Im need advice, what can bee, which part, what can i try?
Cheers mates...
S8500 has 2 CPUs...
1 from Samsung and 1 from Qualcomm.
You could try Android.

For test, if more stable... then maybe Qualcomm CPU damaged...

Use Google, check Service Manual... How many CPUs...
Restart so often is NOT normal.
It seems Hardware DAMAGE...
Your Wave is half dead...
Maybe Cooling problem... overheating
Maybe mandatory parts of PCB broken/damaged/dead...
In German language...

Answers taken from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2294795
And you ignore hints to read Service Manual...
Taken from S8000 troubleshooting
Code:
1. Input the power 3.8V
2. Check the power-on-current >= 100mA
- If not : Download software
3. Check the voltage
1) C243 = 3V
2) C272 = 1.2V, C273 = 1.8V, C274 = 1.3V
- If not : Check the PMIC200 [B](crack, open, short, etc)[/B]
4. Check the OSC201 = 32kHz
- If not : Check the OSC201 [B](crack, open, short, etc)[/B]
5. If there is no problem from 1 to 4, check the UCP701.
http://www.altehandys.de/downloads/ser-man-sam-gt-s8000-.ppt
Here are "better" real Pics...
But I hope now you understand how hard it is to find damaged parts on your PCB...
If you are smart enough, to find damaged SMD parts and you are able to replace/repair them... then please read first troubleshooting for S8500 Service Manual:
GT-S8500_SVCM_final_Anyservice_100707.pdf
Code:
Check the Vbat Voltage
Check U602(PMIC)
and Power On Voltage
Check AP_PS_HOLD(TP)
>= 2.8V
Check the PMIC200
(if it has some problem, it is to be replaced.)
I have no idea if you expect magic self healing of your Wave...

Is there any info about this? will wm7 be compatible with our devices?
Probably not. HTC never released WM 6.1 for the original Touch.
im sure we will get it

Have you seen any device that is compatible? Have you seen minimum requirements? All that is known about WM7 are some screenshots and some basic features.
So until it is released noone knows if any current device will be compatible.
What an useless thread.

there was a video a while back with wm7 running on the Touch Duel
video link
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/05/11/new-windows-mobile-peeped-in-microsoft-live-mesh-video/
so this obviously means it is compatible on HTC DIAMOND TOO
(considering its not as powerful as the diamond)
Why wouldn't wm7 be compatible? Maybe slower, if wm7 is heavier, but I'm rather sure it would run... even if some features (like multi-touch screen) are not working.
WM7 Chassis 1 Specification
Core requirements:
Processor: ARM v6+, L2 Cache, VFP, Open GL ES 2.0 graphics HW (QCOM 8k, Nvidia AP15/16* and TI 3430 all meet spec)
Memory: 256MB+ DRAM, 1G+ Flash (at least 512MB fast flash – 5MB/s unbuffered read @4K block size)
Display: WVGA (800×480) or FWVGA (854×480) 3.5” or greater diagonal
Touch: Multi-touch required
Battery: Sufficient to meet Days of Use LTK requirements.
Controls: Start, Back, Send and End are required (soft controls allowed as long as they are always present).
Peripherals:
Camera: 3MP+, flash optional, 2nd camera optional (VGA resolution sufficient)
GPS: aGPS required
Sensors required: Light Sensor, Compass (3 axis, 5 degrees, 100 Hz sample rate), Accelerometer (3 axis, 2mg resolution, 100 Hz sample rate)
USB: High speed required, 20 MB/s transfer rate.
BlueTooth: BT2.1 required, must run MSFT BT stack, CSR BlueCore6 or later recommended.
Wi-Fi: 802.11B/G required, must run MSFT Native Wi-Fi stack, Atheros 6002 or Broadcomm 4325 recommended.
Connectors: Micro USB and 3.5mm Audio required.
Options:
FM tuner: If tuner HW is present it will be detected and supported by the Media application.
Haptics
SD Card (Micro SD recommended)
DPAD, qwerty or 12/20 key keyboards all optional
As I can read, this won't be compatible with our Diamond due to HW limitations...

I'll rather see HTC Sense running in our diamonds but I guess anything should be better than WM5-WM6x. All nice developements are made by xda cookers or HTC itself not by M$.
Hope next year would be an interesting cooking year
After installing RSD Lite. I could see S Flash OMAP3630 after I plugin the defy via usb while the phone is on bootloader (Power+VolUp)
Does it mean the the defy has a OMAP3630 and not a 3610?
Yes, a lot of people says "that is an error!! DONT CARE!"
A loot of people says, no, other says yes, and motorola don't care about it...
But in my opinion have a 3630 ( not sure ).
I think thats what the driver say it is...
The only way to find out will be to install a 3610 driver specifically and try if PC recognizes this. Doesnt it make sense?
why motorola make a 3630 driver for a 3610 CPu?
no logic...

Yes it's possible, but if the bit rate goes up 4mb/s, you can't play it.. why?
easy, the band width isn't sufficient, and phone overloads.
I thing a bitrate of 30000kbps it's ok, nothing more....
PD: srry for my bad english
the processor of defy is a Texas Instruments OMAP3630 because it included a POWERVR SGX graphics 530. POWERVR is recognized by Quadrant.

That's physically impossible!
Only 3630/3622 come with the package required for POP (stacked memory chip). If it is 361x, where is the memory chip? It's very hard to miss shuch a huge chip.

No, that's an outdated presentation. In the latest (Nov. 2010) Technical Reference Manual, ALL 36xx variants have identical full speed GPUs.
So where can we find the Windows 7 drivers for this so I can get RSDLite working?
At the moment getting a msg indicating drivers are not installed??
Edit: used winxp machine. S/W issue at my end.
hi, i want do something on AM3703, it's same with omap 3630? thanks in advance!
I hope so ,but ,I don't believe it has the opma3630.may be there is an error on the software. If defy's cpu is 3630,it can be more attracktive!so,why moto didn't tell us it's cpu is 3630?
Believe what u want...it works...and it works great
Thats all that matters
When the Defy+ comes out, just benchmark it...surely a 3610 + kyro will be slightly less powerful than a 3630

Same reason they used when they said it didn't have ANY Graphic Chip and the same one when they said the phone only had a 2 point Multitouch Screen.
I believe they limited the device softwarewise in order to strategise the launch of its successor Defy+ .
Why just not compare performance with phones for which we know they have 3630 for sure and then we will know

Sounds like either moto has a plan and lied, or their spokes person havent a clue.
I vote for the latter...
i think defy's cpu is 3630.so defy+ update cpu to 3630 is a joke.
Hi ,
Although many people believe that defy uses OMAP 3630 instead of 3610/3615 or something else, you can only get this conclusion from the 3D/video performance or features defy supported. But the problem is, can you be sure?
I wrote a small native C program and read out the value of CPU's register that controls the OMAP FEATURE. The value is 0xC00. You can check the 36xx TRM:
at focus.ti.com/pdfs/wtbu/SWPU177B_FinalEPDF_12_04_2009.pdf
The values means that defy has a IVA 2.2 accellerator 2.2 and SGX .
So the CPU is neither 3610 nor 3615 . It is definitely 3630-800.
I think this is a convincing proof. If you still dont believe it, the only way is to open your defy and take a look at the ID on the chip...
BTW: I only tested on my phone, which is UK 2.21 version. Not sure for other version....

I am not sure. Can someone post a video sample? By saying "720P" , what is the coding format? Maybe someone can post a 720P video sample recorded by MS2.

haha I agree!!!
@reasly: could you please explain what your program exactly does? i understand it as a tool which reads out a special hardware register (the one which stands für the iva2.2 module according to the ti document) and returns a value. the value 0xC00 means module existent and something like 0x000 means module not existent. am i understanding it correctly?
TRM does not list such CPU as 3610, it mentions 3611 as most limited by features. As 36xx are produced for big corporations like Moto, we can't be sure what's really going on with CPU naming. It looks more like marketing stuff for me.
I also got [email protected] for Defy bough at T-Mobile USA. It does not directly confirm that the CPU is 3630. It just reports that such features as IVA or SGX are not disabled.
Motorola can say the CPU is 3610 (whatever) with those features enabled ;-)
my point exactly! its just names & marketing mumbo jumbo. the important thing is the enabled AND ACCESSABLE features. and with th iva2.2 module working there is a good possibility to enable 720p encoding/decoding on the device, which would be important for me.

720p (1280x720) is too high a resolution for the Defy (854x480). You would be wasting space/resources to display a scaled-down video.
Consider converting a 720p video to a more useful format for your device
Unless ofcourse you just want to see it, 'because it can be done'.
I took a look at the technical reference (page 193 of 3630..lol!) in the CONTROL_FEATURE_OMAP_STATUS register description.
The value 0xC00 translates to 0000 1100 0000 0000, that is NO IVA hardware acceleration and 128K L2 cache, if I'm right.
Where did you get those info's about it being the 3630??
You should give that program to a droid X user to run on its phone...

So, the next craftsmen decided to port Android on Samsung Wave. Information about this published administrator Polish-bada-world.pl with nick watero. Also known major problems faced by them boys:

I hope to have it by the end of the week.
It would be great if this tablet could get some support from the custom rom makers!

I have had it for a week. It truly is a great tab. And I agree, once we get Custom recovery and Custom Roms, this will be hard to beat.
Is the hardware known by other brands so it is easier to develop for?

I've ordered one as well an hope to have it delivered next week
I am presently in Brussels, Belgium but when I return home late Sunday night (Denmark) there is one of these baby's waiting for me. So I can not tell anything about my first impressions but I am up for a custom ROM for sure....
I have flashed every phone and tablet for me or my kids regardless of the brand Chinese or a branded for as long as I can remember...
A version of Cyanogenmod 11 on this with NovaHD over it seems like a very nice deal
So I am excited about ROM development on this as well.... Keep up the good work.
How to root?

I've found that manual http://www.arctablet.com/blog/featured/root-onda-v812-onda-v972-and-allwinner-a31-based-tablets/. I don't have tablet, though. Going to order after end of Chinese holiday. So, I could not check whether it works for 975M
I received mine today and I must say I'm impressed. Looks solid with a good finished quality.

Yes it's normal, I have the same.
Does SwiftKey runs smoothly at your end? And youtube?
Verstuurd vanaf mijn Find 5 met Tapatalk
OK, but i think that isn't normal behaviour...with v1.0.5 app YouTube dont work, work fine tubemate o youtube in stock browser. I dont know about swiftkey, because i dont have it installed now...
Edit.update about swiftkey, that not run smoothly...

I have now played with my new Onda V975M for a couple of days and like others I am quite impressed about the build quality, screen and the feel in general.
Speakers is mediocre at best not even close to an IPAD, screen is bright and crisp, charging port is also a full micro USB (finally on a Chinese tablet), Micro HDMI as well (have not tested that yet) and I have stuck a 32Gb MicroSD in the slot for video and media only as the internal memory also is 32GB again nice with a cheap Chinese Tablet with plenty of storage.. Do not seems to get hot even with extended heavy use.
Cant really give a clear picture on battery because I have charged it every night last couple of days but even with heavy use during a full day the lowest I have had it is around 27%.
It does however feel like like there is a lot of lost/hidden potential in this tablet. I am absolutely sure if anybody where to make a CM11 for this it would be a hole new beast. Better drivers for both processor and GPU is needed.
I am experiencing stuttering both with YouTube and streaming video from other video streaming sites. It does shut WiFi AND memory card off when in sleep but both fires up really quick when woken up. It also seems to get slow'ish if a lot of APP's is open at a time, again with the processor speed and GPU it should be a real powerhouse. If you look at the specs only it do NOT perform as expected. I can't emphasise how much I am looking forward to some clever bloke is launching a custom performance ROM for this...
Please Please get to work...
Still I would recommend this to a friend... best bang for the buck right now I think??
Robert
I agree, this could be a great Nexus device if we could get a custom rom.

I am really satisfied with the tablet overall. If Onda releases KitKat, this tab will be a killer regarding the price. The predecessor, the normal 975 has already official 4.4 update from onda. I think it is only a matter of time before they bring it to our device.

Wifi off when screen off is bug of the latest Fw,like youtube bug, because in v1.0.4 there arent.
For fix WiFi off we van just replace the "module" /system/lib/dhd.Ko with the one present in the Fw 1.0.4

My 64GB card works fine but the 32GB one unmounts whenever I lock my screen. I've read that the solution is to reformat the card in the tablet. I'll try it out later after I backup the card.
***Update***
Had to format my 32GB card in my Galaxy Note 3 as there no option to do it in the V975m.
Tested my newly formatted card in the Tablet, but the problem still persists.
