I am not sure the name of them but I know there were a few tablet only games floating around before I had a tablet to play them on, I was hoping maybe someone here knew what those were? Maybe we can build a list of Tablet Only games, not just games that work on the tablet but ones that ONLY will install and play on tablets.
I don't think tablet only games exist...

I know there are at least a few, remember reading about some back when I didn't care...and trying to install them on my phone only to get unsupported device.
Unsupported device doesn't mean it's a tablet app.
Optimized tablets games exist ( I guess) but not specific to tablets, meaning only available on tablets.
GTA 3 was tegra 3 optimized. But it was also available on other devices.

No, but generally when you get unsupported on multiple phones and it says in the description **Tablet Only** It is, I remember at least a couple that had this, this "discussion" is pointless at this time, if you don't have a game to add then just let the thread fall until someone does.

Can I get NOVA2 for my xperia play through the Android Market? I have the game as I got for my Nexus S, but when I try downloading it on my Xperia Play, I am allow to download the game but when the start screen appears, it says my phone is not supported. Is funny as others not-supported games would usually not appear in the android marker, but this appear even though it will later tell me is not supported. Is the only way of getting this game through the Gameloft website?
Strange , I got it off the market with no problems....

You bought the OMAP version of Nova 2, Just because you now own a play dosent mean you are allowed a free copy of the snapdragon version. Thats why it's not compatible.
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
First of all, Nexus s is not omap, is hummingbird. And thr android market doesn't work as the gameloft wap store does. The android market will provide an apk based on the device that accesses it.
So if i buy something in any of my devices i can download it again in my other devices and i should get the right apk(provided that the developer provides different apk for different devices, which almost noone does). And android run in dalvik so i dont need different apks for different architetures. And that thing of buying an omap/snapdradon/etc version doesn't make anysense because i bought 9mm, tintin and order and chaos in my xperia and i can also play them in my nexus S.
Sent from my R800x using Tapatalk
I am pretty sure is just the screwup system for device detection that gameloft uses in all of its games. Good example is tintin, where a lot of people with high-end phones are getting the 2d version of thr game becuase apparently thir phone doesn't meet the minimum requirements(and i am talking SGS2 and GNex). Screw gameloft they should abandon their wapstore.

Actually the samsung hummimgbird is an OMAP based chip, infact it's almost identical to the A8. Whether or not you are right about the way gameloft games work in the market i'm not sure, i know i had to purchase all my gameloft games again when i moved to the play.

I purchased NOVA 2 on the Market during one of the Android Market only sales they had. It installed but when i tried to start it it told me it was incompatible with my device and would not download the additional files. Luckily it was within the 15 minute window and I deleted and refunded it.
It still comes up on the market for me as compatible but its not so I would suggest to those who have downloaded it from there, refund it immediately.

Must be an R800x thing, just like with MC3. Except MC3 at least prevents you from downloading it, they likely forgot to mark off the R800x in the developer console when they loaded NOVA 2 to the market.
SO I stand corrected, if you have an R800x do not download NOVA 2 from the market.

Hi,
I am looking for a game to play on Nexus 7.
A starcraft like strategy game with offline mode (no server connection), and also possibility of multiplayer over LAN or internet would be great.
Any ideas of such Android game ?
Thanks.

Why does this app show up as incompatible? It's a tablet app it should work!
Anywhere I can just gets the apk to try it out?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Just because it's a tablet app does not automatically equate to compatibility. It could be that the app is dependent on a 10.1" screen or rear camera.
That being said, it seems that the tablet app is far less polished than the mobile app anyway. I wouldn't even bother with it.

Problem with that is apps would get unjust negative reviews from idiots that install apps that aren't compatible with their hardware. Not directing that at you personally... just something that I've seen happen a few too many times.

I agree with the OP in that I would like to see filters replaced by advisements but your point is well taken.
The app developer did not write in the resources for all sizes of devices. Its in a manifest type file that play store reads. The play store does not monitor or control apps or app quality and rather its up to the developer to specify what device its built for.
So short of starting arguments. Email developer of the app. That is the only one who can help.
Good luck.
I did actually, I got a response "we have no information on that item at this time, sorry for the inconvenience".
I know why they filters are in place but it can be annoying. To me a nexus device is the android standard, any application that is relevant should show up in the market, but it doesn't. It's also frustrating in the case of upgrading, like when I upgraded from my aging Samsung Captivate to my HTC Vivid that has twice the power, and yet a fraction of compatibility. I seriously have games that I played on my captivate that won't show for the Vivid. So what your saying is a single core Galaxy S phone with 512mb of ram and an aging power vr sgx540 can play Nova 2 just fine but a Qualcomm Snapdragon s3 with a dual core processor and a gig of ram and an adreno 230 gpu can't? Doesn't make much sense to me.
I am using that as an example but it is a true one. I no longer game on my phone as I use the nexus now but it does seem ridiculous that upgrading to a better phone or tablet can break your compatibility.

Graphics
Anyone got any idea how to enable the max graphics? I don't even have the game yet, but I'm POSITIVE the Nexus 4 can handle full graphics at above 30 FPS. It's GPU is nearly 3x more powerful than the Tegra 3 one.
Can't wait till more people purchase it for multiplayer. I can't wait to pick up a controller and get it to work with this game. I haven't played it much, but so far its good.

Chainfire 3D is the only way as far as I know... unfortunately Gameloft is terrible at optimizing their games, the N7 runs at full effects even though it has a GPU less than half as powerful as the N4.

It's not compatible with 4.0 or Jelly Bean according to the description of the app.
I just tested Chainfire 3D (granted, on a different device, but that should not make a difference) and it did not enable the higher effects (as it didn't with MC3, either, and both are developed by Gameloft Montreal, I suppose this makes sense). So... there's no real way to enable the high graphics.
Gameloft disabled the effects for a reason... they don't know how to optimize their stuff for most GPUs, so with all effects enabled, I bet it lagged in their testing.
could you guys not just change the model in the build prop on the nexus 4 to that of nexus 7 ?
Does anyone know if the deviceconfig.xml trick works for MC4?
Anyone know if I should get the moga control or ps3 one? I already bought the six axis app a while back.. Any suggestions? Thanks
