I've noticed the phone has no Deep Sleep state, it will always stay at the lowest CPU speed of 384Mhz, have you noticed the same?, thanks
I am hoping that some modified kernels come soon that will allow this, but YES. I have noticed it as well.

thats weird.....CPU Spy clearly shows that my Gpro's CPU has entered Deep Sleep for some time.
try enabling Quad Core Control option, maybe it helps.

Which flavor of @hkfriends kernel are you using? I pulled down the one for the E980 today and the date is Jul 14 but yours is Jul 16. Maybe that is the difference.

I tried re-flashing that kernel, as well as tried the one for the E988- no luck. I even uninstalled all my apps and did a factory reset. Still my phone would not really enter a deep sleep.. (stats showed it would hit deep sleep for about 4 or 5 seconds every once and a while.)
Broke down and flashed the stock image that includes the recent value pack update from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2361928 and NOW it will deep sleep.
Re-rooted and ran freegee to get a recovery...
Not sure what it was that was killing it so I will re-install my apps 1 at a time and check...
I have e extremely horrible battery life ever since I upgraded to the value pack.

Update: so there is definitely something about the Value Pack that is causing me some serious battery drainage. I just went back to stock and said screw it. Like it better anyway. Been sitting at 100% for the past 30 minutes while browsing Facebook. Did the same test before on the Value Pack update and I would drop to 97% within 15 minutes of taking it off the charger, and that's not even using it.

Use the Tiamat kernel. I'm able to get 19hrs at 55% left, without the sbc kernel. Also there are additional undervolting scripts for it.
1. You've told this before. I just switched to it so that should help. I'm a bit uneducated at UV though.

Nice.
Under volting allows the cpu to draw less power, and still operate. The Tiamat kernel is intially undervolted to I believe 950mv. With the additional scripts, you can drop it further. All devices should be able to get away with 25 or 50mv. The 75 and 100 are more aggressive and may not work for you. Best is to backup your rom, flash the 100 and work your way down. If you get bootloops, or you phone shortly freezes after booting, go 1 step down; you're phone can't handle it then. Here's a link to the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1028322

You should give undervolting a shot if your kernel supports it. That helps with reducing power consumption while in use, while juice defender helps with reducing power consumption while not in use.

yeah that's rather bad. i would put on average that our phone would last 4+ hours display on screen without the use of JD and other stuff.
I would say voice uses more battery than display on.. but barely... like 1.3 : 1 ratio in use voice : display.
Your android system looks a bit high too. Maybe a fresh wipe and install would help things.

Yeah like I said don't depend on what your seeing there. The lowest is 200 ie when your phone is idle its really at 200..click on an app it will jump to 800. The number you see in the settings is broken and not accurate. If you get a CPU monitor from play store you will see that its really "live" its like a broken clock in the settings. Your phone is not always running 1500. Its running lowest 200 up to 1500 depending on what your doing like normal. Does that make sense??

excited to see this in progress. The fact that it boots and runs makes me very happy indeed. Once the call audio issue is sorted (can't have the boss calling and not be able to talk to him) i'll be all over this. I have an AT&T Galaxy S3, the I747, which is currently running the 5/10 build of PAC-Man, the 5/9 build of the KT747 kernel, and task650's 5/8 gapps. I dropped it about a month and a half ago, shattered the screen, and had to replace it. A quirk to this is that I had to replace it with a screen from a Sprint Galaxy S3, the L710. After I replaced the screen, on Friday, I flashed to the stuff I'm running right now. Yesterday (Sunday), I noticed that the sensor directly to the right of the front-facing speaker is lit up with a very faint red color at all times while my phone is on. I have done a little searching, and from what I can find, everyone is attributing this to Viber, which I don't use.
It's this one:

My proximity sensor and light sensor are working fine still, but my main concerns are battery life and longevity. Is this light being on going to either hurt my sensor in the long run or create unnecessary drain on my battery, and if either is the case, what do I do about it?
I noticed mine was on one day while i was in bed, just rebooted and haven't had it since. I don't see why it would need to read data from the proximity sensor unless your on a call or so it shouldn't drain battery . if your in the SMS app then it might be using it for direct dial but I'm not sure if you have that feature in pacman

Hi, I used to have Viber installed, until I noticed that dot I didn't relate it. It made me panic so I went through my apps 1 by 1 and found viber to be the one keeping it always on even when its not running. If you don't have Viber, go to your installed apps page, go to downloaded tab and force close each one. If the red dot is persistent then its another app. Keep going until its gone and you'll find the culprit.
Have a good day.
