[Q] Cracked Screen. How to factory erase - LG Optimus G (International)

Okay so I know this is probably futile..but I recently cracked my Optimus G screen and I was gonna sell it for parts but I have one dilemma- I cannot wipe my info..I have managed to get into the wipe menu..but for some reason the geniuses at LG designed the phone to require touch input to select the wipe function unlike the power button on other Androids...
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!
I have tried downloading the LG software but that also requires me going into the phone and selecting USB mode which I cannot!

If you have usb debugging ac5ivated you can do it via adb.

Try using LG On-screen Phone.Able to use PC Monitor and PC Mouse for the Phone operation w/out touch screen.

[Q] Problem with LGNSPT

Hey guys i have a concern.
I have the LG Optimus G (sprint). Now I rooted it and that went swimmingly but when I tried to unlock bootloader using freegee app, it soft bricked my phone. It either stops on the LG screen or when I hold volume down+power key, it will shut off and then turn on or shut off completely. No worries because I can put It into download mode right? Well once I do that and connect it to LGNPST, I cannot locate the .dll file I need to actually try to restore phone back to stock and I have the .dll file.
This is the only way i know to fix my phone that actually works and won't hard brick my phone. Does anyone have any ideas? It will be very appreciated.

Did you register the dll?
6. Start a command prompt as admin
7. Type regsvr32 "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\Models\LGNPST_LS970.dll"
So in reference to your picture in Adri's thread... That com port seems awfully high me. See if there's a way to change it. It seems the Com ports are usually 3,4 and 6,7. But then it all depends on your computers configuration.

are you on stock or custom rom?
if you are on stock, you can always try LG onscreen phone.

Well, can't think of anything.the only would be lg service mode.when you are on stock, turning off phone and pressing vol up +power will bring service mode, especially made to recover files, but i didn't managed to acces the files,as it says only for lg service.

Hey Kimitza!
thank you for this advise. will try that too, wont give up
If you unlock it by flashing a teenybin through lgnpst you'll be able to boot into twrp recovery and access /data/media through adb.

Help!!! Bricked lg g pad

Hello guys a friend of mine has tried to flash a cwm recovery from unknown sources apk file. the bottom line is that the pad is bricked.
the pad doesn't boot, when connected to charger nothing happens and when i tried to enter download mode it was not possible. the pad isn't responding to anything.
the pad was rooted. is there any solution for this problem or we need to send it to lg???
It's too early to panic and give up on it.
Get it into factory recovery mode by the button combination. You can find instructions on this site (and there is even a video on YouTube). Just remember that it's kinda tricky (I personally did it more than a dozen times and sometimes it took me up to 15 min to do it right).
You may check this thread to force go back to stock ROM first, probably unbrick it during the process

Hi, I have an LG G Pad v500 with the same problem. I was trying to unlock my bootloader. Then I replaced my aboot to this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2698267, following this guide: http://www.grupoandroid.com/topic/1....t-todo-en-uno/.
I have an LG L70 D325 and it worked to me, so I tried to do the same with my LG G Pad.
Now my LG G Pad doesn't turn on. My screen is black and I can't access "Download Mode" nor "Recovery Mode" and nothing else. It's seems like my device is dead.
Can someone help me?
Is there something that I can do to fix my device?
I appreciate all kind of help!!!

[HELP]Black Screen on VK810

I'm not that familiar with LG devices (usually messing with Samsung) so hope I didn't just brick this thing. The device is a VK810 and before flashing was rooted w/stock 4.4.2 on it and stock recovery. Installed TWRP, performed wipes of system, data, internal, and format in preparation for new rom. Then flashed this stock rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-...-stock-rooted-lollipop-rom-int-g-pad-t3079312 and then flashed SuperSU. Rebooted but system never comes up. Nothing. Not boot screen, LG logo, nothing. Device was at 97% battery before flashing and have tried plugging into power cord and holding down combination of buttons. Cannot get into download mode or anything else. When the device is plugged into the PC via USB I hear it connect and when holding the power button it will disconnect and reconnect in a loop. However, the screen is always black.
Tried this also with no luck so far:

Although I didn't try and flash what you did, I wasn't able to put mine into Download mode to recover it either and only received a black screen! Turned out it was just ridiculously low on charge. I knew it was 'working' because with a USB cable in to the PC and holding the power button on the tab it was making connect and disconnect noises. Your best bet is to plug it into the mains charger and hold the power and/or power + vol down (I'm not sure what worked, I did a combination) until you get an LG logo. when you get to that, let it charge fully. (You should see the battery logo on screen)
Shouldn't have a problem once it's fully charged.

So is this tablet a brick now or is there a way to recovery? Not sure how just flashing a rom/kernel bricks a tablet and prevents the screen from coming on. The bootloader did not get updated or messed with as far as I know.
Hi. Sorry to say but you flashed a ROM for the V500 international variant of the G Pad 8.3, which is incompatible work the VK810.4G variant. There's a third variant, the V510 as well.
Even if the screen is blank does the PC indicate the right entry in the tablet in the Modem section, if you go through the motions of putting the tablet in Download mode, which are to have the original USB cable into USB 2.0 port, with the tablet completely off (hopefully), press and hold the Up Volume button and while holding it, connect the other end of the USB cable to the tablet. You should be able to let go of the up volume button now.
Then try LG Flash Tool 2014 with the 11A KDZ from my signature. 11A is both easiest to root and to install TWRP. If you get that far you can flash my ROM from my signature, make sure you have TWRP updated to v2.8.7.0 before doing so and follow the directions on the OP of my ROM thread.

Unfortunately pressing any button and plugging in the USB cable shows nothing on the screen. The PC chimes when it is connected and disconnected but that is all. Can't remember if there is a charging light on the tablet but when plugged into the wall charger nothing lights up. If the tablet is plugged into the PC and power button pressed it will chime connect and disconnect in a loop.
I realize now the rom was not for this version but wish someone could tell me how just flashing a rom/kernel combination (with no bootlooder changes) causes the tablet to not even power on. Doesn't make sense. Will probably have to send it in for repair cause it seems I've tried everything.

I haven't downloaded the ROM so I don't know what it contains. Are you sure it doesn't contain a bootloader? Did you look inside the zip to see if there's an aboot.img in it? On the VS985 G3 (and my VK810 ROM which I based on @hsbadr 's JasmineROM), all stock based ROMs contain the proper bootloader.
On @xdabbeb 's VS985 v2.0 ROM, the bootloader is in the bootstack flashable zip and not in the ROM zip, but the instructions are too flash the bootstack zip too.
There's other partitions than the bootloader that would cause a catastrophic issue sick as your experiencing. Why exactly? Can't say other than simply that the ROM contains partitions made for another device, they're incompatible and therefore makes your device not work at all.
I figured your only option would be to have it repaired. You could say it happened while or after using the official LG recovery tool under Windows.
Okay, I went ahead and downloaded the ROM. As you said, it doesn't contain a bootloader but it does have the rpm and tz partitions. According to rpm = elf binary/power management, tz = elf binary/QCom trustzone secure exec[/QUOTE]
I would guess that those two would totally hose being flashed on the wrong device if the kernel doesn't. Just a guess, though.

I see your point but even with the wrong kernel a tablet should charge when turned off. Should be no software running whatsoever to prohibit that.
Anyways, I sent the tablet back to LG for repair. They stated it has a charging issue. Should be getting it back soon and will for sure flash the correct stuff on it this time.

I disagree. When Android devices are off, and you plug them in to charge them, at least for a bit when the battery charging animation loads and runs, something is running, and the files used for that device off battery charging animation are located with the rest of the Android system files.
Cool, hope you have as good experience with their RMA service as I did.

g pad uk410 intalled TWRP to bootimg slot

i rooted my us cellular uk410, got in a hurry and installed TWRP zip to the boot image zip slot and never boots. now it's essentially soft bricked. is there any way to recover my tablet?
Does it go into Download mode and do they provide KDZ files for your device?

when I try, it displays the TWRP launcher screen where the LG logo should come up. the screen is unresponsive. I tried using the lg recovery tool. doesn't work. however the tablet does show up on my in my menu and I can get to internal storage.
I cannot turn the tablet off, I have to let it die on it's own. it never goes to sleep either.

I'm sorry mate. If you can't it into Download mode I don't know any other options. You installed the right drivers for your device on Windows? Rebooted the PC after installing the driver (with the tablet disconnected)? Attempt to put the tablet in Download mode - it can take up to 10 minutes for Windows to load the driver every time you try to connect the same device to a different USB 2.0 port. Are you using a USB 2.0 port? Preferably one right off the motherboard and not through a hub? Using the original USB cable?
Those are my last ideas. If it shows up at all it should show up in the Modem or Ports section of Device Manager. If it shows up as QHSUSB_BULK, google that term and you might find a way to recover.
I was able to install CM boot animation, then install CM 12.1 for v410 and so far so good.
