Its a little Spotty but I am fortunate I live in a LTE area where on the average I get about 15-25mbs DL and 10-20 UL.

Hey future Evo owners. A lof of talk has been going around to say that the phone is not worth it unless you live in a 4G area, so I was curious if you guys live in a 4G area now, in an area that will soon be 4G (like NYC and LA this summer), or in a 3G area. I could not find how to make a survey, so I am just going to post the question...
I am in a 4G soon area.
Sprint posted that the Orlando Florida area will be getting 4G by end of summer
I don't live or work in a 4G area, however it's only about 25 minutes away (Tacoma, wa) so whenever I go to the "Big City" I'll have 4G.
Well worth it to me.
It'll probably bleed down here soon enough anyway.
the huge 4.3 screen is worth it! your eyes will thanks you!
Portland, OR resident here... the city where it all started
4G coverage here should be quite good since WiMAX has been live the area for ~1.5 years or so.
Live in Atlanta, so I'm covered with 4G. Pretty excited.
I go to school in a 4G area 9 months out of the year, but right now I'm stick in a town that probably won't get 4G for quite some time. Honestly, I doubt I will ever use it outside of showing off to friends thanks to campus wifi and 4G's terrible signal penetration.

Congrats dude, I lived in vegas for awhile, I miss it :/
I'm in phoenix, no 4G here(i know, 5th largest city in the US or something and no plans even, wtf.
I was surprised to find 3 cites in North Carolina have 4G coverage. Not exactly disappointed though...
I wanted the Evo for the phone, and couldn't care less about 4G until I realized last night that I have Clear coverage at work and am on its border at home! Now I'm completely overwhelmed!
I can't wait until tomorrow!
Just wondering if anyone knows when the Sarasota / Bradenton Florida area can expect to see Sprint 4G coverage. Closiest coverage area is about 30 miles north in a town called Gibsonton, just south of Tampa.
Thanks
im already receiving spotty coverage. they seem to have two towers in sarasota already; one on clark and one on 17th and one by oneco in bradenton. their coverage map is a little optimistic with coverage but from my 3rd floor apartment i can pick it up.
Thanks Bro, my office is just west of the Blue Dolphin car wash on Cortez. I do not have 4G here. But your news is good and I see light at the end of the tunnel.
Thx again....
Wow you guys really dont have 4g over there yet that sucks. Hopefully soon!!!!!
Nope, we don't. Had to drive up to Gibsonton to try it out the 1st time and even then it was spotty. A good job does take time however....
I'm south of you in Ft. Myers, and very very spotty 4G coverage just started popping up here too. I haven't actually been able to do anything on 4G yet, thats how weak it is, but at least it's a start, right?
ah, gotcha, thanks for the update and YES, a good job does take time.....
I live in Bradenton and work in Sarasota off of fruitville and honore near i75 , and can pick up a connection for MAYBE 2 minutes at a time . Near the Sarasota airport however I've picked up a signal for a decent amount of time ... hope it's coming soon, especially since Verizon's LTE kicks in on Thursday in SRQ / Bradenton

Im in Long Island,NY with no 4g..That really sucks....
Sarasota Bradenton is large and there is just a little bit in sarasota and none in Bradenton
I'm in a so called "best" coverage area and still get spotty 4G outdoors and none indoors.
I'm just outside of Tampa.
old post but update news
I am able to get 4g lte downtown b-town but kind of on/off
Cortez and 14th st area 4g lte 3-4 bars
Between university and fruit ville on 75 4g lte 2-3 bars but drops out quickly.
Wish I knew where that tower was...
According to Engadget, looks like Sprint's LTE network has been turned on in Kansas City. Anybody have a chance to check it out yet?
What speeds are you seeing? Anyone in any other cities notice 4g??

Quote from Engadget's post:
A few weeks back, Sprint had said its fresh Long Term Evolution waves would be hitting a total of five markets by July 15th, but it looks like one lucky city is seeing the changes kick in a wee bit earlier than expected. According to S4GRU, the site's been hit with endless tips from folks like yourself, all claiming The Now Network's LTE signal is now live in Kansas City, while others are also noticing the speed boosts in places like St. Joseph, Manhattan and Missouri. How about you, though? Is your shiny new LTE-capable slab (read: Galaxy S III or EVO 4G LTE) now getting the "true 4G" treatment? Feel free to let us know in the comments below.

Here in north houston i had the best LTE experience but at my work by 290 and beltway 8 experienced data problems. 3g one minute 4g another minute then nothing. Called sprint they said for me to switch to cdma for now til tomorrow because they where working on towers and should be done thursday. The lady specified that on thursday to turn back to LTE/CDMA and update prl and profile and call back and they will credit me back. I was too much of in a hurry to ask what kind of credit anyone have a idea whats there meaning or "Credit"?

Hows your 3g speed?
I live in Atascocita and I've experienced hit or miss 4G. Strangely, when I go to work (Baytown), it pops up fairly frequently.
i get solid LTE in Cypress... particularly around Louetta nd Grant... I got decent LTE over on Westheimer just west of the Galleria... Oh and also got solid LTE around Tidwell/Hollister and 290... these were all places where i was inside a building not driving thru...
Im guessing 290 and beltway 8 is just a bad area slow 3g by my work even though i see all these phone towers
Maybe they will be releasing LTE in Maryland soon then.
Waiting for LTE in New Jersey and all of New York state/city. Im hearing a lot of good things about it and from the screen shots in the other threads it seems like our phones are gonna be pretty fast. Cant wait for 800mhz and Clearwire TD LTE to be launched.

I am looking for some feedback. I am currently working on T-Mobile 4g/LTE network upgrade in the NY Metro Market. There is only a couple of sites in NY where LTE is actually turned on. We are building like crazy in NY, the sites are integrated with LTE but 99% are not turned on.
But I was wondering if anyone is currently using the ZL with T-mobile in the NY Metro market. What kind of speeds are you getting and how is the service? I have another 2 months with ATT before my contract ends. And i was considering this option.
sadly I live in manhattan ny still no lte for me.
so as u siad u work for tmobile 4g/lte upgrade network
do u know how soon lte will turn on in manhattan?
I have been doing nothing but Manhattan site for the past month. I joined 6 months after they started. Tmobile is making a big push for NYC. I havent heard yet when they plan to turn on LTE. I think they want to complete a majority of Manhattan site before turning it on. We have been doing the outer boroughs but not to the same extent of Manhattan.
Hows the service now that you have? Have you noticed at least a speed increase and better coverage?
Speed for me right now are same like before
Here is speed test.I just can't wait LTE.

coverage and service all good
I haven't any problem with that.
Yesterday was the first time I got LTE in NYC. It was on the subway platform so the signal is likely to be stronger. On both Columbus Circle and Rockefeller Center stops i got 5 bars of LTE. I got an average of 14 down, 3.5 up and 40ms ping.
I'm on the $30 Walmart T-Mob plan so i'm pretty happy to see you get LTE on that plan as well.
I work a few blocks from Rockefeller. I'm only getting 2-5 Mbps down, ~10 Mbps up. I don't know what happened lately overall with T-Mobile's LTE speeds. I know in Manhattan, it's crowded and there's a lot of stress on the network. But in my neighborhood (Bay Ridge, Brooklyn), I used to be able to pull down 25 Mbps on my Note 2. Now it's around 5-9 Mbps on LTE.
