[Help] Galaxy w bricked - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

Hey guys
first , i installed this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30948064
first time it was normal and smooth , and installed Supercharger V6
before the phone was rebooting it self every 15 min maybe and goes to normal ,im not sure if its cuz of the cpu manager or V6 supercharger
(didn't overclock that much ) suddenly now when i turn on the phone it just shows the samsung logo (only) on and off ,etc....
i can enter the download mode , but can't go to recovery mode
although i flashed the phone with gb 2.3.6 , even with 2.3.5 but nothing worked
i really need some help asap .
Thanks , RedShift

maybe that ram on your handheld is full when u using custom rom, and then the system can't handle that,
and when you flash via odin maybe that file is corrupt,
Sorry for my bad english,

Do you have an sdcard in the phone? If so, take it out and try to go into recovery. See if that works. It happened to me once because of a stupid sdcard issue.
Also you might try taking out the battery and waiting a little while. Then try to get back at the recovery mode.

did you try reflashing cwm?

As long as the phone can go to DL mode you can still restore it....that is just soft bricked
At this point of time forget about stock recovery if you can restore it by flashing CWM then under storage wipe n format every single folder
Then flash back stock ROM n update it to the latest baseband / FW n start rooting it again n flash your preferred ROM
Best in future to do a backup first before you try something new unless you know what you are doing....

When i flash to clockwork mode or any rom
it flashs but when it finish (reboots) it just shows a blackscreen unless i remove the usb cable
it's weird cuz odin can recognize the phone
and shows samsung logo on and off ...
edit :
this is the Odin message when i flash

By reading this and seeing what Odin is displaying you it sounds a bit to me like you resized the partition where the ROM gets flashed to. Just if you have no clue what you did exactly before this happended, how can anybody else know how to revert this?

I also don´t remember. Last time I used Odin was when Arco and Ivedor got the camera working in CM9. So there I used it the last time to flash CWM and installed CM9.
However something got screwed up on his phone and as long we don´t know what exactly caused this, we also can´t tell if this can be fixed at all.

i know the reason
its because the Cwm Sd partition , silly me
now im gonna play dumb and send the phone to Samsung BCI
Do you guys think they will take too much ? :/
i wanna thank all the people who tried to help me , i will never forget that !

[Q] Error When booting up phone

Hey,
Ill explain where i was when this happened, to give everyone a better overview of the problem so someone may be able to help me more efficiently.
Been using phone for a while since it had some out, without rooting and messing around with anything and using pc companion to update firmware and bits,
2 Days ago i saw a nice theme on the arc forums so i thought, i like that and im going to install it, so i downgraded to 2.3.2 using x10 flasher then rooted with gingerbreak, updated to 2.3.3 using ota to keep root.
I started to install bits a pieces of the theme, using a root explorer, changing permissions to rw--r--r on all of the files to make them work.
It was going swimmingly, status bar changed, applications changed (Sms, Settings, Clock) those sorts of things, and then when it came to putting
SemcGenericUxpRes.apk
&
framework-res.apk
into the correct place on the phone,
/system/framework
i did the first one and it worked perfectly, rebooted itself without me pressing anything but i thought that may be normal for sony erricsson androids as i know their systems are different to the basics you get with a htc android phone.
then i put framework-res.apk into the same folder and again it started to reboot itself and i thought, great its all done and will look amazing.
The Sony Erricsson writing appeared, and then starts to bootloop, so now im thinking oh, s##t.
So i pulled the battery and left if for 10 miniutes and put it back in, no joy.
I now go back to using the x10 flasher to reinstall 2.3.2 but i get an error saying that ive not enabled usb debugging, and i probably hadnt as i had only just reinstalled 2.3.3. so i disconnect my phone and try to turn it on. no joy again
Plugged it back in on the off chance it may just have been an slight bug and tried to flash again, this time it started flashing all the bits as it does and then half way through the process it says, Error! Usb debugging not activated, disconnect phone and turn it on.
So this time when i try to turn my phone on, all i get is a Picture of a phone with an Exclamation mark above it, im assuming because the software has corrupted on the install as its only done half of it.
So here is my problem, i cant turn my phone on to get usb debugging on.
I can get into fastboot mode, blue light, holding search and plugging usb in, but dont know where to go from there.
Any Help will be much appreciated.
Many Thanks.
Shotgunfool
The message in flashtool is generic, it just tells you to enable those things when flashtool is done. It will state this wether you encounter an error or not . It shouldn't matter wether they're enabled or not for flashtool to work and flash your phone.
You might try to use SEUS to restore your phone, if i remember correctly a few others has had this problem and resolved it that way.
You might also try to flash the rooted system.img through fastboot.
Next time you mod your phone with rootexplorer just move all apk's/jar files to /system first and then set the permissions and then move them to /system/framework and /system/app this will prevent a bootloop. I learned the hard way aswell, but then again i learned to use flashtool.

Nah SEUS is another tool like Pc Companion . Check out this link, the only one i could find:
e: seems that SE has taken it of their own site as the link, linked to SE's homepage and can not be found. Must be another link somewhere floating around?
You're right you don't need an unlocked BL for theming and it's weird you get that error while flashing.

You could try this:
fastboot erase cache
Regards Dousan...
e: I've googled some more and it seems that it's kind of random and most people get it resolved some how. Trying flashing over and over, waiting till the next day, using a usb cable with ferrit (absolutely no idea what that is), changing usb port, changing cable, changing machine, changing OS etc.
It might be that the file it's sending is to big to handle somehow.
Maybe try to find bin4ry's trhead in the dev section on how to boot CWM (ClockWorkMod) and from there restore your phone with zerojay's rom. It's a flashable .zip to flash from CWM. That might work if it's about the size being send when flashig/sending/booting from fastboot.

I'm out of ideas, but i see that you disconnected the phone after 78 secs when booting the CWM image. I've heard it could take a few min. to boot into. So I would try agian and let it 'hang' for atleast 2-3 min.
If nothing comes out of it i would pm Bin4ry or Alejandrissimo or Blagus for help as i think they would know alot more and they've might encountered this error before. and know how to solvd it?
Regards Dousan...
e: the last code snip you stated seems to point at the fact it's not sending or able to send anything through your usb to your phone for som reason. That error comes up while it's plugged in and while it's unplugged. It might be a drivers problem. Try to reinstall the drivers that came with the fastboot package again. I could be something in your windows settings that's preventing it from working correctly?

Im getting closer, just got CWM Up and running, and i knew it shouldnt have taken long to put the image on my phone, i have a fast pc
Code:
C:\Users\Oscar\Desktop\BL\fastboot>fastboot boot recoveryPLAY.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
(bootloader) USB download speed was 129134kB/s
OKAY [ 0.530s]
booting...
(bootloader) Download buffer format: boot IMG
OKAY [ -0.000s]
finished. total time: 0.530s
lol
im pretty sure thats an error on fastboots part thats a lot of kbs
Although, ive found the weirdest fix to it hanging on sending 'boot'
and you probably wont believe me, but i was just about to go and try another pc so i plugged in my memory stick and as soon as i did, it sent it immediatly, so i have no idea, why, how, but that works
just downloading a rom to flash and fingers crossed it'll work
That's really good to hear, hope it works out this way
About the the fastboot error you refer to, it's all abaout Bits and Bytes - kB and kb and there's a huge difference between them and it's something like 8 times the difference as in 8kB is 1kb. I saw someone explain it somewhere on xda (might've been here in the play forum), that providers use it for misleading costumors to believe they get a much faster internet connection and such

If possible, I would do a backup of the data.ext4 using RZrecovery(maybe in the advanced backup mode or something(I am not using it)), than I would restore an old backup of your phone and maybe this is good enough.
Try to boot your phone. If it works you can try to restore the data.ext4 file in the restore mode of RZrecovery.
I haven't used RZrecovery to long so I am not sure if all this is possible.
If you don't have backup done with RZrecovery than you should find somebody with your firmware in this firmware and ask him kindly wheter he can make a backup of an factory resetted backup and upload it, so you can restore it using RZrecovery.
If everything does not work, than you could try flashing using ODIN. You should find your right firmware first, unless you are good with similar one.
ALL ON YOUR OWN RISK !!! This is only how I would do it.

Hey, don't mix up Download Mode and Recovery Mode !
Recovery Mode is RZrecovery for you.
Download Mode is looking different! And you use other buttons to Enter. Read the tutorial carefully.
I don't understand why you aren't trying to backup your data.ext4 and try to restore an backup. You don't have a backup or what is the reason you want to try ODIN right away.

I just know how to do it with CWM, but I am afraid you wont be able to install CWM without being able to go to download mode. If you have backuped the device a data.ext4 should be included in the backup files. you can later try to restore it.
You have probably only done the backup on the internal sd card (not physical sd card) and don't have access to it.
Download mode is needed to flash via ODIN but not via RZrecovery.
You are the first case I am hearing who can't enter Download Mode after seeing the exclamation mark. Maybe try again, if it fails after a couple of tries, than try this.
Do a full wipe using RZrecovery(does not delete files on your internal and external sd card) than try to go to download mode or try to flash using RZrecovery again.

Yes, if you would be able to go to Download Mode, you could flash the stock recovery by using ODIN.
What is the current status ? Are you able to go to Download mode and pass the exclamation mark by pressing the Volume Up
button ?
Have you read my thread carefully ?

So if this is really the case and it is impossible to go to the download mode, the only possibility is to flash a firmware via RZrecovery.
Because:
ClockWordMod->need download mode or ADB Shell
Stock Recovery -> need Download Mode
Flash a stock ROM -> as far as I know always need Download Mode
The problem is also, RZrecovery isn't very stable (as far as I know) with backups restoring or backuping from/to external sd card, I am not even sure whether it is supported correctly. Well I had always issues. But honestly saying, I don't see any other possibility in your case.
So I have to admit I think there is a high possibility of bricking your device completly. That's way you have to make sure download mode is out of question!
So the only possibility what I see is to try to flash via RZrecovery.
I would do the following:
1. Do a backup of your current ROM (I think you have already done this)
2. Do a full wipe on RZ recovery
3. Put a custom ROM on your external sd card, which requires only CWM or RZrecovery to flash.
4. Restore the custom ROM from external sd card.
If also this fails, you can try to just do a full wipe, restart your device and hope it enters download mode by itself (it does it for me, but I can enter my download mode also manually).
Maybe you should wait for some other advices because I have only this make-or-break advice.
greets and good luck

That's not normal. If you would have waited, I would have adviced you to make a full wipe with the RZrecovery before flashing your device. Because flashing usually does not vanish old files, which may caused the error. Now you can only hope it is not softbricked.

[Q] Please Help, can only enter download mode on my gio

Hello everyone,
I hope someone can help, I can only enter download mode with my gio.
What happened is, I flashed CM9, which worked perfectly, after that, I mounted /system in recovery and I installed the patch v3 zip file for CM9.
turned off my phone and then when i booted it, you see the samsung image, after that you see the gio image and after that, it says 'android' in tiny letters and after about 10 seconds that disappears, and the screen stays black.
I also can not enter recovery mode, only download mode.
I tried flashing stock rom with odin but I dont get how it work.
I also tried Heimdall, I downloaded stock firmware from samfirmware.com and unzipped it, after that I loaded the .MD5 file in Heimdall.
When I load the file into heimdall and put it into th browse directory, I unpacks and stuff but at the end it say 'Firmware.xml missing'.
Can anyone provide me with a detailed description of what to do? (including download links and stuff).
Thanks in advance!!
EDIT: Just downloaded odin multidownloader V4.42 and GIO_v1.0.ops and I installed stock firmware using odin as one-package with the .ops file also loaded.
Now I am stuck in a bootloop and i cant acces recovery mode, any ideas?
EDIT2: If i try to run Odin Multidownloader again this is what the message bar in the lower left says:

any ideas? I really need my phone working tomorrow
dont use heimdall, use ODIN. tutorials are on XDA and sammobile

If you've successfully installed stock firmware & ur phone now bootloops, pull off battery, insert it again, goto stock recovery, & do wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache. Ur prob. will get solved.
For mibib download prob. Visit my thread here:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32155004
It's for galaxy fit but it may help U sort out the prob. & rename ur device specific OPS file correctly.
Hope this helps!!!

Firmware installation was succesfull, but I am still stuck at bootloop and i cant access my recovery.
Any ideas?
EDIT: I tried flashing a different rom, GioPro v1.6, but this one also keeps bootlooping and when I try to acces recovery the screen just stays black..
EDIT2: flashed giopro v1.6 and when I try to access recovery mode, i get the start screen saying "samsung" and also in the upper left corner

I guess my phone is like bricked or so, It is only 1 year old, So if I flash stock rom and bring it to a service center, does that count as Warranty if I say that It happend after updating with Kies?
Oh Bro! That's not bricked. You've not entered recovery mode. Try it correctly by pressing and holding HOME BUTTON+POWER BUTTON!!

Desperated to Flashing Samsung GT-I9082

Hello Everyone!
Im new here and will just get to the point.
I will explain my problem with super detail, so you guys can give me best solution
Source of my Problem
I love summoner war.. Totally love it, but everytime the App update, i have to delete another Apps because the device told me that i dont have enough space to update the game. Even there's no other app except Summoner Wars. So i wondering why my Phone keep telling me that the space isnt enough?
Later i learned there's 'Ghost Files' in my internal memory and it keep getting bigger and bigger. Im googling how to get rid of them and give up because its too complicated for me
Then out of nowhere, i got an idea to re-flash my phone and update it to v4.4.x(Kitkat)

The bigger problem begins
I learned how to reflash my device. Got 2 methods. And need the ROM itself so I downloaded the ROM
1. Using Download Mode + Odin
2. Using Recovery Mode

Device Model : GT-I9082
Firmware Version : 4.2.2

Odin : OdinDownloader_v4.38
Kies : Kies v2.6.3

1. Turned my device off
2. Get to Download Mode
3. Connect device to PC
4. Odin Can't detect my device
Because i hate complicated things, so i moved away to Recovery method. (My biggest mistake)
1. Copy ROM to SD card
2. Turned my device off
3. Get to Recovery Mode
4. Wipe File/Reset Factory > WIPE ALL DATA TO INSTALL NEW ROM (Is this my mistake?)
5. Data Wiped out and locating ROM directory
6. Directory located and Installing ROM.
7. Error, 'Installation Aborted' (There's no status 6/7 message. Just Aborted)
Again, because hate complicated things, i changed my mind to reflash my device and just Reboot it.
And then.. My device Stuck in the booting logo screen, it's not like Bootloop because it doesnt keep restarting over and over. It just hang in logo screen so i cant say its a bootloop.
My first Question is..
What's the name of the Error? its reaaaaaaally bugging me..

Because there's only 2 methods to installing new ROMs, so i focusing to Fix the problem each method.

2. Recovery Mode
How to prevent the 'Installation Aborted' Error at Installing ROMs?

Suggestions so far
1. Download Mode
- Install/Re-Install Samsung Driver (2x Tried. Failed)
- Try another Computer (First Computer is Win 8.1, try to Win 7 Professional. Failed)
- Take the battries out when connecting to PC at Download Mode (My device turned off instead. Failed)
- Change the USB Cable
(First USB Cable is a Samsung Cable, there's notif sound in my PC, there's installing Driver software pop-up in my PC, BUT it tooks forever and Never Finished. Second USB Cable is Oppo F1 Cable, there's notif sound in my PC and nothing else. Failed)
- Enter the Download Mode (Press Vol Up) at the same time when connecting the USB to PC (Fail)
2. Recovery Mode
- Wipe data/Reset Factory > Wipe Chache > Wipe Dalvik Chache (Countless times. Failed)
- Download the original Stock ROM (v4.2.2) and Install it (Same error. Failed)
- Editting ROM data + watching youtube video how to do it
(There's difference between my ROM's Files with in the Video's File, the File of mine started with 'GT' but in the vid started with 'cm' AND the content inside the file is different, in the video is subfolders but in my File is just 2 File: tar.md5 and a .dll. Failed)

My hypothesis so far
1. Download Mode
The problem is in the USB Driver or unsupport Cable
2. Recovery Mode
The problem is, the ROM i used is not the ROM for recovery Installation, the ROM is just for ODIN Installation.

Any other Solution Guys? And sorry for my bad English.

Failed to unbrick (flash write failure), please help

thank you for your kind help.
Serrano i9190 stopped worked today, I copied the debrik.img for i9190 4.4.2 (i've found it here: https://mega.nz/#F!wZtS2KzD!BSQdVcQkUNnE1yu5R8UowA) and the phone booted with it, but display:
WRITE 139008 sectors
FLASH WRITE FAILURE
ddi : mmc_read failed
ODIN MODE
...
WRITE PROTECTED: ENABLE
then I tried to flash with Odin an original Serrano i9190 .pit file and phone wrote:
MMC: read fail
PIT FAIL: TOTAL SECTORS (0)
Now am I using the proper files for debrik? Is it possible the Flash went fault and I can't read and write anything? What can I do here? Thank you!

That debrick image is for another phone, the i9195L. Not sure if that is why you get that msg, I would think it's not, but could be wrong. I think your memory chip has died most likely, probably needs replacing,

thank you for your kind answer, on file was written i9190 4.4.2, so I guess was right one, but my phone was @ Nougat 7.1.2, can someone confirm that this debrick.img works also under these conditions?
How much can I be sure it there the mmc problem is not caused from the wrong .img? Also with Odin I have a failure if trying to write a .pit, what other tests can I do?
Thank you!
@Barabba11
FLASH WRITE FAILURE
ddi : mmc_read failed

Thank you for you kind help,
just for being 100% sure, would you exclude that:
1) the debrick.img based on i9190 4.4.2 should work in any i9190, including if the phone was flashed with Nougat, it should write those 139008 sectors anyway so the fail is not connected with that.
2) WRITE PROTECTED: ENABLE, this is not a software protection rised up for some reasons. The mmc is failing and not a software protection, it is impossible to have a write protection booting with SD
So I can trash the motherboard and try to find a working one (for example from a broken screen)
