[Q] How do you get back AOSP Contacts? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hi all,
I am running the latest AOSP Illusion ROM. I replaced the AOSP Contacts with Go Contacts and removed it from my home screen. I went to go access it again thinking it would be in the app menue but I do not see it at all. I think it is still there as I see it in my TB back up.
How do I access this again and get it on my screen or app menue?

Can't Open Contacts - Helmi_c(V1.1)

Hi everyone,
I've recently upgraded my Rom to Helmi_c(V1.1) - which is really nifty by the way helmi . Everything's been spot on until this morning when I noticed that I couldn't open 'Contacts' on my phone, when I select it, it seems to open for a split second (The word Contacts appears in the title bar) before it closes and I'm back at the Today menu. Obviously this is a bit of a pain, does anyone have any ideas how this can be fixed or should I just reflash and start again?
Ah well, I just bit the bullet and re-flashed the device with the same rom and all is working now! I wonder what happened?
Possibly some software conflict, preventing contacts from opening.
You should have tried "Add Receipient" from Messaging and check if you were able to bring up the contacts list.
ok, I'm having the exact same problem. On a Apache, right after upgrading to aku 3.5
Didn't work. Any other suggestions ?

push gmail

I am using a stock rooted fire atm and really like it. I like being able to switch back and forth between my adw launcher and the stock launcher.
One thing I cannot seem to figure out is how to get gmail to push. Since the stock rom has no "accounts and sync" setting maybe that is what is causing it. Is there a way for gmail to push to the fire without using a non-stock rom? I always have to go into menu and hit refresh in the gmail app.
EDIT - I found another thread where someone had the answer and a nice .apk to get into the sync settings or you can just get there through the gmail app but I didn't know that. Would have probably found it sooner but searching seems to be down.

Display issue? Help!

Hello
I just got my GNex, and i noticed that i see a wave effect centering from the bottom center on the background in contacts application, even more visible when i pull down the status bar.
I dont see it anywhere else. Not in message app background or in web. Just in contacts. Im thinking its because of grey-ish white background in the contacts app.
Is this normal?
If it isnt, is there a way to fix it?

It is normal if it occurs in only one application.
Just Reflash the rom if your using a rom.
If you stock and rooted, just back up contacts with Rom Toolbox and delete the original one. Then restore it without data first. If all is well then data next.
If fails repeat but don't restore data.
Back up ur contacts first.
Edit1: can't confirm if I have the same problem since I'm using a sense theme.
Edit2: do the method for stock if reflashing doesnt fix anything.

[Q] Messaging apps keep quiting

I rooted my phone for the first time the other day and have had a TON of problems getting my apps and data back. I installed cyanogenmod clockwork and it worked fine up until i had to get my apps back. Once i got everything back, my messaging apps keep quitting like the second i open it up. I also keep getting errors like exchange services quit and stuff like that. A lot of people said to install go sms pro. I installed it and it didn't quit, but i sent a message to my friend and it didn't work. I clicked send and i went back to the messages screen and it wasn't there. So I'm not really sure what to do. I have android 4.2.2 with 3.4.45 cyanogenmod kernel if that helps. I'm new to this so I'm not sure what info you need. Thanks
Install another custom Rom like Task650's aokp. As for backing apps and messages and stuff, use Go Backup or Titanium Backup
Good luck!

Bluetooth MAP on Cyanogenmod

I did a backup of all my apps when I was running Goodness before I switched to Cyanogen. Only reason I didn't switch earlier is I liked that my car would receive my text messages on the screen, and also pull in my contacts photos.
After I installed and configured Cyanogen 10.1 RC 5 I was restoring my apps and decided to restore an app called MAPServiceSamsung 4.1.2-L710VPBMD4.
In the past in my car with Cyan, I didn't have an option for messages. Now I do. And sometimes, they show up. Its a little buggy, but partially working.
I am wondering if we could get the 4.2.2 version of this file from another S3, maybe the international version that would work.
Thoughts?
