Hi guys.. I have a 2GB sd.. soon, i will buy 8gb sd, then gonna format it to fat. if i transfer all my files from 2gb sd to 8gb sd, does it will become okay? and does my installed applications will work properly? or im gonna factory reset it?
Note: You have only 1 day to answer my question.. hope you will
It should. Just copy paste everything (all app files must be there) to your new SD and it should be the same as before.

just open your comp.
1. copy everything on the sd.
2. then inssert the new sd on your device and format it
3. **formaatting on comps will not guarantee the stability so do it on your phone
4. then just copy everything from the old to the new one.
**EVEN if you had apps on the SD card, it will still be transferred.
most apps installed on the sd are located @ mount/sdcard/data/<here> or mount/sdcard/Android/data/<here>
Tnx to all of you.

How to create nandroid back up?
Sent from my GT-S5360
download the link which i hav posted earlier then it to copy to sd not in any folder
power off your phone
1. reboot in recovery by powering down, then
power back on holding vol up, vol down, and
power at the same time. This will boot you into
stock recovery.
2. using volume down, highlight 'apply
sdcard:update.zip' and select by using the menu
button (or where it would be).
3. you should now be in cwm recovery. Depending
on which one you are using, the text will either be
red or cyan in color. highlight 'backup/restore'
using volume keys and select with POWER button.
4. select backup
The back up will start, and will take around 5-10
minutes to complete (depending on how much
stuff you have in /data)
5. Once it is done, it will go back to the main cwm
menu. Select 'reboot phone now' with power
button.
now your backup is copied to clockworkmod folder in sd
take care about minimum space free is 500mb either it shouldnt complete
do same in restore at last highlight restore then it should take time
hey press thanks

nice. last question.. do the data of apps installed in sd card must be on sd card or it is included in recovery?, and any1 found any bug of doin' this?
please answer. then this will be closed
Ok. Here's my question.
I've already created back up on skin 1980. Soon. I will change my rom. If i don't like the rom, i will restore the nandroid backup. Should the data of the apps installed in my sd card and backed up on my nandroid backup must be on sd card?

Pls take rest of the questions to the FAQ thread... I have already allowed this thread for sometime now.
Hello,
2 days ago my HTC desire Z stopped working, so I removed the battery and restarted it. From that moment the phone try to restart but in the middle of the procedure it reboots again and again. I tried the recovery from the initial setup: nothing happened!
I removed the sd and save all data, but sms and contacts were not on it. Not all contacts are sync with my google account. I have the whatsapp database on the sdcard but I don't know if it allows a restore in the future or are unuseful (anyone knows?). All my photo are safe!
I never did a backup!
I searched solutions for 2 days and the results are:
- I should install CWM and backup using that ...but I have not permission to do that
- Starting the remote recovery or uploading the .img on the sdcard is not possible because I am not root
- To obtain the root permission I have to follow a procedure that delete my data...so I don't achieve my goal
- An optional solution is use factory reset...but still I lose my data
- There is a procedure on xda to do an Internal Memory Data Recovery but what can I do with the file that I COULD recover? And in any case I should do the reset, installCWM, unlock boot and after I could try to recover my file, right?
Has anyone ideas how to solve my problem?
Thank you a lot in any case and good work with the forum!!
Kia
Not being rooted your options are very limited, you can try booting in safe mode but that's about it other then wipeing and rooting (hold s key while powering on)

I hope, i'm in the right section here...
I wanted to Change from AOKP 4.2.2 to AOKP 4.3 nightly, did a backup with Titanium, flashed the new rom and restored contacts, sms and user-apps. After reboot the screen got spammed with 2 error messages:
android.process.acore must be closed
android.process.phone must be closed
With this, it's not usable an i had to restore a nandroid backup.
Any help there?

Did you flash the 4.3 bootloader and change the backup directory for tbckup ?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 4
Hi. Thx for answering.
Flashing a new bootloader? I never had to do this for the last releases since i bought the phone with 4.0.1 stock.
Please tell me what do you mean. I don't find some hints about this in the release notes.
Yes, i changed the backup directory to "legacy", because restore would not start without that.
After that Titanium asked me to copy the backup files to the new directory, but it doesn't anything if i answer with "yes". And it does the restore, so i didn't care about that.
Edit:
Here are some additional information:
Baseband: XXLA2
Bootloader: PRIMELA03
Should these be updated?
After a couple of tests and searching forums of the world for hours, i have found a solution
solution for having fc with android.process.acore:
- restore a backup (nandroid) of your rom
- go into the settings of the contacts
- chose: export to sd
- flash new rom
- import contacts from vcf file on sdcard
- restore apps and settings with Titanium WITHOUT(!) contacts (contact memory, contacts/calls)
solution for having fc with com.android.phone:
(don't know if this is the best order, but it was the order i did when testing and helped for me. it could be that only copying the dialer app to /system/apps was the final solution. before, it connected to gsm and i could do calls and sending sms, but nothing else.)
- open settings/apps/all
- erase cache/data of Dialer, Telephone and Tel/SMS-Memory (don't know how its exaktly named when set to english)
- deinstall dialer app with Tiitanium
- erase dalvik and cache partition in cwm recovery
- reboot
- search and copy the dialer.apk from the extracted rom file to sd and install it
- copy dialer.apk to /system/apps
- search, download and copy "fix_permissions:emulator" to sd (i'm not allowed to post links at this time)
- restore Tel/SMS-memory (sms/mms/apn) from Titanium
- reboot to cwm recovery
- flash fix_permissions_emulator.zip to do a fix permissions action (cwm has it anymore and fix permissions in rom manager didn't help)
- reboot
- now, dialer app should open without fc and connect to 3G
Hello,
I have a P6-T00 which was running firmware B508SP02 in English (EMUI 2). I updated the firmware to B708 (EMUI 3.0) using automatic upgrade mode by holding Volume Up + Volume Down + Power simultaneously when the phone was starting up, and now all my apps and data are gone.
Will restoring my backup bring back my contacts, and other data? or should I go back to B508SP02 ?
thanks for any help! i'm desperate!

Restoring app data
To clarify further,
through restore I was able to get back my contact list, WLANs and passwords that were stored, etc.
But after I reinstalled my apps, these do not access to their old data, even though the data is still on the external micro SD card. For example, all of Wechat's data is on the external card, but after I re-installed Wechat, I cannot see my old chat messages, etc. It was totally empty.
Does anyone know how to get apps to 'see' their old data?
thanks,
'Alim

First explain the way you made the backup ( official huawei backup app or custom recovery or just copy/paste to another location).
Sent from my SM-G850F
I used the huawei backup app but did not backup app data because it would have taken up too much space. I backed up everything else -contacts, configurations, etc.- but not app data. However, I can see that the file system on my SD card still contains data from many of the apps that were installed. Eg: wechat data is there, but wechat does not show my chats and history from before the reinstall.
thanks!

Theres the mistake you made. I belive that the data you are searching is erased and you are stuck with a fresh installations of the apps.
Sent from my SM-G850F
I'm wondering why I lost my apps and all app data this time... it didn't happen the last 2 times I updated the phone's firmware (which is why I didn't back up the apps and their data). Is it because i used 'automatic upgrade mode' by holding Volume Up + Volume Down + Power simultaneously when the phone was starting up?
That could be the reason only if you updated from sd cards. It can happen if update it that way because the phone then rsets everything and makes a fresh/clean install. If you made it from internal storage it wouldnt have happened i belive.

Do this:
With your rom, even if it is stock, install the TWRP, make a backup even of the cache.
Then take the file linked by me, and replace it in your backup.
should recognize it.
Data and sim work.

I don't know what version it is.
For the 4G version, it didn't make multiple versions.
If you go to the second post of the developer who created it, there is a version, while for the 3g model the V4 is mentioned
