Pretty much every xperia play can fastboot...but if you want to test your bootloader just open fastboot, download clockworkmod and test it,if it doesn't work you can update via OTA (update center on your phone) and keep root

Hi, Sorry, this is a noob question, but...
I know that rooting and unlocking are different things. And I know that unlocking a phone does not give you a rooted phone. But does a rooting a phone give you an unlocked phone.
In other words, I have rooted my W and installed a custom rom. Does this mean I can put another sim in it?

Rooting doesnt unlock the phone. Locking/Unlocking resides in a different memory area and its not affected by custom Rom.

Hi !
Just bought an online unlock code and when I enter it when prompted on my S3 it says network unlock unsuccessful, the guy on the website says I ruined my phone by rooting it and I was a smart kid thinking rooting my phone was cool..(Just told him the phone was rooted...)
Could the root really be the problem ? If yes, reverting to stock ROM and unrooting with a stock firmware would would work ? Is there any chances that I can't unlock the phone because of this ? Thanks guys !

I highly doubt it's because you're rooted. I've never heard of that one before. Seems like he's a scam.
Try this though...should work on any TWiz rom.

that customer service dude is worthless.
i believe you have to be on stock (touchwiz firmware) to unlock. i may be wrong
Not really!! Root hardly matters. And it doesn't need for you to be on stock to unlock. I unlocked mine on custom ROM, and my other S3 that's on rooted stock.

Hello everyone
I just got a note 2 off mining and it's locked to Bell. I want to unlock it to work with other carriers. I know that there is a way to self unlock but you need an older version of android. My note is 4.3 and I read that trying to downgrade will get my device bricked. So, being new and unexperienced at this, can someone recommend me what to do? Is there a safe way to downgrade from 4.3 to 4.1.1 or should I just pay someone to unlock it? If the latter, is there a really cheap online unlocking for Canadian carriers?
Thank you for your help
Does anyone know how to root the SM 837V tablet yet? And if so would you share on how to root?
The SM-T837V variant is bootloader locked so I wouldn't count on being able to root it.
