[Q] quick question on lupus kernal as i cant post in development - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi all,
first hello im new here,
sorry to post here but im not allowed to post in the correct lupus thread.
i have arc s, LT18i, i have unlocked it and installed ultimate hd 4, with (recommended) latest lupus v16 kernal.
it went fine no probs but i now have no wifi, ive read the thread and there was issues with wifi not working but the latest version 16 states no need for wifi zip as built in??
can anyone confirm this or suggest a kernal that workes well with uhd4
thanks
barkx

Flash the kernel, then do a full wipe and install the ROM. I am on UHD 4.0 as well and everything works fine. As for recommended kernel, Jader recommends LuPuS kernel.

Flash Kernel for stock ICS (LuPuS v16)
Place ROM on SD-Card
Back up user apps and data
Power off phone
Boot to CWM (Keep pressing the Volume Down key after the Sony logo appears or key designated for your phone)
Wipe Data/Factory Reset
Mounts and Storage --> Format /System
Advanced > Wipe Battery Stats
Install zip from SD card > Choose Xperia Ultimate HD
Follow on screen instructions on AROMA.
After Complete Installation untick "reboot" and select reboot in CWM
And you should be up and booming now !!

Don't make it even more complicated, guys. To fix the WiFi issue, you do not have to reinstall the ROM or kernel.
Lupus kernel(s) have built-in menu. Install Terminal Emulator or use 'adb shell', type command 'lupus' and use the wifi option (can not remember, how it was exactly given in the menu).

Boot keeps restarting :(

i was rooting my arc s and it was successfully rooted after that i wanted to install some custom rom on it, i tryed the Modded ICS one and installed there boot.img and now my phone just reboots after it shows the "XPERIA" logo
Please help im new at flashing )
Thanks
hi
So u have flashed boot but not rom?
U need to have the rom on your SD .
Turn off phone boot it up and when boot logo appears repeatly press back button (not sure if there's an indicater on that kernel or not)
This should boot cwm when in cwm make a backup
Select backup and restore then backup
When this completes wipe data ,clear cache and advanced clear dalvik cache
now select install zip from SD ,then choose zip from SD,then locate your rom file select it and hit yes when it finishes ,reboot and enjoy
Volume rocker moves up and down
And home or power button selects
If u can't get into cwm u have made a mistake flashing boot so reflash it before the above
Failing this return to stock by flash original fw thru flash tool
Plenty of tuts on that just search
Hope that helps

is not the solution,i try several times, and always the same results.
Try:
1) copy your rom into sdcard.
2) flash your kernel under fastboot mode, then reboot.
3) keep press volumn button while rebooting, it should b under cwm screen.
4) wipe dalvik cache under advance
5) wipe data partition
6) factory reset, then reboot again
7) go into cwm screen again, then choose install zip frm sdcard, choose n run the rom that u copy into sdcard earlier. Reboot again after completed.
8) u shall wait for a while when restarting... Then should b ok....
U may try this, dunno whether work for u not.

Reminder:
For mooded ics rom, U must use ics stock kernel or doomlord ics advanced stock kernel, its run quite well for me...

I flashed my arc s last night with ICS Kernel with CWM Recovery and JJ's rom, had the same problem but as the above poster mentioned, wipe everything sorted out the problem.
Note: Just factory reset not enough you have to wipe everything

k your second step doesnt make any sense to me.
1. flash 62 ftf. let the phone boot completely
2. flash doom v14 and let phone boot completely(doom already has cwm so dont understand why you download from market)
3. now boot into cwm wipe data, wipe cache partition, and wipe dalvik cache.
4. then flash jokawildv3.zip or watever its called
5. DONT FLASH NOTHING ELSE FOR NOW. just let the phone boot completely.
6. then after you see everything is fine then you flash your modules and any other desired add-ons.
It takes a while to bootup on some roms; the first time. Also try re-downloading the rom/formatting your sd card - may be a file reading error... IF what soloman suggested doesn't work.

kernel arcknight 3.5.1 RC and wifi
why dont working wifi ?
So.... It's not lagging anymore? Then try flashing some other kernel and their corresponding wifi modules. I recommend trinity kernel. You can find it in the first post of jelly sandwich thread.

I didn't have any of the problems that you've been facing when I was using JS. Did you miss out on any important steps which might have resulted in this happening? Try flashing it again properly, the problem shouldn't persist.
is it using different kernel causing different bugs? because i using jellybean 6.2 and ArcKnight_RC3.5.1_OC the pureness advanced settings cannot be open and fc..
best OC kernel for LT15 ?

2. wipe cache partition
3. go to mounts and storage menu and\
4. format /system
5. format/data
6. format cache
7. exit mounts and storage menu
6. go to advance
7. wipe dalvik cache

If I flash back to the GB ROM that's available when I use EMMA (when I tried earlier it is the only "service" that came up). Then do the steps outlined here, will it work? Or should i use the 4.0.4 ROM in the link that you provided? -> http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/399620/LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_Generic_Global.ftf

so i isntall the kernal which i have to downlaod to get stock rom?
Or i can do SOny Update service and restore?
Try first install another kernel. Vegance http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097138 but flash this only FASTBOOT.
If this does not not work try a clean install like this:
Turn on ur phone now then keep pressing volume down to enter CWM.
. Standard operation before installing new rom :
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache partition
- mount and storage -> format /system
- advanced -> wipe dalvik cache
- advanced -> wipe battery stats
. Now install zip from sdcard -> choose the UHD zip file, and follow the instruction in aroma. After finish don't reboot yet.
. Unchecked the reboot in aroma, after finish, u will be back in cwm.
. Now install the wifi modules first ( usually the custom kernel have their own wifi modules).
. reboot system.
. Finish
If this does not not help try the tutorial you sent in from the beginning.
