Bang bang racing looks visually impressive maybe too much for the xperia play to run?
From what ive read if youve rooted your phone installed chainfire 3d and then installed the nvidia tegra2 drivers the play can run SOME tegra 2 games?
I was just wondering if anyone who knows what there doing has got bang bang racing running on there xperia play before i spend the next few hours messing up my phone trying

I can't attest to how well the XPlay will run Bang Bang Racing, but Chainfire3D will definitely run Tegra games. Follow these instructions:
http://www.jayceooi.com/2011/08/25/how-to-install-and-use-chainfire3d-on-samsung-galaxy-s2/
They're for the Galaxy S2, but it's the same process. It works.
Nice one for that i will try and get chainfire up and running on my play. I thought the galaxy s2 had a tegra 2 chipset anyway what do u need chainfire for?
Bang bang racing anyone... Any luck?

Galaxy S2 does not have at tegra 2 chipset. It has a better gpu than the current tegra 2 chips.

The Mali-400 GPU in the GS2 is only better, as it's a newer generation of chip. Once Nvida release the Tega III in a couple of months, it will be pretty outdated

That's why I specifically said Tegra 2, not just Tegra
Tegra 3 looks quite promising
have anyone tested it able to play on Xplay ?

it sort of works on the xperia Arc S, then fc just as track loads up grrr. need to root it so I can try chainfire 3d on it. Had no joy with it on my archos 70 (yes that crappy thing) LOL
No luck
Even with chainfire 3d pro and nvedia plugins doesn't seem to run...hmmm...installed the game and still says minimum hardware requirement not met...??? though my phone is galaxy note...
Hello!
I was wondering if anyone knows how well the adreno handles the Tegra 3 features when compared to the Tegra 3? I was debating whether I should get the Nexus 7 just to play games on it or just use my Samsung S3 Rogers with Chainfire?
I mean is there a big frame rate difference?
Any advice or conclusions will go a long way!

Not sure about the Snapdragon-to-Tegra capabilities, but from my ATRIX 2 the TI OMAP-to-Tegra worked just fine. I was wondering about this also, just haven't gotten around to experimenting with it yet, since I just got my SG3 on Sunday...

I'm glad I'm not the only one looking for the Best solution. Don't get me wrong I love this phone but if I can play the game better (Dead Trigger example)
I'm actually hoping the answer is no difference so I can save 259.99$ + tax LOL!
Just switching to the Tegra plugin won't enable Tegra 3 effects. It requires editing some files and most T3 games won't run regardless.
With that said, people seem to have a little bit of lag with Dead Trigger and Nova 3 using Tegra effects IIRC.

Yeah thats why I said 259.99$ + tax thats how much a 16 GB nexus 7 costs here in canada
Well I think a Galaxy S3 and a Nexus 7 would be a better combo than just a One X.

Cool Thanks for the reply!
It's either that, or switch to international version! I did test Dead TRigger fully now with the Tegra 3 plugin and Very high Settings Edit and it seems to run fine, but it does lag sometimes, does any1 know if this happens to Mali users or Tegra 3 users?
I had I international one x and I sold it for galaxy s3. I got a Nexus 7 also for the tegra games. One x was nice but had crappy battery life and horrendous wifi signal it was horrible plus no lte which is killer.

Or just get a Nexus 7....

Thanks for the info.
Thinking about buying Nova 3, but not sure because I haven't really liked any of the gameloft games I've tried so far.
Dang! I just paid full price for Modern combat 3 this morning...

Useless and very laggy on Nexus 7 (and other tegra 3 devices) because nvidia's GPU sucks. I don't understand why nvidia has not switched to tile based rendering.
These games perform much MUCH better on my old Galaxy S2 with the Mali400 gpu.
Sorry for the rant post, it's just that the nexus 7 is my first device with tegra SoC, and I'm very disappointed in its graphics performance.

Foe the millionth time the GPU in the T3 is awesome. Gameloft is the one that sucks. Exhibit A - Dark Meadow, horn, heroes call, etc

Totally agree. It's a shame, they look like great games, but just way too laggy to play.

Does nova3 really play as horrible as people say? They make it seem unplayable. I know it's only a $1 but I don't want to buy it even if they're working on a tegra 3 optimization. That will probably be a separate purchase.

It looks great but runs leggy.
I have a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone and Order and Chaos Online plays very well, but when I play it on my Nexus 7 Tablet it lags and the draw distance is horrible. Does anyone know why this is and is there a fix for the lag? Is there a rom and kernel combo that runs games better than rooted stock?

AW: Why does Order and Chaos Online play smoother on my phone than on my Nexus 7?
I bet it has something to do with tegra (;
I was warned before my purchase that Gameloft games MAY not work good with this device.. Never touched a GL game though..

Its Gameloft.
Order and Chaos worked brilliantly on my Tegra 2 Transformer with a hacked apk from a Motorola Xoom. After every update they killed the patch work. Once it got official support, it sucks.
Same on N7. Pretty sad.
I know it can play much better and if you warez it, it plays great. I've purchased the game 3 times. At this point I think I'm entitled to make it play any way I can.
At the end of the day it is just a train wreck company that doesn't code well for Tegras. Whatever they do to Tegra games is bad.
The game is playable though so just enjoy it.

Maybe 4.2.2 will increase the performance, people claim that gaming is better in the new version

It sucks on N7. Choppy gameplay, unregistered touches... horrible.
tegra 3 is a weak SoC. something we nexus 7 owners must learn to accept
The weak spot of the Tegra 3 is the fill rate due to slow RAM. This is also why GPU over clocking barely increases FPS.
The powervrs in iOS devices on the other hand excel here.
Gameloft designs games for iOS and the GS3 only.
Therefore, the powervr in your GNex runs Gameloft games better that the Tegra 3.
The T3 is a great GPU for being over a year old. The problem is you have to work around this slow RAM, something Gameloft isn't willing to do... Unlike mad finger for example.
In the T4 Nvidia has realized its mistake and added dual channel faster RAM which is partly why the GPU performance is much better.

I face similar problems, its smooth on my iphone 5 and lags like hell on my nexus 10. Is the android version bad?? =\
I think it's a tegra thing. It's much better on my note 10.1 with android 4.1 then nexus. On nexus I get ghosting terrible worse then on note.
It's Kewl game would be in it more if not for lag. And it's a shame it's great game play. And I paid the yearly subscription.

I am not sure the name of them but I know there were a few tablet only games floating around before I had a tablet to play them on, I was hoping maybe someone here knew what those were? Maybe we can build a list of Tablet Only games, not just games that work on the tablet but ones that ONLY will install and play on tablets.
I don't think tablet only games exist...

I know there are at least a few, remember reading about some back when I didn't care...and trying to install them on my phone only to get unsupported device.
Unsupported device doesn't mean it's a tablet app.
Optimized tablets games exist ( I guess) but not specific to tablets, meaning only available on tablets.
GTA 3 was tegra 3 optimized. But it was also available on other devices.

No, but generally when you get unsupported on multiple phones and it says in the description **Tablet Only** It is, I remember at least a couple that had this, this "discussion" is pointless at this time, if you don't have a game to add then just let the thread fall until someone does.
