My wife busted her device and we're looking for spare parts. Looks like the screen or the controller but either way due to our location we can't get cheap parts

I did tho it's quite expensive taking into account shipping to south america
i might end up giving her mine and buying a new phone for myself
Didn't realize you were there. Well at least you'll have spare parts if you get a new one.

Simple, I would like to know how many of you went back to stock ROM after 4.1.2 was released. I tried a couple of ROMs that had the update included and I was having so many data drops, SOD, Google server disconnections that I said "**** this" and flashed the latest factory image on my phone.
My previous phone was a Motorola Atrix. That phone never received ICS, much less JB update. It made sense to unlock it and flash a tasty JB ROM even if it had bugs. I strongly believe this phone is better on stock firmware than custom. It just feels so much solid.
Did 4.1.2 made you return to stock?

Nope. No issues here either.

Same here. Running smooth as butter. On miui as well.

No. Using CM10 without any major issues.

I'm using cm10 nightly (updated 1 time per week, unless I found a problematic bug) and everything is good, so no point for going to stock (for me, of course).
Nope, still on rasbeanjelly, smooth as can be

Your issues aren't ROM issues. You have radio issues and that could likely be simply a firmware bug or an actual hardware fault. Update your radios and report back.

Yea I'm on Slim bean 4.1.2 with zero issues. Stock does give best user experience, but that should be expected, i like the customization this rom gives me, so I'm rocking it, very great performance as well..

It used to be stock for me, but I found trebuchet smoother than stock launcher recently (Stock is good but I noticed quite irritating choppiness in app drawer that doesn't exist at all in trebuchet), so it's either cm10 or since yesterday Dark PA for me!
About MIUI, version from 1012 (theme - suave) was choppy as hell on my handset. Lag was especially evident on notification pulldown...it basically hurt my eyes. Hopefully it seems to be gone in last build (1019)
No I am using a CM10 based ROM. Very snappy.
No reason for me to go back to stock. Codename Android 3.8.0 works fine for me with Trinity A67 kernel. With stock I wouldn't have nearly as much customization options as with CNA.
Using miui 4.1.2 and loving it!

nope. you'll need to unroot and get back to stock and then get the updates or flash an updated rom w/the frameworks/updates.
the toolkit should get you back to the stock rom but be sure to backup apps via titanium and call logs/sms messages via other apps.
Or just wait as the devs update their roms. Which normally is day or less.
The devs we do have here are top notch.

Can a SAM T879 be flashed to a SAM T889 rom
I noticed at best buy they have a Note II SAM T879 (Android 4.0 OS) for a good price but was wondering if it could be flashed to a newer rom.

You're on the wrong forum. However, that phone is identical to the i717 which has very new ROMS and will be officially getting multiwindow and other features of the Note 2.
Saw this im my drippler app " Let's face it, Android can be a bit fragmented at times. But who says we need to rely on carriers to push updates? Android is much more than a closed OS, ran by carriers. Thanks to the developers modifying Android, we can choose who we rely on for future updates and when we want to receive them. So with the new release of Android 4.2, there is no need to wait for your carrier to push it out, just install it now, here's how:
Prerequisites:
Rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 (how to)
Unlocked Bootloader (how to)" is this supose to be new...the link to the rom takes you to cyanogen page...so im kinda lost lol isnt this what we been flashing for a while now tru cwm xD

I was browsing online and wanted to see if the ROMs were the same because I am getting status 7 error, but there is a work around I just don't wanna brick my wife's phone. Does anyone know if there is a difference or if it can be done. Mainly looking for the stable version of CyanogenMod. All of the links here for cm9 are down or corrupt.

Only use ROMS for this device. Use your computer to download them.

Also there is a stable build of CM by dastin1015. CM 10.1, Wild For The Night, for the E4GT. Zimlokks is also doing nightly builds for it as well. Solid as well. But listen to graydiggy. S2 is NOT the same as the E4GT! Good luck!

Samsung Galaxy S II > GT-i9100
Sprint Epic 4G Touch > SPH-D710.
The look between the 2 phones is different.
The Sam SII Has a pressable Home Button.
The Epic 4G Touch has a home button on display and it
has an extra button to press for google search / searching.
Stick with your phone's model / build. Keep that in mind and to know
what you're phones firm build and base is.
Look at it under Device Settings > About Phone
Cheers mate.
Thank you all

Hey thanks guys for everything, that's kind of what I figured. Although with the wild for night build I had a ton of problems, even on the latest nightly. But I think my wife is just too picky, I even got her back to stock jelly bean rom and she didn't like it, but she didn't like the ice cream sandwich she was on either (stock). I think I will just downgrade her to the Motorola razor flip phone, haha!
Hello,
I am due for an phone upgrade in a few weeks. I currently have a Sprint Samsung Epic 4G Touch with a data/charge port that does not work. I am considering not upgrading to a new phone, but instead tether wirelessly to an android tablet which I may purchase. I have not any success with any tethering applications with the SGS2. As much as I would the newest phone Samsung Galaxy Note 3, I imagine it would not be rooted for a while and I would rather have a phone that can be rooted without too much trouble. I plan to tether an android tablet to it.
Any recommendations or suggestions?
Thank you in advance.

The post above you already said enough. Epic 4G never had an official update beyond FC09/19. If you have GCxx then you are an Epic 4G Touch - separate forum available elsewhere.
