I have Bell note 2 running CM 10.1, everything running smooth except of the fact that when I insert OTG adapter the phone freeze's, even if there no flash drive in it.
i thought that it maybe the adapter it self but it working just fine on my Xoom tablet...

Perfectly is a big word.
There are dozens of users in other threads complaining that OTG doesn't work.
I tryed my logitech mouse and my pen drive and it does not work and I'm using the genuine Samsung cable.
I need to try this tonite to decide who's mad
But I heard 4.0.3 has otg support including USB stick using stick mount

Read somewhere the pen drive must be a 'green' drive (as in power saving). Can't for the life of me find where I read it, though
Has to be the most useless add-on IMO

I have dozens of pen drive no one works.
I'm thinking that people who says that USB Host works well on 4.0.2 are using modded kernel.
Read somewhere that Stickmount (on the Market) was required to make usb storage work.
My USB OTG cable and MicroSD card reader have yet to come in so I have yet to confirm thus myself.

4.0.3 + StickMount + cheapy cable + any old USB stick or uSD card reader I can find == WIN on my GN.
Can't comment on 4.0.2.

Yes, USB OTG works on 4.0.2 (ICL53F), try a USB mouse or keyboard. But there is a problem with external (pen) drives as the phone won't mount them. So although USB OTG "works" you can't use it with pen drives.
Your phone needs to be rooted and if it is, get "StickMount" from chainfire from the market. That will solve that problem.
Do you have to have a new ROM or can you just run Stickmount on the stock but rooted phone?

Powered off the phone, connected the Logitech Unifying receiver, booted the phone.
Works both mouse and keyboard at the same time.
Now we need to wait for pen drive support.
you need stickmount and you need to have root, then pendrives should work
as an aside, i'm completely stock 4.0.2 on gsm, and my ps3 controller totally works in shadowgun now!

same here with my logitech pc pad.
Is it my cable?
I updated to 4.0.2 and I have a USB Host cable (http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/24267949/-/Product.html). I tried plugging in a mouse to test, but nothing happens.
What am I suppose to see? a pointer?
Also tried 2 thumb drives with stickmount, but nothing detected.
Trying to work out if it's the cable or the things I'm testing are not compatible.
Thanks

[Q] Galaxy SIII MHL Adapter with One X

Hi There,
I apologies if this has already been answered but i just couldn't locate it... However, the issue is that i've recently bought an original Galaxy S3 MHL Cable (Part#EPL-3FHUBEGSTD) but it doesn't work with my HOX, as i connect it...nothing happens!
So can anyone be kind enough to please tell me whether it's compatible with hox and if it's not then which one can i go for...which is easily available in the market, as i couldn't locate anything made by HTC in Indian market...
Thanks a ton!

Did you plug your charger into the side of the MHL adaptor to power it at the same time? I would of thought it should be compatible.

I believe they should be compatible. I'm using this one which also states it's for samsung and it is working flawlessly.

Thanks for the reply, yeah i tried with the adapter aswell but it still doesn't detect anything...
just for the pointers...i am using ARHD 9.7.2 and i tried to use a couple of kernals to have OTG feature, however that also didn't work and as i've just bought the HDMI cable that also is not working, so could the kernal be the reason? i tried flashing other kernals but still the result is same...i am on 2.17.xxx and i don't have the nand backup so i wont be able to go back to stock aswell... any advice?

Flash the stock kernel and see if works if you haven't already.
Works for me. The phone will only show something when an actual connection is made IIRC.

But it doesn't....tried everything, maybe it has something to do with either kernal or the rom as my OTG is also not working...
Update: Even after going back to stock it doesn't work!!!

[Q] Galaxy Nexus Nexus MHL

Hi there, I bought an MHL cable from Ebay and was trying to connect the phone with TV. I have connected the power cord and did all the setup as required. The phone was charging, but the TV was just showing 'No Signal' as it was not detecting the phone. The adapter looks like a Chinese import at 8$. I tried many suggestion as people have posted here including the connection order of TV, Phone etc and but with no luck. Can someone please help me out here? GNexus is not officially launched in India, but S2 is. So do you think buying the original Samsung S2 adapter will work for Nexus? Thanks in advance!
I have no luck with MHL on this phone. Broken on 99% if not 100% of custom ROM and kernels. Every time I sought support for it I was just told to "use stock ROM and kernel"
Even on doing that my screen glitches and boom. Reboot. Bootloops until I unplug it. I wish you good luck and if you figure out how to get it working, shoot me a pm

Strange Nexus 7 2013 OTG Issue...

Hello there! I came here hoping to find some good answers. This account may be new, but I am definitely familiar with this site and what it can offer. So hello and thanks in advance
So recently I purchased the Nexus 7 2013, rooted it, and all the good stuff. I have the older Nexus 7 as well, and still a wonderful device. The issue I am having with this new Nexus 7 is the OTG support is quite strange. With the older Nexus 7, I would plug in my OTG cable, attach my device(s) and it would work on the fly every time. This new nexus 7 is a different story..
While I can get OTG to work, this is what I have to do. If I attach the OTG cable with a device while it is on, nothing happens. I have used the OTG Troubleshooter app correctly, and I get this message..
Warning: Expected 0, but found 1 hubs. Did you disconnect your OTG?
Click to collapse
Yet if I attach the OTG Cable and my device while the Nexus 7 is turned off, then turn it on, everything works as it should, StickMount detects and mounts the drive properly and all is dandy, but if I remove the OTG and attach again, I would have to reboot in order to use it. I also cannot access OTG devices in recovery, only when I fully boot the Android OS.
Any help on this would be appreciated. If you are wondering, I am using the ElementalX Kernel (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2389022) 1.8 on Android 4.3 (even had the same issues when using 4.4, but worse), but even before I installed this Kernel, I had the exact same issue. I have a feeling I just have a wonky device unlike others, but I'd like to see if I can get some answers here anyway. Thank you for your time.

I just tried a wireless USB mouse (Logi M705) with my N7 2013 using this: http://www.amazon.com/aLLreli®-Adap...&sr=8-11&keywords=allreli&tag=viglink20238-20 (aLLreli® 7-in-1 OTG Adapter Cable) and it worked perfectly.
I am rooted and using Carbon.
My Nexus 7 isnt rooted. :-/
I will buy your OTG Hub, i believe in you that it works! Thanks! I say you when it works when it is by me at home.

It's not mine, just a suggestion. I believe you will need to root your tablet for this to work. And, there are plenty of threads here for rooting. The Nexus Root Toolkit is my choice. Search the forums and\or wugfresh. It's free and works perfectly.
I have that problem found, i needed ro connect my device to a pc.
