Can I get NOVA2 for my xperia play through the Android Market? I have the game as I got for my Nexus S, but when I try downloading it on my Xperia Play, I am allow to download the game but when the start screen appears, it says my phone is not supported. Is funny as others not-supported games would usually not appear in the android marker, but this appear even though it will later tell me is not supported. Is the only way of getting this game through the Gameloft website?
Strange , I got it off the market with no problems....

You bought the OMAP version of Nova 2, Just because you now own a play dosent mean you are allowed a free copy of the snapdragon version. Thats why it's not compatible.
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
First of all, Nexus s is not omap, is hummingbird. And thr android market doesn't work as the gameloft wap store does. The android market will provide an apk based on the device that accesses it.
So if i buy something in any of my devices i can download it again in my other devices and i should get the right apk(provided that the developer provides different apk for different devices, which almost noone does). And android run in dalvik so i dont need different apks for different architetures. And that thing of buying an omap/snapdradon/etc version doesn't make anysense because i bought 9mm, tintin and order and chaos in my xperia and i can also play them in my nexus S.
Sent from my R800x using Tapatalk
I am pretty sure is just the screwup system for device detection that gameloft uses in all of its games. Good example is tintin, where a lot of people with high-end phones are getting the 2d version of thr game becuase apparently thir phone doesn't meet the minimum requirements(and i am talking SGS2 and GNex). Screw gameloft they should abandon their wapstore.

Actually the samsung hummimgbird is an OMAP based chip, infact it's almost identical to the A8. Whether or not you are right about the way gameloft games work in the market i'm not sure, i know i had to purchase all my gameloft games again when i moved to the play.

I purchased NOVA 2 on the Market during one of the Android Market only sales they had. It installed but when i tried to start it it told me it was incompatible with my device and would not download the additional files. Luckily it was within the 15 minute window and I deleted and refunded it.
It still comes up on the market for me as compatible but its not so I would suggest to those who have downloaded it from there, refund it immediately.

Rogue Leader which modek is your xperia play? R800x? I assume is a problem with only this device, because all my other games work across my DROID, Nexus S, galaxy tab and xperia play.

The snapdragon and the hummingbird are the two processors that are closely related, i dont know where the omap fits in this family.

Must be an R800x thing, just like with MC3. Except MC3 at least prevents you from downloading it, they likely forgot to mark off the R800x in the developer console when they loaded NOVA 2 to the market.
SO I stand corrected, if you have an R800x do not download NOVA 2 from the market.

I think it's weird how this phone comes preloaded with a demo of Nova 2 hd. Which I didn't try and uninstalled, but the game on the market doesn't support our device.
Anyone have any luck getting it to work? Was wantin some cool games.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Yea, played it this morning. Kinda cool. But before you can play, the game had to update or something, like 300 mbs of something.
Nova2 for the i9100 works fine as does gtracing
Nova 2 is preloaded on yours?
Wait, it is only a demo?

Yep, just a demo. Visiting their site through the phone only gives Spiderman and UNO as options. There's a handful of other titles on the Market but none of their really big titles.
Being as the international GSII and the E4GT are basically identical I assumed Gameloft would have more titles listed as compatible at launch (especially Order & Chaos and Black Pegasus). Given their track record that was a bit presumptuous of me.
Bang bang racing looks visually impressive maybe too much for the xperia play to run?
From what ive read if youve rooted your phone installed chainfire 3d and then installed the nvidia tegra2 drivers the play can run SOME tegra 2 games?
I was just wondering if anyone who knows what there doing has got bang bang racing running on there xperia play before i spend the next few hours messing up my phone trying
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
I can't attest to how well the XPlay will run Bang Bang Racing, but Chainfire3D will definitely run Tegra games. Follow these instructions:
http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/25/how-to-install-and-use-chainfire3d-on-samsung-galaxy-s2/
They're for the Galaxy S2, but it's the same process. It works.
Nice one for that i will try and get chainfire up and running on my play. I thought the galaxy s2 had a tegra 2 chipset anyway what do u need chainfire for?
Bang bang racing anyone... Any luck?

Galaxy S2 does not have at tegra 2 chipset. It has a better gpu than the current tegra 2 chips.

The Mali-400 GPU in the GS2 is only better, as it's a newer generation of chip. Once Nvida release the Tega III in a couple of months, it will be pretty outdated

It was released exclusively for LG spectrum phones back in January this year before being available to everyone on play store, was rumoured to be out on play store in may but still waiting, it most likely on be compatable with dual core devices an up so the rumours say.

Ridiculous releasing street fighter just for lg spectrum, I take gnex with jellybean over a stupid lg phone with this game, I would buy a iPhone if I wanted street fighter that bad.

Yes, this is the version I was talking about (in last comments you can find, that all users with ICS have that multitouch error).
Now is the main problem, that with Jellybean the Chainfire3D plugin is not working (phone won't reboot after installation), so I can't play it now.
They will probably never release it?

It's also possible it's a paid app that he doesn't want to pay for only to find out that it doesn't even work.

Okay I've looked into it, I might actually purchase this because it looks awesome. Love RPGs but I saw reviews from the play store to internet saying it runs great with no issues. I did see someone mentioned Two versions of the game - HD/SD. I'm assuming you bought the SD version.
But yes the nexus seems to play it fine, I'm sure it might run a bit slower compared to a tablet lol but I will also say it will depend on your ROM/Kernel choice too. I'm sure there won't be issues but you never know .
Anyway hoped that helped, I really probably buy this but by the time I'm ready to purchase my info probably won't be helpful lol.

Thank you. There is only one version of the game, just when you download it on a device with Tegra 3 (Nexus 7 ) it will give you the option for HD data that's about 3.2gb. I'm downloading it now, I've only played about an hour on my N7 but it is an awesome game, very funny. I really recommend you buy it. I'm using stock JB with root and trinity, i hope it runs well.

I did, its a fantastic game so far! I'm playing with everything maximum/ water "on"/shadows all etc. Running fine with no lag.
I am however disappointed in the audio, its pretty low quality from headphones not sure about speaker. But damn its a wonderful game, this might be the only game I continue to play on my android. Besides Mcpixel another game I suggest you buy if love humor. I never usually play on my android but this game has got me skin deep lol.
Thanks for letting me know about this game.

I am not sure the name of them but I know there were a few tablet only games floating around before I had a tablet to play them on, I was hoping maybe someone here knew what those were? Maybe we can build a list of Tablet Only games, not just games that work on the tablet but ones that ONLY will install and play on tablets.
I don't think tablet only games exist...

I know there are at least a few, remember reading about some back when I didn't care...and trying to install them on my phone only to get unsupported device.
Unsupported device doesn't mean it's a tablet app.
Optimized tablets games exist ( I guess) but not specific to tablets, meaning only available on tablets.
GTA 3 was tegra 3 optimized. But it was also available on other devices.

No, but generally when you get unsupported on multiple phones and it says in the description **Tablet Only** It is, I remember at least a couple that had this, this "discussion" is pointless at this time, if you don't have a game to add then just let the thread fall until someone does.
