It was released exclusively for LG spectrum phones back in January this year before being available to everyone on play store, was rumoured to be out on play store in may but still waiting, it most likely on be compatable with dual core devices an up so the rumours say.

It takes ages for them to release it. However, I play some version extracted from LG on my Nexus S. I am perfectly willing to buy this game, but when they release it? Maybe they even canceled it, who knows...

Ridiculous releasing street fighter just for lg spectrum, I take gnex with jellybean over a stupid lg phone with this game, I would buy a iPhone if I wanted street fighter that bad.

Yes, this is the version I was talking about (in last comments you can find, that all users with ICS have that multitouch error).
Now is the main problem, that with Jellybean the Chainfire3D plugin is not working (phone won't reboot after installation), so I can't play it now.
They will probably never release it?

Upgrading from sgs2 to galaxy nexus?

My main reasons are for the bigger screen, design, LED. Do you think I'm being stupid?
Btw 16gb is more than enough for me so no need of sd card, almost never play games, don't really use camera and saw sample photos from galaxy nexus it looked good and even better than Iphone 4s to me.

Nope, I don't. I would do the exact same thing. And I REALLY wanted the SGSII to come to verizon as well. So that tells you it's a smart choice IMO?

It is your money and if it makes you happy do what you want to do. You could probably sell your galaxy s2 and have most of the galaxy nexus paid for unlocked.

In the same boat here and it really is a difficult decision. In one mind I love my GS2 but the 720p display, pure google experience and notification led is certainly attractive!
I just returned my AT&T GS2 a few minutes ago and I'll be picking up the Galaxy Nexus. I really liked the GS2, but as a Nexus One owner, there's nothing like owning a Nexus!

it's more of a side grade from SGS2 to GN, but if you count the screen, then yeah the larger 720p is an upgrade

Try visiting the SGS2 section.
Well friends have taken the hard decision,,sold my SGS 2 to one of my friend{at a very good price},,now waiting for Samsung Galaxy Nexus to launch in India next week,,have used{still using} Nexus 1 & the notification led and stock google experience and a huge development support is great.
So going for Galaxy Nexus
Fast updates and software support is enough reason to ditch GS2 for the galaxy nexus. Especially now that manufacturers are beginning to move to next stage of hardware. 720p will be the next standard for screen resolution. and when android 5.0/jelly bean comes, Galaxy Nexus will be getting it officially. And Galaxy S2 might not.

I'd definitely go with any Nexus device over any other Android phone simply because of the updates. Google will keep their promise to keep their devices updated for the minimum 18 months that they're asking all the other manufacturers to do. Samsung apparently isn't going to update the SGS1 even though it could handle the update (has nearly the same specs as the NS for crying out loud) and they'll more than likely try to skin 4.0 when they do get around to updating. I remember waiting and waiting and waiting for my Vibrant to get 2.2 before I finally ditched it for the Nexus S. Never looked back after that choice. You will not be disappointed with your decision to sell and wait for the GN.

It still takes time for developers to port official android updates to non nexus device. so basically the nexus line up gets the fastest, conplete, less buggy and timely updates.

[Q] NOVA2 for XPERIA PLAY?

Can I get NOVA2 for my xperia play through the Android Market? I have the game as I got for my Nexus S, but when I try downloading it on my Xperia Play, I am allow to download the game but when the start screen appears, it says my phone is not supported. Is funny as others not-supported games would usually not appear in the android marker, but this appear even though it will later tell me is not supported. Is the only way of getting this game through the Gameloft website?
Strange , I got it off the market with no problems....

You bought the OMAP version of Nova 2, Just because you now own a play dosent mean you are allowed a free copy of the snapdragon version. Thats why it's not compatible.
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk
First of all, Nexus s is not omap, is hummingbird. And thr android market doesn't work as the gameloft wap store does. The android market will provide an apk based on the device that accesses it.
So if i buy something in any of my devices i can download it again in my other devices and i should get the right apk(provided that the developer provides different apk for different devices, which almost noone does). And android run in dalvik so i dont need different apks for different architetures. And that thing of buying an omap/snapdradon/etc version doesn't make anysense because i bought 9mm, tintin and order and chaos in my xperia and i can also play them in my nexus S.
Sent from my R800x using Tapatalk
I am pretty sure is just the screwup system for device detection that gameloft uses in all of its games. Good example is tintin, where a lot of people with high-end phones are getting the 2d version of thr game becuase apparently thir phone doesn't meet the minimum requirements(and i am talking SGS2 and GNex). Screw gameloft they should abandon their wapstore.

Actually the samsung hummimgbird is an OMAP based chip, infact it's almost identical to the A8. Whether or not you are right about the way gameloft games work in the market i'm not sure, i know i had to purchase all my gameloft games again when i moved to the play.

I purchased NOVA 2 on the Market during one of the Android Market only sales they had. It installed but when i tried to start it it told me it was incompatible with my device and would not download the additional files. Luckily it was within the 15 minute window and I deleted and refunded it.
It still comes up on the market for me as compatible but its not so I would suggest to those who have downloaded it from there, refund it immediately.

Must be an R800x thing, just like with MC3. Except MC3 at least prevents you from downloading it, they likely forgot to mark off the R800x in the developer console when they loaded NOVA 2 to the market.
SO I stand corrected, if you have an R800x do not download NOVA 2 from the market.

When do you think Google will stop supporting the Galaxy Nexus with updates?

I know we all wish the Nexus will be supported for many years to come but being realistic about it, when do you think Google will drop support for the Galaxy Nexus?
This is a relatively powerful device so it should have official updates for at least until the end of 2013, right?

Realistically, I would say 5.x will be the last.
However, unlike Apple, who wants you to keep buying devices, Google just wants you to keep using the software, so it would be dumb of them to stop supporting Nexus phones after 2 years.
I voted 5.x, it just depends on how many incremental updates there are.
Nexus One released with 2.1
Nexus S released with 2.3
Galaxy Nexus released with 4.0
So for all we know, the next Nexus phone could be Android 4.2, 4.3, etc.
The one after that could be 4.4, 4.5, etc.
Just depends on how long they stretch out the versions.
And we all know each version most likely will branch out within, like 4.1.2, etc. so nobody really can probably give a good guess.
Although since dual core by no means is slacking in hardware for most apps, etc. compared to the N1 and Nexus S with single cores.
I don't see the GNex dropping off the radar for at least 2-3 years, no matter what.
I think it will hang in the top of phones for update for three years at least.it has good hardware and it was the first phone to recieve jellybean, and it will be the first or at least second,if google releases a new nexus,to recieve a next android update.look at the nexus s,it is single core,a bit old-ish,and it recieved jellybean update second.

Yes, but why not support a phone for at least 2 more major versions considering that Google's goal is to have people use the software that connects them to Google services? It doesn't matter that the phone is 2 years old, as long as the software keeps working on it and connects people to the cloud or whatnot.
The Nexus One was always stuck in the 2.x version of Android. This makes no sense considering their gameplan.

I assume that the Nexus One was dropped because it has just 256MB RAM. Judging from how much RAM Android 4 eats up on my Galaxy Nexus, it would require some serious modifications to trim down the RAM usage.

Hopefully its to announce an HTC Nexus to go with the LG.
I really hope for a new nexus device at this event but
I feel like there isn't going to be one because
the invitation says "The playground is open"
I think this will most likely be all about update to maybe 4.2 and stuff related to the play store.
More software and little to no hardware.
I know there are lots of leaks of new nexus devices but
this is just my personal opinion.
Anyways, can't wait for this event to happen!
Just announce the already well known Nexus 4 and then a Nexus 5.
and kill off all these rumors already.

Quad cores don't need any maturing. The s4 pro uses the same CPU cores as the s4 ( dual core). The big improvement is on the GPU side. The pro has a next gen gpu while the regular had a aging GPU because the new one was not ready
People get caught up on the dual vs quad all the time. As well clock speeds. Unless you're comparing chips of the same family they are basically useless
I'd rather have an A15 dualcore instead of an A9 quadcore.
Then you would be waiting until sometime in 2013 unfortunately.
Will Google launch several nexus devices?

Nexus 5??

Check this out. Should i buy a nexus 4 or wait for this monster to come out??

Still not relevant.
First off, thats a render. Something anyone can do in Photoshop. So dont get too excited. Second, that may not be a "Nexus" device. Google bought Motorola a while ago and was rumored to be making a phone with them. It May or may not be the next nexus. Bottom line, no one knows what will be announced at Google I/O. So no one here can actually advise you on wether to wait or not.
I'm in the same boat. Personally I will wait till the next Nexus phone. It's just not worthy it to buy an soon to be outdated phone right now.
