Does camera take photos/video as good as in stock rom? IS CM9 camera better than CM10? Is CM9 faster than the stock ROM? (I think it's inappropriate question)

1 no, stock is better.
2 don't know, never tried cm10
3 usually, yes, better than stock ics. But depends on use and rom.

Stock camera already beat CM camera hands down, doesn't matter which version of CM you're talking about.

I'm using cm9 with lupus kernel
Performance is good. better than stock.. But not as butter smooth as cm10.. Camera is good compared to cm10... No occasional force closes of apps like in cm10...

Has anyone used both cm9 and aokp ics? I'm running aokp ics and it seems pretty stable (haven't tested the camera app yet), I am seeing a problem with Led flashing (erratic flashing), but thats about it so far. I'm thinking about flashing cm9.
How does it compare to aokp ics in terms of overall stability?

Aokp is not ICS...it was ...but it upgraded to jellybean.
Best ICS stock experience hands down...

I'm going nuts trying to find the best ROM for Gio. Most of the people say that JB and ICS ROMs drain battery. And it makes no sense at all to have a phone that you can't use. Please help me to find best ROM for Gio. Or should I try 2.3.x ROMs like Adrenaline or sth?
try maclaw's ICS or MMB AOSP ics rom.they are fast and have better battery life and a smoother performance.
about JB,try CM10.1 by oldroid its fast but has some kinda lags in the rom
for gingerbread try Enhanced 236,adrenaline rom or S'perience final rom they are fast and have battery life good :good:
So what about maclaw's ICS or MMB AOSP ics's battery lives? Which one do you recommend?
I didn't experienced MMB ICS but I can tell you that Maclaw's ICS has better battery life then old droid JB
I think that MMB ICS is faster than maclaws, but you should try them by yourself.
I'am using olddroid's CM10.1 i can use it much longer than maclaws ics (except wifi is on)..

for me slim ics... i've flashed this rom to my firends phone he is very satisfied with the performance and battery life...

I checked slim ics and I think of using it. But some people report that radio and camera don't work for them. Do you know anything about it?
For me Maclaw CM9 was good, now I use 10.1 by OldDroid and its also good - hope next realase will fix some lags and we see the greatest ROM for our GiO

for camera i'm not sure -my friend is not here now- but for fm you can use spirit fm from the playstore... it works very well...

battery is good. one thing i don't like about that ROM is the RAM usage. it eats large amount of RAM so it is not recommended for gaming.
I used stock XXLMI. i want update my phone newest versions but i dont do it cuz this versions isnt stable. one weeks ago i installed a jb rom and in this rom it isnt any music player, i installed a music player but i didnt use it cuz this force closes. What's your suggestion for me ??
Just stick to CM9 till a more stable release for CM10 is out. If you have trouble with permissions, go to recovery and use fix permissions.
Don't get me wrong. That's just my opinion... You can use CM10 if you like. For music player, use Google Play Music.

All the ROM for this device are almost the same, all ics/jb roms are basead on arco's source,which means that there are no significant difference in battery/performance/bugs between them, the only difference is the mods, apps (removed or moded), and a few tweaks.
Pick the rom you like the most, if you want a clean rom and you don't care about those mods just pick CM9 or CM10, I would go for cm10, it's stable enough for daily use.
Edit: If you're a gamer go for cm9, or cm9 basead roms.

Yes, normal stock JB is better than stock ICS but we are talking about an ICS ROM that has RC stage while the JB is only at its alpha stage. The tweaks and 'project butter' smoothness will not be at its... Full power? Just saying. Not bias to any ROM at all. Different people have different opinions.

I used CM10 by Arco with 4.1 to 4.2 JB App Mods...
But its me... And in the end all the options back to you...

If you ask me what is the best ROM in W. Then I would say: Nothing.
What's the best for me maybe its not the same for someone else. Maybe someone said: 'Ah CM10 FTW!!!' but then someone else argued: 'No!! CM9 is better blah blah blah'. And someone else said SlimBean 4.2 is da best.. e.t.c. And you know what will happen next.
If you want to ask what is the best ROM, ask it yourself. Try any ROM and Mods that might fit your requirements. (And expectation, of course)

Finally I decided to upgrade from gingerbread to CM10, skipping CM9. And I am happy that I did it. There is a huge difference, my phone is much smoother now.. games are also fine, no lag at all

hey guys
i just wanna discuss i fell camera when compared from cm or unofficial packages (non stock firmware based)
is bad when compared to stock based roms
i ran camps rom around for 4 months and switched to zelly cream i felt zelly cream rom had boosted camera :silly:
i again went to stock rom
and saw it was clear as zelly cream :laugh:
so any advice to improve quality ? :fingers-crossed:

I think you mean CM camera is not good compare to other roms.
I agree with you that CM10 (Jelly Bean) camera is not that good compare to stock or ICS roms.
This is because the CM10 (Jelly Bean) camera drivers and libs are not released by sony for 2011 devices.
So, the camera clarity is not that good.
If you want good camera features, I suggest you to flash ICS custom/stock roms.

Hi. First thanks to all developers and for they hard work. I have just one question couse im curious, why no one make anymore stock based rom's? They are bugfree i think.

First of all, you should ask questions in the q&a section.
And I think they don't make any rom based on stock because it is laggy. yes youtube videos are better on stock and yes gps is working better(at least for me) but cm based roms way beyond stock.
these are my ideas of course ,only developers can say the real reasons.

you mean gaming performance on modified stock is better then cm based? I don't know because I don't play games :S
I did not try CM never, but gaming is best i think on GB, at least better than on stock JB ore stock based JB. I never felt lag on GB, in gaming ore UI
