Hi all
I'm sorry but the method I posted about stopping the wakelocks on my phone seems to be not working...now I switched back to stock and my phone never sleeps again...
http://db.tt/mNRocVhj
This is the link to the log, can someone explain me why a wakelock of 2.6% is making my phone to not sleep? How do I have to read the alarms values? Thanks to all

Can you try with Wakelock Detector? Much easier to see what is keeping your phone awake with that.
I'll post a screen tomorrow of that app

Wakelock/cpu battery consumption not even close to screen or modem
Never!

What I can think of is Gtalk or whatsapp making it stay awake a bit. But the Telephone x510 looks pretty worrysome also, is the NSA spying on you or have you installed some weird app from the net?
Also do you have any weather widgets or such that update/reloads in the background?
These are all my apps..every automatic update is disabled and hangout is froze...whatsapp is always running and every app is hibernized from greenify...every app but nova launcher whatsapp and Swype keyboard..
PS: opened a thread here

I think that you have a bit too much to pinpoint the problem without some sheer luck. I would suggest a factory reset and then slowly try install apps. Don't use greenify and start freezing stuff right away, I read freezing wrong stuff can cause some other things to wakelock like mad.
It's a really long operation...I will do it when I have some time, now I can't...but in this case shouldn't bbs tell me what's wrong?

As wakelock detector noticed, you had 510 wakelocks on telephone in 1.5h, even if it doesn't drain anything it's probably what keeps your phone from sleeping. You could try uninstall apps that uses phone and see if anything gets better.

Tonight I disabled WiFi data and sync and hybernated every app including launcher whatsapp etc.
Telephone wl is disappeared but alarm manager still pops up...

Could you try running:
adb shell dumpsys alarm > AlarmManager.txt
The text file will be put in your sdcard root folder.
Just did a 1 hour period of standby, leaving everything untouched from boot...here it is the alarm log you asked...how should I read the values? There are some times reported that are days on days and phone has been just restarted...
I tried disabling fast dormancy too and tomorrow I will see the effects...

Think it's the lower part that is interesting, and what stands out there is Babel, seems to be some chat/dating app? I would suggest try freezer/remove that one and see.
I don't have any app like that!
Only apps that uses chat are draw some 2, whatsapp, hangout and forecaster, I will look with xplore if I can find any file with Babel in the name...
I'm completely sure Babel is gtalk.. I looked in the db that I found in com.android.Google.talk in /data/data
What about this time tick alarm in almost 8 hours of screen off?

Problem solved..greenify was hiding the wakelock I think, because when I uninstalled greenify a whatsapp 99.8% wakelock appeared...now I have uninstalled whatsapp and I'll try to reinstall soon...

I have an AT&T Galaxy S3, the I747, which is currently running the 5/10 build of PAC-Man, the 5/9 build of the KT747 kernel, and task650's 5/8 gapps. I dropped it about a month and a half ago, shattered the screen, and had to replace it. A quirk to this is that I had to replace it with a screen from a Sprint Galaxy S3, the L710. After I replaced the screen, on Friday, I flashed to the stuff I'm running right now. Yesterday (Sunday), I noticed that the sensor directly to the right of the front-facing speaker is lit up with a very faint red color at all times while my phone is on. I have done a little searching, and from what I can find, everyone is attributing this to Viber, which I don't use.
It's this one:

My proximity sensor and light sensor are working fine still, but my main concerns are battery life and longevity. Is this light being on going to either hurt my sensor in the long run or create unnecessary drain on my battery, and if either is the case, what do I do about it?
I noticed mine was on one day while i was in bed, just rebooted and haven't had it since. I don't see why it would need to read data from the proximity sensor unless your on a call or so it shouldn't drain battery . if your in the SMS app then it might be using it for direct dial but I'm not sure if you have that feature in pacman

Try a program called greenify. It will tell you which programs are causing wake locks and what is using the most battery.
Hi, I used to have Viber installed, until I noticed that dot I didn't relate it. It made me panic so I went through my apps 1 by 1 and found viber to be the one keeping it always on even when its not running. If you don't have Viber, go to your installed apps page, go to downloaded tab and force close each one. If the red dot is persistent then its another app. Keep going until its gone and you'll find the culprit.
Have a good day.

Dude read posts.
Turn off any notifications like Tapatalk, Facebook, etc...
Google settings like location services.
Learn hpw to manage apps and close them out properly. Every once in a while I'll go through TouchWiz Manager and end all apps even though I know some of the apps I haven't even opened or they might just still been opened up.
Like I said your maps app is taking location which kills your battery faster.
Your email app is probably on auto sync which means it's constantly syncing itself constantly on a connection that is constantly getting information back and forth hence killing your battery.
Beautiful widgets if that is also on auto sync which means it's taking your connection again and constantly syncing for info and data.

Not at all. Its not too much of a big deal I mean I just still go into my email app and just hit refresh just to see if there's anything new and is much better for battery life than having to be on auto sync because Its not constantly having to sync every second.

So I've been using Juice Defender for the past year or two now, and though there have been reviews somewhat negative or that it's only a placebo effect or something, it has helped my battery life extensively. There are times where I might accidentally disable it and forget to enable it, and my battery life gets worse enough that I notice almost right way and Juice Defender usually helps with that.
The feature I use the most is making sure that Data and Wifi and stuff are turned off when my phone is locked, but with a few exceptions for some applications like Pandora. Just looking for another application that can do something similar, and yeah, there's other things too, such as turning off the WiFi when there it can't connect after a certain interval, and not turning on both Data and Wifi when there's WiFi, for example.
Just looking for another battery application that does the same. Juice Defender has some small bugs on my phone such as messing with the bluetooth and they haven't upgraded their application in like two years now, so yeah, I'm just looking for a more updated application.

I've been using Deep Sleep Battery Saver Pro and GreenPower Premium. I have to say the first app is not as customisable as the second, but it's pretty smooth, effective, has a more logical interface and I've never experienced an issue with it. There's also a free version that also does the job. And to all of you sceptics, YES, IT HELPS.

Only problem here is the 2 day waiting period lol. I'm a flashaholic and its driving me mad lol.......5 hours remaining until learning mode completes. Really hope its worth it ?
I'm a firm believer in giving a ROM/kernel sufficient time before complaining about battery life ( thats why i never complain about battery) so I guess this is giving me that sufficient time to let my phone settle at least.

Using a combination of 2X Battery Saver, and Snapdragon Battery Guru. Works wonders.

I am currently using Battery Guru as well by Qualcomm, but I had a quick question. Like slymobi, I like to flash the latest update for whichever ROM I am using at the time. I have about 13 hours left until baterry guru is done learning. My question is, if I do a titanium backup of everything including battery guru and then after installing new rom restore the app with data would I need to redo the learning process or can I just let it run based on the original learning process? Hope this question makes sense.
Thanks!

I tried re-flashing that kernel, as well as tried the one for the E988- no luck. I even uninstalled all my apps and did a factory reset. Still my phone would not really enter a deep sleep.. (stats showed it would hit deep sleep for about 4 or 5 seconds every once and a while.)
Broke down and flashed the stock image that includes the recent value pack update from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2361928 and NOW it will deep sleep.
Re-rooted and ran freegee to get a recovery...
Not sure what it was that was killing it so I will re-install my apps 1 at a time and check...

Root and "Titanium Backup" are needed to disable most of those.
This is how i run my Note on Stock ROM, those are the things i do not use, frees me like half a GB a RAM, saves battery and makes my phone snappier.
Please dont be dumb, if you use Calculator, dont freeze it... and more important, if you dont have another keyboard app installed, please do not freeze "Samsung Keyboard" lol use common sence please.
Those elements are safe to freeze, do not delete em, is diferend, some things are needed present when phone boots or it might get stuck in bootloop, but you can freeze all that, just leave whatever you use.
If you are just freezing, there is nothing that can be messed up, if you see something isnt working right of the apps you are using, just go and enable it back in TB.
Here is the list, 20 screenshots of the "FROZEN" list in Titanium Backup, "YouTube" is the 220th i didnt want to crop/upload a whole screenshot for just 1 element, i watch youtube on the browser.. dont see any use of the app:

Only if you have nothing to use it for, like you
im showing theres a lot of RAM to be filled with usefull programs you use instead bloatware, as then everything would open much snappier and save battery, or if its filled half way with bloatware already Android will start closing your oldest open apps automaticly when there isnt enough RAM for all apps that are running...
and bloatware aways runs, so itll be the apps you installed to be closed..
Hope you get it
that is extreme Freeze tho, im just showing what CAN be frozen, so people arent afraid to do so when they wan to stop an element..

It should not be, ive done this with many phones few years back, this is mainly samsung bloatware, google services that i dont need i know they run whenever they want in the background, all the widgets, fonts, wallpapers you wont use so no need them been loaded in RAM, and some apps that arent OS effective..
still, unfreeze everything, and see if something that was frozen was your problem...
