Inc. It's an addon for their "ROM Toolbox" app. There is nothing to run or do after install. Just go back to the google play store and download/install Google Wallet and it should work (did for me).
I downloaded it without that add on.

LG Viper 4G LTE on Sprint

[CONFIRMED] 4.4.2 KitKat goes Live for Sprint S4

Over at Android Police, there is an article today that says Sprint Galaxy S4s are now receiving the 4.4 update from Google. It is also confirmed in a thread over at the Sprint S4 XDA forum.
According to Android Police, the update has added "Zact Mobile compatibility" - whatever that is - and a Prevention Information popup alert.
For anyone who wants to download the update and tinker with it - PROBABLY BEST NOT TO FLASH IT TO YOUR T-MOBILE DEVICE - it can be downloaded from Google's servers at http://android.clients.google.com/packages/ota/sprint_samsung_l720/8069446ccb676c347a698e64b2df33882547f017.USER_L720_SPT_MK2_CSB_user_RP_to_NAE_CSB_user_RP_Update_FWD.zip
This news is quite odd, given that the international versions haven't received the update yet, and Sprint has probably added their standard bloatware to it. I wonder how long before T-Mobile gets it...
Zact Mobile is a new provider. They're a "virtual provider", using someone else's infrastructure. Not sure which one, but probably Sprint's, since it's a Sprint update.
