I accidentally dropped it and the screen broke and now won't turn on. My upgrade isn't till August 1st, but I do have insurance through sprint. I'm not sure I want to pay the deductible though...What should I do?
Look for a thread from tuscani81. He has the parts you need. Should your motherboard be OK its an easy swap and cheaper than asurion.

To the Community --
anyone have experience returning a rooted device to the company that insures devices?
I just paid them my $175 "deductible" (after dropping and destroying my screen) and am concerned I'll get slapped with additional fees for rooting...
Thanks in advance.

You make a thread before on general and the mods moved to questions because questions thread is where this is belong. To answer your question YOU DO NOT GOING TO HAVE ANY PROBLEMS RETURNING YOUR PHONE ROOTED. It is a insurance claim not a warranty claim. Warranty claims with SAMSUNG for sure you need to go back to stock, but with insurance claims they do not care about that.

Thanks for your reply -- I was wondering what happened to my thread!
Cheers.
Since my warranty is unofficially voided, should I not be paying insurance still? Or would insurance still cover any accidents?
If you have asurion. They,ll still cover you.

warranty - for manufacturer defects only
insurance - for dumb things done to phone
With insurance it doesn't matter it is rooted or not. You pay $175 deductible (or whatever it is now) and get a new phone. You could have ****ed it up rooting and flashing roms and it doesn't matter. Same for water damage or just breaking the phone.

I think this has been removed due to people having their kids rack up the cost of their cell phone bill from purchasing apps and making in app purchases. Whats wrong with just using your credit/debit card?

I still can on my my Galaxy S4.
I still can. But I know kids do that. They buy apps and rack up the bill. I know because I've done it. Of course when I was younger.

Oh @android1063, when will you learn that QUESTIONS go in Q&A? So I see your account @Greg2013 was banned. Probably for your repetitive questions. So how many accounts does that make this? Like 10?

Hey guys so im thinking of getting a nexus 5 to replace my d2spr but i had a question. Currently im on a family plan and my mother is due for an upgrade but doesnt want it, can i pre order a phone from bestbuy or somewhere similar and once I get the phone just go on sprint.com and activate the phone under my number or do i need to activate it on her line for 24 hours then i can swap it to my account and put her original or my galaxy s iii on her account?
I think it has to be on the upgrade line for 30 days
I went to Sams club and they allowed me to "steal" my mom's upgrade and I now have mine due but no need for a phone... There was no waiting period or anything so it might depend on the store
