I'm currently using AOKP as my daily driver, but I'm curious to try CM9a3 or CNA. Thoughts?
CNA development has slowed down A LOT. I would say right now AOKP is the best. Once they are out of alpha/beta and are fully stable I think CM9 might have a slight edge.
For now I suggest you stick with AOKP and keep and eye on CM9.

So far aokp has been the most stable of the aosp type roms.

Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone has thoroughly tested both Cyanogenmod 10 and AOKP with Jelly Bean. If you have, what are the performance differences, as well as the default theming, and most importantly, battery life. I'm currently on Bugless Beast which has no modifications, so I'm not really interested in which has more features, because I'm sure they're both full of them. Currently I get around 2 hours of screen on time (CDMA Nexus), which I consider good, so If you've experienced more than that on either of these roms, please let me know. I plan on switching to one of them when I receive some good reviews. Thanks

1) Make a backup of your current ROM
2) Flash either AOKP or CM10
3) Try said ROM out for ~1 week
4) Make backup of that ROM
5) Flash next ROM and try it out
*** NO ONE can tell YOU what ROM is going to run best on YOUR phone. You use your phone different then other people and their experience may not be the same as yours***
This is not meant to be rude, but just the dead honest truth.
Seriously, if you're not into customizing, stock. Stock ROM, stock kernel, just stock. Unless you have Verizon since there's no JB update I don't think
If you really want either of them, here's my "short comparison"
AOKP: AOKP is probably one of the most customizable ROM out there. It has all the settings that I personally care for and use a lot. On top of that, faux kernel helps this ROM run like a boss! Not a smoothest ROM though to be honest. Also not all the features from ICS is in JB yet, so keep that in mind.
CM10: This also has a lot of customization, but not as customizable as AOKP. (That's only by few features though). CM is known for how stable it is. I personally had no issue with CM when running it on my GSM phone. However, there isn't stable version yet.

What gives better battery life and a faster phone overall. Faux or Franco?

That again you need to decide. Every device is different. I personally had better experience with Faux (Maybe because it is stock for AOKP? I dunno)

Faux, franco kernel makes my phone act up every now and then.

CM10 for a stable, less buggy ROM. AOKP for customization. End of story.
Also, Faux kernel is my preferred kernel.

I never tried CM9, but if it's anything like CM10 M1, AOKP Jelly Bean latest build has a bit more features. But I could personally care less for. You should just backup your ROM and try AOKP if you ask me. If you don't like it, you can simply restore.
Cm10 to stable ROM and cleaner ROM aokp is a hacked rom

Its just not as clean as cm10 I don't mean it sucks. Its just the way they get all those custom settings are a little more dirty coding that's all I'm saying relax, people are too sensitive on this forum.

I really like AOKP ICS. But I'm on CM10 and CNA now, the current builds from AOKP are too buggy and unstable for me.

At least explain your "findings".
Saying it's just hacked up and dirty coding is a little naive.

You don't know what you're talking about. AOKP is very stable.

JBSourcery - download it, flash it, mod it, like it, love it...
Both are great, although I'd recommend CNA. Now where's the lock?

OK, that's all I'm asking for. You shouldn't just put negative comment like this without any good reason. I really don't think it's necessarily to say AOKP is "hacked" you know?

Yeah, but CM is a bit more stable in my taste. But nothing to write a book about AOKP is very stable, like you said.
You can't judge a rom if it isn't labeled as "stable" by the dev.
I am using AOKP since the
early ICS builds and i am using their JB versions now. They have tons of customization (and much more to come) and although they are considered nightlies (actually they are weeklies or so ) they are pretty stable and fast.
I have always used franco kernel with it and it is just great.
I currently use AOKP build 4 with franco r281, a black wallpaper, black theme and auto brightness. I get 4 hours of on screen time using the extended 2000mah battery. Besides the on screen time the rom is very battery friendly, with no random wakelocks.

Just received my GS3 and there are so many Roms I can't pick one!!! I surprisingly like TW, but I also like AOSP Roms. For AOSP I'm thinking CM10 or CNA, and for TW FreeGS3 R6 or stock T999UVALH2. What do you guys think??
If you're into AOSP ROMs, you can't go wrong with CM10 or AOKP, both of which are stable enough to be daily drivers. I also recommend Lean Kernel which is awesome.

Been using Marange Miui ICS for over a year and have found it to be extremely stable but feel like its become slow in the latest releases so looking in to anything Stock Android Based Roms, something light like CM10 etc
which Rom would you guy's recommend with the least issues when it comes to either ICS or Jellybean?
I don't use camera so Don't care about that

^^^^ this.
And besides, most of the available Roms are equally stable / very soon to be stable.
Do a good flash, making sure to wait a while right after flashing, and all will be good.

I've really been enjoying the AOKP Jellybean. There are some minor issues with bugs being worked out with the nightlies, but overall it's dope!
I've been on CM 10.1 nightly 03/23 since that day and it's really nice. Everything works smoothly and CM is a pleasure.

I second this one. Jedi Jelly 6 is very smooth. My only issue with it is that it's based off of a leaked AT&T ROM.
I believe ptmr3 (the dev) is working on a new version that is based on the recent 4.1.2 release specifically for the SGH-T989.
I switched to an AOSP based ROM and I'm never looking back despite wifi calling being a cool feature, but I never used it. Anyway, I've been using 2.2 Slimstars which was pretty great. The updates seemed to be a little unstable like the camera not working. Is the new one, 4.12 pretty much fixed? And are there many changes with 4.2.2? I may try PACman. How's that stability wise? Stability and speed (I just want it to work without waiting you know?) are priorities.
ptmr3's Jedi Mind Trick JB 2.1 is by the the fastest and smoothest and glitch free rom out there
I have tried almost all roms of the ICS and JB flavour
personally I do not like non touchwiz roms
and all CM and AOKP 4.2 roms do not support MHL output or Bluetooth mouse properly
everything seems to work on JMT except for OP known issues
