It would be nice but its still 4.1.1. I think all of our custom ROMs are already 4.1.2 with the multi view incorporated into it so it may be a step backwards for us

There are stock 7150 dowloads out there. There akso are stock debloated. I am on miscom or scotts stock debloated. The only difference between this and regular stock4.1.1 on the negative side is custom recovery and root. Since I dont care about those negatives because our 4.1.2 update is most likeky 6 months out ill continue using the he most recent international firmware.

The reality of this is that for future ATT Note II updates, ATT is already setting the tone (hopefully not)
I understand that this is no Vanilla device.. But it's pretty bad/pathetic when other carriers are one up'ing ATT on updates

It's always been this way with them....
You buy a phone from them for what it is.... not for the updates.
You want the latest and greatest and be first to get updates.. buy a Nexus...or regular yearly scheduled updates... buy a I phone
Since your here.. load up fully custom ROMs..and make your phone better than any stock one.. and be happy you can.

Any ideas what this update consists of? Its the first update notification Ive received since purchasing the SGN2.

I realize that is not a T-Mobile ROM, that is why I was surprised when I received an update notification. I would be very pleased to have a T-Mobile update, as I prefer the look and feel of the stock ROMS anyway.
But if I were still running the original T-Mobile ROM, then I would have received an update... I am curious to see what others have received this message and/or update.
I'm still at UVALK8 as well. When I click "Check Updates", it says, "Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available"
My phone is rooted with stock ROM. Does this mean TMO detects the root and wont give me the update?
If yes, will I get the update if I unroot? Then just root again?
When are we going to get 4.1.2 or higher? I assume we will never get 4.2 as the gs4 will be shipping with it.

we already have jellybean 4.1.1. we will get 4.1.2 but i don't see us officially getting 4.2.1 or higher.
So I've got the AT&T Note 2 unlocked through a code from them.
The AWS unlock band works great with my T-mobile plan.

I am saving towards a Galaxy S4, but in the meantime, I was wondering if there is a Rom that can make my S3 look and feel like a S4?
Thank you!
If you're talking about the features like eye tracking and finger hovering over and stuff like that then no. Its nearly impossible to port those things since its completely different hardware and TouchWiz is closed source. There is a couple of ROMs that have multi-window and other goodies but not like the S4. You can search and look around for a modified S4 launcher and theme to make it look like one. But that's as close as you'll get.

Yes, to answer your original question. There is a way to make it look like the S4.
Hyperdrive [XDA Link] - It has a few of the widgets that the S4 has as seen in the screenshots. Other than that, I would say hold off for official updates on the S3.

Only issue is the i747 and i747M seem to be the forgotten models when it comes to updates. I just read that the Verizon model just received the 4.1.2 update, and quite recently Sprint and T-Mobile received it. Also, the i9300 just got the 4.2.2 update. Meanwhile, the most used S3 (i747/i747M) hasn't received anything, nor have there been any news or hints regarding updates.

BS... ATT themselves don't have 4.1.2
they probably do but its unreleased.
Lol if you do please PLEASE provide a system dump and help the devs out. If you do why didn't you say so if every stock TW ROM on xda is only 4.1.1.
If you had it wouldn't you of noticed every single ATT S3 out there was different from yours? .... Sorry and apologize for the language but its straight BS

My AT&T SGH-i747 only came with 4.1.1. (Somehow, I thought I had 4.1.2; but, apparently I was wrong.)
I was also searching for ways to upgrade the software to make it more S4-like. If I must wait, then I must wait. But I really enjoy tinkering with it.
Until recently, I had AOKP Android 4.2.2 on it, but an update (9-10-2013) caused my phone, messaging, and several other apps to disappear.
So now, I'm back to the original factory, unlocked, unrooted, stock Android 4.1.1.
It wants to do an AT&T update, but I don't know what the update is. So, I haven't approved it yet. I want to go back to AOKP, but I can't find the file I used with ODIN to root it the first time.

If you are going to AOKP, I think you just need to flash a recovery, i.e. CWM or TWRP and flash the rom of your choice.
flash rom to 4.1.2
As long as you're not rooted the built in OTA updater in the Settings should update you to 4.1.2. I recommend CF Auto Root and pwncakes' Quantum rom (4.3) if you like AOSP, if not, Hyperdrive is easily the most complete TW rom.

PAC Man rom is truly awesome in 4.3 nightlys.. I use it with lean kernel. battery is great and so is everthing else.
I know there are numerous members including myself, that have updated to KK 4.4.2, and just experienced nothing but crap, in comparison to 4.3, which we cannot go back to. But, luckily there is a Galaxy Note 3/Galaxy S4/Nexus 5 god somewhere. They have heard our complaints about the srewed-up update released, and are currently working on the fix, which will be named 4.4.3. This update will fix numerous issues, involving the most talked about, camera and data drops......ps. connection drops, etc. I've read they are currently testing the update, so in other words, they jumped right on it. I hqve been suffering from the 4.4.2 sickness every since the update, wishing I could, or someone find a way to go back to 4.3. I just recently updated my Galaxy S 4, not aware of the troubles, but didnt run full testing method to ensure that I respected the update. I just immediately fell In love with the smoothness and speed, unaware of the crap under the covers. And then I got bold and updated my Beast of Hardware, the Note 3...........and was overwhelmed by the lack of tlc of the update. But threw all the rebooting, the battery pulls, the waiting for sitez to load, the non responsive buttons, they are working to fix this horrible experience. Thanks you Android for wasting time, but at least aorking to fix the problems. Upon release of the fix, I cant wait to see the sweetness the Dev's bring to the table with the new OS fix.

The update of 4.4.3 starts rolling out at 12am, so the bugs of 4.4.2 will be squashed hopefully, just update and see.

The bootloader is unlocked. Even on 4.4.2. The qfuse won't let you downgrade the bootloader, but it's unlocked. I have the 4.4.2 bootloader with TWRP 2.7.0.0 and running leanKernel, so obviously it's not locked.

Back when 4.4.2 was released a member here that works for Samsung said when it would be released and it was released on the exact day he said it was. He also said another update was already in the works for May so it is no surprise that another should be hitting before long.

Can't wait for the update.
No internet is pretty irritating.
So, the data drop on KK 4.4.2 is something everyone is having? Its annoying me.
