[SHARE] 81 AWESOME Boot Animations - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

User raishiro has created 81 boot animations from the artist Paolo Čerić's work of animated GIFs. There are some very high quality boot animations so be sure to check them out from the thread linked below.
Download the XHDPI resolution (this is the closest to our phone's resolution).
Place the bootanimation.zip file in the /data/local folder to survive rom flashes.

that still doesn't work. from what i have read it doesn't work an every kind of rom. on the one i am using (wicked V4) you need to change the bootsamsung.qmg, bootsamsungloop.qmg and shutdown.qmg files

Correct me if I'm wrong as I don't own an S4, but to get the animations work with my S3 I needed to change my kernel to one that supports custom boot animations. All Samsung phones have them disabled by default. Either do that or flash cyanogenmod.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe TouchWiz roms (stock and customs based on it like WICKED) use the .qmg animations while customs based on CM/AOSP use bootanimation.zip/shutanimation.zip

You are right. But on the S3 there was a kernel mod that allowed .zip animations to work.

Ok I just made a CWM zip file, should work, haven't test it just yet though. (Will not work with Talon based kernels because it needs to be renamed to sanim.zip) (Lol I just tried it, yucky ... really blurry)
Update: correct one now LOL
FYI, I downloaded this from the link provided at ausdroid dot net and flashed through CWM and it works great (which linked to a filesonic d/load)

the kernel has to support boot animations, check with the kernel dev
with talon you have to change the name of the zip

Custom boot animations and binaries on GINGERBREAD ( CF-Root versions >= 2.9, broken in 2.8 ! )
CF-Root also supports custom boot animations:
- /system/media/bootanimation.zip
- /data/local/bootanimation.zip
CF-Root v3.0 and up also support:
- /data/local/bootanimation.bin
according to the dev's page it does follow the instructions above
download the bootanimation.zip direct from the media fire link on first page and then move using root explorer

I9000 BOOTANIMATION Zip || Original Standard Stock Galaxy S Animation

Some Custom Kernels replace the original Bootanimation because "Custom Bootanimation Support". So here is the Original as a Encoded Zip-Version.
THIS IS THE FINAL LAGFREE-VERSION FOR SAMSUNG GALAXY S.
if you want to make it smoother, just read this . but i have modified the desc.txt and for me it looks like original
perherps it is necessary to rename in sanim.zip or bootanimation.zip
1. look in your folder /system/media for sanim.zip or bootanimation.zip
2. note permissions
3. replace with new zip and set noted permissions
4. be happy.
download with smooth fps settings:

or
look at the attachment...

smooth means the speed of the animation
the attached file in post#1 is not for flash.
semaphore supports custom bootanimation. you can easyly replace bootanimations, see the instructions in post#1
- use a root explorer like "ghost commander"
- go in your folder /system/media and look for "bootanimation.zip" or "sanim.zip"
if you don't understand, just post in your language, perherps someone can help

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus GT-I9250 using Tapatalk!
if you have semaphore, you can use the animation.
try to mount system and flash.
if you've done look in the folder /system/media
last tip: just ask at the semaphore thread for instructions.
Bootloop!
Hello,
i applied your new bootanimation but now it is getting in some sort of bootloop i 'don't see swirley animation of the S, I only see ANDROID..
what do i have to do??
Fast response please
maybe you have to rename it in sanim.zip or bootanimion.zip or something similar
just take a look for a single zip-file in /system/media

go into recovery, try wipe cache and dalvik cache and fix permissions
and when nothing will help, just flash the kernel again
Custom bootanimation is usually named
bootanimation.zip or sanim.zip
Look in /data/local or /system/media
Rename the custom bootanimation, and SGS default
/system/media/bootsamsung.qmg
is shown at next boot.
Unless default is missing, there is no need to install the file provided in this thread to revert to original Samsung.

no, there is everything working fine
i cant understand, why Basjoo has no stock bootanimation displayed
he has flash rooted stock rom and semaphore, no bootanimation.
dont know what he wants with the zipfile, when there is the bootanimation.qmg supported.
it should be displayed.

no after flashing value pack for the second time i got the boot animation back, but my problem is that it is laggy.. So i wanted to replace it with a smoother bootanimation. I thought that i had to delete both bootsamsung.qmg and bootsamsungloop.qmg files and replace them with the new bootanimation.zip

[BOOT][PORT] Galaxy Nexus Boot Animation MDPI

Hey guys! I know you're all hyped-up with Jelly Bean, and I just ported THE Galaxy Nexus' Jelly Bean boot animation for you.
Here it is: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/38889733/bootanimation.zip
Enjoy!
Remember to press thanks, share, and give me credit (and credit to Google, of course).
--Installation instructions:
If you have a 100% stock ROM, then this won't work at all for you. Samsung has their proprietary Boot animation file extensions and they support sound. For non-stock ROMs, like CM7, CM9, CM10, or custom stock-based ROMs, you need to go to your root explorer (might be ES File Explorer or Root Explorer), go to /system/media and delete the bootanimation.zip (or, alternatively, change its extension to .bak, to keep a backup, just in case). Then paste the zip I provided, and change the permissions (by holding down the .zip folder, go to the "Change Permissions" option) this way:
x x -
x - -
x - -
Reboot, and that's it!
-----------------------------------
Edit: Copied the instructions from post #21, since many people were asking how to install it.
Thanks bro...

the first one doesnt work because u did not create zip as "keep" ... its simply compressed!
After u change it to keep and install it ... size is really really really OFF!

They can but you have to change a few files to make it work. A custom kernel that supports it is recommended. However if ur on a stock kernel,
Go to /system/bin/ and find the file called "samsungani" and delete it. Then find the file called "bootanimation", and rename it to samsungani. Place the downloaded bootanimation.zip in /system/media/

And please only post if you like it or just hit the thanks...Anything else please refrain from posting..Thank you
thanks mate
but i think it is not so good idea to flash one bootanimation in two different place's
and the bootanimation is called bootanimation.zip
most of the roms have
\system\customize\resource\hTC_bootup_one.zip
so you should make separate zips or a aroma installer

well i did flash this on my phone to test and works fine...sorry i am all new to this the only real way i know how to do it is through rootexplorer which is probably i guess harder..
and i do not get what you are trying to say though cause this will be in \system\customize\resource once flashed anyway and replacing the one that is on your phone...apologies if i am wrong though
you are wrong mate
if you have this in you
\system\customize\resource\hTC_bootup_one.zip
and you flash a bootanimation with a different name
then it will not work because the system will search for this ->hTC_bootup_one<-
file name
there is a other place where devs can change the place and name of the file
so if i where you i really make a other one
and not make a zip with 1 bootanimation that flashes in 3 different places

So you saying I should just rename the zip then. Sorry I am confused

He means that different ROMs have the boot animation in different locations and it is named differently. Due to that, yout flashable zip won't work on all ROMs
It would be a lot easier if you uploaded just the zip which contains the animation (non flashable) and every user could rename it according to their ROM and place it manually.
Any sample pictures of the anim?

I just quick made the zip and just put it in most common places.
Otherwise the thread will be full of reports it didn't work.

Well you can make few versions.. but there are simply to much variables for all.
Just write in OP you have a version for data/local and system/customize/resources.
For all the rest provide plain bootanimation.zip and and explain the manual method with correct permission settings
