This hotword detection crashbug is getting ridiculous - Samsung Captivate Glide

It crashes whether you opt in or out of Google Now now. And the "do a search and catch it" doesn't work anymore -- you can see the search actually start and complete just before it crashes, argh!
I had to resort to uploading a SearchSettings.bin from a different device using adb push/pull to get the damn thing to run. So that's the current workaround, we'll see how long it lasts.
GOOGLE. FIX THIS. All you have to do is add one more blob to your search package compiled for armv7 non-Neon. It'll take ten ****ing minutes. While you're at it, you could really, REALLY do with some method of reporting problems.

Google Navigation and other crashes/freezing apps (CDMA, Sprint)

I clean installed (RAR file) the Blazn build w/ sound a couple of days ago. Now I having a lot more stability issues and Navigation freezes up every time I open it. I have searched through google and on here, and I see people with the same problems with the new build but no solutions or acknowledgement that multiple users are having issues like this. Here is what I did.
I go into google maps to insure I have a GPS fix. It finds me within 2 meters or so. I then go into navigation. It doesn't give me the location error because I have a GPS lock. I then type in the address I want to go to. I have the bar at the bottoms saying "Getting GPS" or something like that. In the middle of the screen it has the "getting directions" or whatever it says, but the little spinning circle animation freezes up. If I click to try to get to the menu. Android tells me it is not responding and I can Force Close or Wait. I force close. Of course Android opens it back up. I then hear the first voice prompt of where to go on my directions. When I click on Navigation to get back into it. It shows me the next turn, but freezes up again. This will go on forever until I force maps and navigation to close manually for good by going into settings and force stopping the processes.
I thought maybe it was the Blazn build, so I renamed the boot directory to something else and clean installed (using the RAR file) the stock build. While it is more stable and I don't get as many random crashes of apps and processes, I still get the same problem with Navigation.
I also have tried to format and attempted to clean install both builds and still have the same problem.
Is there any Sprint customer able to get navigation to work and not crash? I am thinking this is a CDMA/Sprint problem only, and it has something to do with the app accessing the sound, or at least that is my hypothesis, because it was working in all prior builds up to this one.
Any suggestions or thoughts?

I love you guys... I have lurked here for months and xda-developers for years. I love how you post toward people that don't post all the time. You treat them like idiots, crazy people or whiners.
I am not freaking out. I am not a newb. Is this not the place to post problems with the xandroid project? I am posting a problem that I have not seen posted on here before. I am not complaining about the usual stuff that still isn't working. I understand it is a work in progress. I was just posting a new problem that has come up since the sound started working. I did this so that potential programmers will see it, and to also see and get feedback on whether other Sprint users or other carrier's users are having the same problem, or if theirs is working fine.

Thats what we are known for .. but think about this.. where would the dev process be without us ? lol ..So sorry for treating you like one of the crazies ..
My advice is to hit up PPC geeks since most of the cdma community is there. Fyi, im not involved with xdandroid. Just with the kernel development and Those have really nothing to do with one another. However we do cross paths from time to time. Also dont be afraid to joint the irc chat for xdandroid. People there will be able to give you a better idea of whats up.

Syndicate Rom google search issue

First post and would just like to thank everyone on here who has paved the way thus far in modding our phones. I was very skeptical at first but i have gotten the hang of everything since last week.
Anyways just flashed the syndicate EB13 madhouse rom and it works great.
I am having issues with my google search widget. Every time I try to do a search a pop-up window asks if I would like to use my location.
Agree or Disagree
Either way i choose it pops right back up.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I have know posted a video. I really do not want to have to reflash this ROM. The first few times i did it my phone kept going into airplane mode.
Message: Use My Location
Do you want to allow Google to use location for improve search results and other services.
It keeps popping up over and over. I really want to use my google search instead of pulling up the internet. Any suggestions would be aprreciated
PM me for link to vid since I am too new to post and outside link. I have searched and searched for anything close to this and I would its as simple as possibly deleting the app and reflashing it or something.
Maybe try going into your settings> locations etc and turning location services on. Search and then turn off. Maybe that will work around it? Then try searching again without services on and see if the pop up still comes up. Otherwise, you can always search through the address bar in the browser. Set your search engine through the settings in the browser...

EVO Q&A forum tries to push a download

This happens when I'm reading in the Evo 4G Q&A forum. I'll read a topic/thread, then hit the back button on my browser (Opera 11.01), and a file download window will pop up, reading a different file name every time, but always from view.atdmt.com. I'm able to cancel it each time, but it happens nearly every time I try to "back out" of a thread. If I'm not mistaken (which I very well may be,) atdmt is related to ads? Maybe an ad not loading properly or something?
I've searched the forums, but didn't see anyone else with this problem. Like I said, I can cancel the DL, so I'm not too worried, but I was wondering if anyone has had this happen, and just thought the mods might want to know about it.
(By the by, my machine isn't infected with anything. I've run a full virus scan since it first started happening a couple of weeks back.)
Thanks, all.
A quick Google search shows it's probably malware on your PC. Have you scanned your PC for malware using something like Malwarebytes?
I've run all-out Norton 360 a few times, but I'm downloading & running Malwarebytes right now. I'll report back with results. Thanks for the suggestion.
Well, I ran Malwarebytes, and it found one problem in the registry (which I had it fix). Rebooted, opened the forum back up, and for the first couple of threads, everything was fine, then boom, another file download. Only difference this time is it says it's from ad.doubleclick.net. Again, I can cancel it, so I'm not too worried. Guess it's something I'm going to have to live with.
Thanks again for the advice, anyway.
These domains are safe but shouldn't be trying to download anything.
Does it affect you in another browser?
After futzing with the forum in Firefox, I can't seem to recreate the problem. Must be Opera having the problem with something. I just thought it was kinda weird that it only happens in that particular forum.
Soooo, yeah. I'm too much of an Opera junkie to flip around browsers when I want to read that, so it's something I'm going to have to deal with. Maybe it'll be fixed the next time Opera does a little update (fingers crossed).

bing maps almost got it right, any fix?

sounds ridiculous but i just updated my focus to mango on monday. for the longest time my home pc would not update it, kept giving different error codes each time. i had to replace my original phone with an ATT refurbished one and so i just assumed in the refurbishing process this "new" phone was FUBAR with updates. anyway someone recommended trying another PC, so i used my netbook to no avail and then my work laptop with great success. mango is awesome!
anyway, i love how bing maps will read directions through bluetooth in my car, but i am a little irritated that it won't continue to read the directions until i get to my destination? it will just read the direction i click on and the one after it, but then say "thank you, goodbye" and will stop giving directions. i have to manually go into bing maps again and click on the direction i want to be read to me. just curious if anyone has gotten it to read all the directions until you get to the new location without touching your phone? i notice you can go through a text message conversation without touching your phone via bluetooth, so it would be nice if you could do that with maps also.
Nope, that is the way it was designed to "work" (despite it being an illegal activity in many areas). There is nothing you can do about it, short of buying a real GPS nav system from the marketplace.
Question, Why wasn't this an issue with WM? As crapy as WM was the Maps app worked flawlessly and makes this new one look like crap. Just trying to understand I guess at to why it wasn't an issue before but it is now. It is kind of dangerous to have to tap and look at the screen to see where your going.

Force update check?

Is there are anyway to force a marketplace update check? If there is no manual way, would it be possible to make an app to have the marketplace check for updates?
I've searched all over, but never really found a solid answer on this. Thanks for any help!

"Just go in the Marketplace, search for the app, open the description, then back out...wait a second and go back in. "

Ahh I see. I knew about that lil trick, but it is a lil inconvenient to check several apps with this method. That at least gets the job done though. I was hoping there was a method that would check everything on the phone at once. Not sure how the OS does the app checking, but I've heard it just does it 'periodically". Not sure how often that is, but I have seen where it find updates for certain apps, but it didn't on others when there was an update for it. Kinda strange however it does it's checks.
Would it be possible to make an app that forces the marketplace to do a full check on apps?

Yeah some have said turning wifi on and leaving to charger (this keeps wifi on in some phones?) helps the phone getting updates.
I'm guessing it is not possible to make such app, due to limitations of the platform. But maybe one could make an app which checks the selected apps from marketplace, lets say once in an hour, and then notifies the user if the app has been updated. How this would be better than let the marketplace check for updates? Dunno, maybe in some cases little bit faster, but it would be wasting resources (battery) in my option.
Maybe its just better to let the marketplace check for updates
Thanks for the info/help. I understand what you mean. I guess I'm a lil impatient with certain apps and their frequent updates. So the entire problem here is me.
Does WP8 have the same issue of delayed and overlooked update on certain apps?
