So after all this time of having my HOX and never having any issues, I woke up this morning to a bright yellow mark on the right side of my display.
I've had this device since it came out and always saw the comments about this issue. And now it happens to me...
Tried using pixel fixers from play store but none have helped.
Am I just to either accept it or get a new device?

A hardware fault for sure... Why don't you send it to htc and see how much it costs to fix it?

Hello everyone,
here's my problem.
After 7 days of normal usage (apart from poor battery life and some slightly annoying screen flickering issues) all 3 soft keys suddenly stopped being responsive. The backlight is still working though. Factory reset sorted no effect. As you may imagine, using the phone has become a real pain.
I have contacted HTC and I am currently waiting for their reply.
I just need to keep my hands away from trying to disassemble and see what went wrong
I was just wondering if anyone has got a similar problem.
Thanks
I have the same problem
I still wait replay from htc
Same happened to me. Tried a reset, boot loader relock, and a factory restore. Nothing helped. Mine was returned to phonehouse.fr, should have a replacement in 10 days.
Disappointed to say the least.

Is your touch screen unresponsive as well or just the soft keys?

Just the keys for me.

I had the same problem with mine. not only did the softkeys not work but if you dragged the notifications bar down you could not push it back up
I sent the phone back to the store and they gave me a replacement which is working brilliantly!
apparently it happens because ICS is not designed for softkeys only...at least that's what a developer told me
I too have same issue as from day 1, hv contacted my operator and now waiting for replacement (applied hard reset both via settings and also from boot menu, no success)

SW update to 1.28 did not solve the matter either, means 100% hw issue...
I will sell the new One as soon as I get it, I do not want this One anymore.

replying myself
well, after seeing how ugly the new galaxy is, decided to keep OneX, have received my replacement yesterday, this new One is working flawlessly, no any bugs/lags and now I am quite happy with my OneX. Surely this One is the phone of the year.
Cheers!

My soft keys are not working tis morning too!
Went to the care center but it was closed due to public holiday.
Called the hotline and the guy said will arrange a pick up for my phone in the evening and till now i wasted my whole night waiting for nobody~
Sigh~
Hi,
My sister's phone (HTC One X) has been acting crazy lately. The screen suddenly became blank (black). Soft keys lights come on/off though but the screen always black.
I tried to do hard reset using vol/down + power but couldn't get that menu up on the screen, just blank.
I'm sure it's not rooted but not sure what stock firmware on the phone. Any idea how to kick the phone out of this freeze / hang ?
Cheers,
Abdul
more over, holding the powerbutton for 10 sec (soft reset) does nothing to the phone !
really strange thing and don't know how to fix it.
I would appreciate your help.
Sounds like hardware failure, most likely the screen is dead. I doubt any software updates will revive it

Thanks Orjan, I always thought HTC is more reliable than this. I opened a ticket with HTC, I hope they answer back tomorrow.
Cheers
Yeah I thought so too but it seems like one x are haunted with hardware problems. Have not seen so many hardware failures on any other thread before, I think HTC might have rushed this one to get ahead of the competitions. I really miss my one x I had too turn it over to the store the microphone wasn't working properly.

Ok, quick update, HTC US said they can't fix the phone since its International version, they offered me AT&T version for free , not totally happy since the international version comes with quad CPU vs dual for AT&T.

Yeah, I had to chase them ... I called like 1000 times until they finally came up with the this solution.
I know it has been talked a lot about yellow spots, but I couldn't find a clear answer to my question.
Obviously I have a yellow spot which gets more dense when the device is warmer. I am about to decide whether to send my HOX for repair or wait to see whether yellow spots will disappear in time. I just wonder what is maximum amount time I have to wait to be sure that yellow spots will remain permanently.
I had a yellow dot on the bottom right of the screen was small but quite annoying because I knew it was there. I ran the charmander Rom from jan and used faux kernel and after a few days it disappeared.
I can't remember wether charmander was a newer base than I had or if maybe it was the kernel but since then it never returned
Hope this helps

Mine disappeared after a day or two, then it came back and wouldn't go away. HTC repaired it for free.
It has been 2 weeks since I have discovered it so they are not going anywhere. I need to send it to HTC. Thanks for replies

Pretty sure my options are just send it in for repair at this stage, but just incase i thought i'd make a topic anyways. I wasn't trying to hack it or anything infact i recently unrooted the damn thing...about 3-4 weeks ago, in hopes id recieve the JB OTA. Either way the screen suddenly stopped working today but it'll still reset if i held the button down and charge when plugged. then all of a sudden it vibrated, wouldn't even restart anymore, and the phones not even charging. i tried different cables and my friends HTC One X charger too incase it was the cahrger (doubt it since the phone had 80% battery before the screen turned off anyways but whatever) and still nothing. Im guessing its dead somehow, and hopefully can get it repaired free, but has anyone else heard of anything like this and if so is there an easier fix than sending it to HTC?
Nothing anyone can do if it won't turn on. Hardware problem maybe.

aight fair enough, guess ill have to take it to htc.
Can you hear an input sound when you plug it to a windows computer?
Does device manager show anything?

nope, no sound and nothing shows up
I recently had the BSoD on my One x (rooted and flashed with custom rom) I could not boot into bootloader, see the screen when turned on etc due to a constant black screen.
I decided, what the hell, lets try for a repair at HTC, the worst that would happen is they would charge me for the repairs.
Well... To cut a long story short (after waiting 3 1/2 weeks for my phone to come back).... HTC sent me a HTC One!
Just wondering if anyone else has had this instance or if it was an error on HTC's behalf?
Thanks for reading!

Nothing really, Just general day to day usage of the phone, maybe an hour of gaming, social networking, Gmails etc.. Stated getting graphical glitches about a week before the phone's screen went completely off, but never thought anything of it.
They probably couldn't fix it and were out of One X's so they just sent what they had.
Or maybe it was just a mistake ( someone forgot to add the "X" on some paper )
i know one guy who lives just 20 km from my home and he said he also has to send the phone in ...got back also one...because his hox had also problems with apx like mine...i have to wait till next week or so...my phone couldn't be fixed too...my whole system/mainboard is ****ed up...i will see if i get a new mainboard or even new hox...or if i have luck the htc one
