I need an advice before I commit a mistake...Please - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I just broke my N2 screen, and boooyyy is expensive to fix. So Im thinking about switching from N2 to the Mega 6.3, but only issue is that that i9205 international version is LTE international (not US compatible LTE) only band LTE that is noted in that list is 2100 band that might be compatible, my question is would still get LTE on ATT? Do I need to add the 700 and 1700 band to make it work? How would I do that if so? Please guide me bcuz i can barely use the phone with out cutting my fingers while txting or my face while answering a call...
BTW the Samsung Mega 6.3 gt-i9205 is factory Unlocked!!!

Buying a non-compatible device doesn't really sound like the best idea to me. .
And regarding LTE function. ..
You would need to search in the proper section for that device to find information. ..
It is doubtful that users here will have information about the 6.3....let alone a radio image and RIL files to make it work. .
Happy hunting. ..
I'd fix the note 2...IMHO....g

The mega isn't even in the same ballpark as the note 2...
Would be a huge, huge downgrade

Just get the NOTE 3 when it drops this fall LOL
Or just get a REFURB NOTE 2 or just ebay one. NOTE all the WAY!!

If the phone still works and only the front glass is shattered, why don't you just buy a front glass for around $20, watch a few YouTube videos on how to replace the front glass and fix your device for waaayyyy cheaper than it'll cost you to replace it with another device!

I did this and it saved me a bundle. There are a few drawbacks though.
1. In the process of replacing screen you remove the adhesive that adheres it to the glass. I seem this make viewing the screen in direct sunlight more difficult. Tough this is probably better than having a broken screen.
2. There is a risk of damaging your display. The person who was helping me didn't do I a good job keeping the heat gun moving, though I kept telling him. So the consecrated heat damaged one spot on the display that has a yellowish tint about the size of a quarter. Still better than the broken screen. Just be sure to not go over board with the heat gun.
I do it again without hesitation if I had too. It worth a shot.

My gnex has a broken screen and is a GSM that I'm using on t mo. What I want to know is if I buy a Verizon version with a bad esn would the screen on the cdma version work on the GSM one.
Also a bonus question would I be able to put the 32 gb memory in the GSM version.

Possibly... but the phones are definitely not built the exact same (just take the battery cover off and you'll see). So I'd need someone with more technical knowledge of the differences to chime in.
Depending on how much you're paying for that you might be better off selling yours for parts and buying a new one since they're only $399 now.

Definitely no.
They definitely have some differences in parts. When I had an issue with one of my GSM versions I remember looking up tear downs for both and they were a lot more differences that I originally thought. I'd be very cautious attempting to put a part from the cdma variant into GSM until you're 100% sure it'll work. Hopefully someone here can confirm.

They are all the same, just the screen though not the body frame. The processor placement is different on international version.

well...
I think you have to get the screen and the body housing together, same thing happened to me but on my international version.I tried to just get the screen and bezel, but I was told I had to get the housing as well. I ended up just getting it repaired somewhere for like $230.00 still cheaper than buying from amazon. Good luck!
You had a cover on it just for reference

[Q] Getting the Phone and Sms.apk On AT&T Galaxy Tab 3 7.0?

So i decided to trade in my Nexus 7 for Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 since it was on sale and the fact it could be used as my main device for calling people instead of using my galaxy note 2. I even watched some reviews for it and saw the Tab with a Phone and Messaging app. But me being me after buying the Tab 3 and looking like a fool in a AT&T store, I realized that the one i bought was the AT&T model instead of the international one. I like the Tab 3 now and was wondering is it possible to get the Phone and Messaging app from the international one and port it to the AT&T one?

I do not believe that it has the necessary hardware built into it so that it can get a phone and mms apk working.
Id say.. return it to att and get your dough$$ back..
Then get the T-211 from Amazon or Negri or Ebay.. or go one bigger and get the 8 incher.... and just swap your sim card from your Note 2 into your new tab and BAM!! A 7 inch phone.... BUT.. NO LTE though.... still H+ is damm good speed in STL where I am...7-9 MPS d/l's...
good luck

check them out for yourself.....
for a few bucks more... go for a larger screen with an 8"incher... it has thin bezels, so the overall dimensions arent that much if any from the 7 inch.
I had a note...with ATT GO phone sim..... pull the sim out and put it in my Galaxy mega...
Bam...6.3 inch phone....
Pull the sim out of the mega.... jam it in my T315 8".. and guess what??
BAM!! an 8 inch phone..works just like your phone... make and receive calls, mms, data,cams.. everything.. at the same time even..
Look at the pictures of the devices..
See the green phone ICON on the home screens??
just like your phone has now!!
good luck

From what I've seen in pictures for motherboards on ebay, the antennae connection looks to be in the same location. As for other components idk if their locations are 100% same... So it Might fit...might...
you could just switch to sprint, they have a great promotion running {laughing out loud} /s

I got too tired of waiting for perm root/bootloader unlock soooo.....

I got a nexus 6. Traded it for my Note 4, plus the guy gave me 50 bucks. So that sweetened the deal for me. Overall I'm very happy with the trade, especially because I have an unlocked bootloader and can put any rom I want on it. So happy beyond belief. I'm sorry to anyone still stuck on their ATT note 4. It was pure boredom for me. Wish everyone on this forum luck, and it was fun while it lasted with you guys!

I feel l ya.
Personally, I won't own a Nexus. I need a top notch camera, and it just falls short.
But between the Note 5 lacking expandable memory, I have chosen to go with the LV V10 (when released) as my next phone, even though I love the Note line. And, of course, AT&T will not ever be in my carrier line again.
This video had some pretty nifty tips to address the battery and expandable memory issues in the note 5 - https://youtu.be/lFyZ5YyAsk4..
Everyone carries a battery pack anyway and I've personally not replaced the battery on note 4 since I bought it last year..

I'm happy for you. Personally I will never buy another Samsung phone again from AT&T. If they want government contracts that much then go right ahead. I'm going to definitely get new LG V10 when it comes out but hoping that the bootloader isn't locked and that I can at least put in a 128gb micr sd memory card. With Samsung doing what they did to make the S6 more like the Note series it's safe to say that the Galaxy Note series is officially dead. It's crazy how Samsung sacrificed their best selling line of phones for another line of phones that fail every year in sales and customer satisfaction. You would have thought that the Galaxy Note series would've became Samsung's new flagship phone. Wish I still had my Note 3 cause it was rooted but I'm stuck now with the Note 4. LG V10 or an iPhone cause those are my only options.

Couple things.
First, placing your pictures in Google, according to their policy you agree to when you use it, allows them to use any of those pictures for advertisement of their products or services. And they can do so without your permission, since you agree to it by using them to store your pics. Frankly, I'm not too keen on that one.
Also, since I listen to a lot of music, but get songs from different sources, Google Music is not an option since you can't listen to songs through them that was not purchased through them.
Music & pictures/camera are my primary concerns when buying a new phone, and I use a lot of space for them. On my Note 4, I've got a 128gb card with a 32gb phone, and I'm down to 12 gigs on the card and 6 on the phone. But personally, I love having everything I want at my fingertips without using external storage or needing to be around a signal.

I'm a die hard Google music user. I uploaded my entire music collection to Google. Over 100 gigs total. None of it was purchased through google. I stream it every day from their app without problems.

With 5.1.1 the note 4 is a brand new phone ?, i am actually liking the phone and functionality. It's smooth and just feels good to use. If you haven't updated you need to, update to the 5.1.1 on att totally worth the trouble.

So, Im with you guys on this... I CANNOT use an unrooted phone. Problem is, I also MUST have a stylus with pin point precision... Can anyone help me out bc I cant find a single device (NO APPLE) that has one besides the note line! I would go back to my Note 2 if the screen wassnt smashed... Are their ANY options for my needs? TIA!
Find a t-mobile version of the Note 4, unlock it and use it on AT&T. It's rootable and flashable.

Looking at the specs for both, it looks like they're MOSTLY identical...except that AT&T and T-Mo have most, but not all, of the same frequencies for UMTS and LTE bands. Everything seems the same, except:
AT&T
UMTS 900 (Band 8)LTE 2600 (Band 7)T-Mobile
UMTS 1700/2100 (Band 4)LTE 900 (Band 8)LTE 1800 (Band 3)
Are the frequencies that AT&T and T-Mo share, those frequencies that they both use most commonly, and the above frequencies are mostly just for increasing available bandwidth for their respective networks? Or is it possible that either of them might use only the above bands, in some areas?
I have no idea about frequency stuff. All I know is that I've read on here about people getting the t-mobile version specifically because the AT&T version is not rootable.
Frequencies Matter

Yes, the frequencies between AT&T and T-Mobile are different and do matter when it comes to data. You will not be able to get access to all towers LTE tech unless the phone has the proper hardware in it. It will limit your 4G usage but you could at least have a rooted phone. You kind of have to pick your poison in that regards.

I hope the other guy sees this, then. I'm not in the market to swap phones. I'm fine on my stock AT&T note 4. This makes sense, though.

Actually, from what I could tell, if pdadb.net and wikipedia have their respective info correct (and current), the only frequencies the T-Mobile version doesn't have, that the AT&T version has, are frequencies that aren't even used by any U.S. carriers. According to pdadb.net, the frequencies the AT&T version can use, that aren't available on the T-Mobile Note 4 are UMTS 900 (Band 8), and LTE 2600 (Band 7). According to this Wikipedia article, the LTE2600 band isn't in use anywhere in the US. It's used in Canada, but I don't anticipate visiting there, or anywhere else outside of the US, any time soon. (There's another article that shows similar info about the UMTS900 band, but that's even less relevant.)
So, it looks like I'm looking for a T-Mobile Note 4, if I can find one for cheap, that's not too scratched up, or anything.
I just gave up on my att note 4. Switched to the T-mobile version.
