JB or ICS ROM with best battery life and speed? - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

I'm going nuts trying to find the best ROM for Gio. Most of the people say that JB and ICS ROMs drain battery. And it makes no sense at all to have a phone that you can't use. Please help me to find best ROM for Gio. Or should I try 2.3.x ROMs like Adrenaline or sth?

try maclaw's ICS or MMB AOSP ics rom.they are fast and have better battery life and a smoother performance.
about JB,try CM10.1 by oldroid its fast but has some kinda lags in the rom
for gingerbread try Enhanced 236,adrenaline rom or S'perience final rom they are fast and have battery life good :good:

So what about maclaw's ICS or MMB AOSP ics's battery lives? Which one do you recommend?

I didn't experienced MMB ICS but I can tell you that Maclaw's ICS has better battery life then old droid JB

I think that MMB ICS is faster than maclaws, but you should try them by yourself.

I'am using olddroid's CM10.1 i can use it much longer than maclaws ics (except wifi is on)..

I checked slim ics and I think of using it. But some people report that radio and camera don't work for them. Do you know anything about it?

For me Maclaw CM9 was good, now I use 10.1 by OldDroid and its also good - hope next realase will fix some lags and we see the greatest ROM for our GiO

Yes it is. :victory:

battery is good. one thing i don't like about that ROM is the RAM usage. it eats large amount of RAM so it is not recommended for gaming.

I found CM9 runs well but my only issue with it is the battery drain and lack of camera.
RemICS 1.3 without fix i think is the best, almost 18 hour and battery still about 20%, but the last one not very stable, n the battery not really good too
Battery life should be the same on all ICS roms because they all are based on arco's CM9.

Ummm, shouldn't it be similar but not exactly the same I mean when I use paranoidandroid and CM9 both of them drain my battery alot more than the GB custom ROMs but CM9 drains less then paranoidandroid. Not sure about remICS since I haven't tried it yet.

Hi,
This is my first post. For me the alpha 4 from Arco is the better.

Hey, Which is the best CM ROM for GIO. (The one that has good battery life, non laggy, Attractive interface)
The one i'm using is CM 7.2 democracy but it has poor battery life. Everything else if Excellent.

Slim Bean Or CM10 Or CM9 Which The Better And Why ?

Fast , HD Gaming , Bettery life
Just in time, I have a whole day thinking what ROM that will stay for a while with my phone. I choosing for CM9, Slimbean and CM10, and the thread came up just in time. I also look for fast by default, camera, HD Gaming, most of all, battery life. In short, overall performance.
Need for an advise.
CM10 hands down or SlimBean is just as good as its based off CM10 anyway. CM9 is just too old and has mch poorer performance. Chances are those who promote CM9 hasn't even USED CM10 and is just watching it.
Just try each of them out, everyone has different experiences, i would go for cm9 for now, cm10/ slimbean when kernel 3.0 is fully working, just my opinion.

For now the performance difference is small, until the kernel 3.0 is fully working then we will see the real difference . However cm9 is more stable and I tried both os for a long time to judge . Anyways you are the one to choose witch one you like .

i just flash slim bean and cm10 4 days ago..but revert back to cm9 because of games performance..in my cm9,can play hd games (anomaly baghdad, anomaly korea, defense zone 2) and subway surfer with 122-1024 mhz without lag..on cm10 those games a bit lag with same frequency..

[request]aosp gb

Hello all my xda brothers we have aosp ics 4.0.4 by mmb and jb 4.2.2 by maclaw but no one build an aosp gb and after my opinion aosp gb is the fastest rom we can have....so can someone start to compile it? Pro or Contra and if we reach a high number of pro may be someone will start
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
Definitely pro . As far as i know somebody wanted to do this , can`t remember who though , it was some time ago.
AOSP gb is great too but its just a same as cm7 with no theming support and a bigger battery life.

There is no AOSP/AOKP/CM ROM with zero bugs.. Instead there are ROMs which are stable and good for daily use.. U can give a try for OpenSEMC 4.2 or CM10 FXP 227 or instead for a bug free ROM, u can try Stock .96fw or Trinity's 3.2v ROM.. There are lot of options.. All u gotta do is read my friend..
