Hi Guys
Currently i have a pair of earphones from Nokia. it comes together with my old phone N8. but the thing is when i plugged in the earphones on my Samsung Galaxy devices, like Note and it doesn't sound normal at all. When i am playing a song i can't hear any vocal sounds, only some Instruments sounds or washed out sounds. Anyone knows what is happening ?
I'm getting the same results both PC and Tablet
Hello there,
I'm afraid that I cannot really help you but I observed a problem slightly similar to yours. It happens when the music is played over one headphone only (not sure how to describe that), like when the music comes out of one earphone only. Maybe that helps you a little.

I think you can throw away your earphones and buy a new one. I've just posted in another thread some recommandions
That's a shame though. I'm sure it's just not compatible with Samsung devices. I have a stock Samsung earphones and it works with my Note no problem at all.
Yeah some brands don't go well with other ones

Definitely gotta invest in some new headphones. Bummer you have to do it, but definitely will be worth it for the future.

Hi all!
I have some really annoying problem with my Gio.
When I plug the heaphones, I hear the analog crackles (like playing vinyls).
Have you any ideas?
Stock Samsung firmware, GioPRO 1.4 and CM7.1/7.2 - the same problem.
With DSP Man., PowerAMP EQ/Eff. and without all of this - the same problem.
I get static as well, but not really crackling. Dunno if anything can be done about it. It's pretty common on laptops as well.
So, I must to use my warranty?
I really won't to do this, I don't like to go back to stock 2.3.5, but I think I don't have any chose?
I'd say try to wait for a few more users to chime in and hear what they say. If it's a common issue with this model then it might not be worth risking the hassle of replacing it just to get another phone with the same problem.
But like I said, I'm not getting crackling so it might be only you. I'm using Particle Android btw.
me to do when I put the CPU frequency to a minimum
Maybe that's because the processor to do it slowly
Sorry for my english
Hmmmm, it have sense ;-)
I'll try to make it faster ;-)

None effect. Do you think service will do something with that?
Puck only headphones or speaker,too?
No idea about your warranty, yet my Gio's headphones also do the same thing while playing FM radio. In my case, I think the problem comes from headphones, because I hear the same noise while using them on my computer.

No, it exists on all headphones, what I connecting to my Gio (original Samsung, SoundMagic PL30, SoundMagic E10 and some of others headphones from my friends).
Switch off your 3G/WiFi while playing..
I think this could be the reason.
I think this is normal.
every gio I have seen has this noise on headphones.
but it depends on headphones too (better headphones=less noise)
I dont have noise with iphone headphones attached.
see galaxy gio review in gsmarena. sound quality sucks!!!
I only have noise when on the road. I believe it might have to do with 2g/3g cells.
BTW, with PowerAmp sound quality of the gio is excellent, IMHO.
Bought high end phones today and yes I have little crack when plug in or out phones but dont have any other noise but with cheap phones there was noise all the time when music was off

Same on mine too!
Besides crancles, i only got it working at 100% when i tried with my Creative Zen earphones!
Got a pair of Creative EP480 and now works perfectly. I think that the problem might be the mini jack input, because i´ve got an Sennheiser hi quality headphones and the problem remains.
Don't blame the gio blame the ace too, cuz it has those crackles too....

I had cracles to, but if you set your CPU to not go below 480 Mhz no more cracles for me !
Strange. I suffer the issue only on stock on both headphones and the speaker.
Neither on CyanogenMod 7 nor on 9 I don't hear them.
I've found one workaround. On stock using PlayerPro with DSP pack and increased audio buffer let cracks go.
I have some noise with some aftermarket headphones on my GIO, but my original (EHS60) headset working flawless..
i have a screen off profile set to 122-340 with smartassv2 and that got rid of any problems with the sound for me.
I get a weird warbling/static/crackle noise during any audio playback, though actually it's more of a high-pitched whine that I can barely hear. On phiex's CM7.2 with $40 Panasonic in-ears.
So, to clarify, it's a non-issue for me.

I switched from a Nexus S to Captivate Glide because I simply could not stand NOT having a physical keyboard. And while this phone is like a dream come true in almost all aspects, the sound quality from the phone's speakers is....not as good as it was in the Nexus. The difference is clearly noticeable when I play a midi file. The sound quality while using earphones is perfect, however, which leads me to believe that the "problem" lies in the phone's speakers. One of my friends told me about some Voodoo kernel that is supposed to improve sound quality (I don't know much about that part) so I want to know if there is something that can be done, software wise, to improve the sound quality coming from the phone's speakers (sounds odd but this wouldn't be the first time something surprises me ).
TLDR version: Sound from phone speaker not good. Sound in earphone good. Need something to make speaker sound better. No hardware tinkering.
Try Volume+ from Google play. This may help
I second that. I've been using volume+ for a while, and it works great. My phone is much louder now.

If you have root and CWM check out the Beats app on the Play Store
beats works for glide with root and CWM? if so its god damn sweet!
Tried both methods. Unmodified Nexus S still sounds better.
To get an idea of what I'm saying, try listening to this:
[http]://dl[dot]dropbox[dot]com/u/16631047/Test/ffl2TitleSong.mid
on the captivate glide. First listen using earphones and then using the phone speakers. There is a distinct difference, especially on the higher notes, the speaker seems to get a grainy, raspy quality to the sound. That doesn't happen on the Nexus S.
Update: I checked again using earphones and it turns out that this problem occurs on the earphones as well. The music on Nexus S doesn't get that grainy quality, even on the shrillest notes while the one on captivate glide gets that problem...
So I guess it's because of the difference of sound cards, specifically the MIDI player, in the phone then, instead of the speakers? Would there be a way to work around that, getting that kind of audio into the Glide?
Does anyone else get white noise (similar to a television) in the background when listening to the music player or YouTube etc using headphones? So far I've tried two pairs besides the stock (which didn't have this problem but maybe that's because the quality is so bad you can't notice) so I don't think it's the headphones that are the problem.

I'm experiencing there very same problem especially after listening to YouTube videos. Not really noticeable while listening to the music on high volume but after turning the video or music off I get a very disturbing noise in the headphones

Im using a 300 dollar headphone (sennheiser) and i cant hear the noise ...
Maybe the problem are the headphones you used , try to use one whit better quality...
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Well, I've never experienced this problem when using these headphones with any other device, and as I said I have tried two different pairs. Also $300 is a lot to pay for a set of headphones.

I get the same issue, am sure others do too. One way round it is to use a bluetooth apt-x compatible adaptor I think.....
Although if others don't get it then I would like to know too, then I will send it back for a replacement!
I don't give a flying feck how expensive the earphones you use are. There is white noise at low sounds levels due to the tegra 3's useless DAC. Delusional types wont accept this tho so brace yourself for the odd pre pubescent tantrum below:
its the headphones that comes with the phone guys. Im using the HOX headphones with PC and the same thing happens on the PC. Nothing to do with the phone itself.

I'm getting the same thing... I don't think it just happens with headphones though. If you listen carefully to the phones speakers while playing audio you can hear it too. It's definitely more noticeable with YouTube but it's there for all audio. Really annoying. Has anyone tried playing audio through Bluetooth and do you get the same issue?
Evening all,
So I'm on the fence at the minute,
Short story I have the option to get the M8 in replacement for my Note 3 with multiple issues
I dont want to wait for S5 because I'm kinda fed up now with Sammy not changing their S series in design or features for that matter.
So anyway can anyone tell me how good the music is through headphones? I know the dual speakers are amazing just haven't been able to test my music through the headphone jack.
I've believe there is no equalizer on the music app? which is no off putting but I do like to mess bout abit with the sound.
any input from owners would be great!!
Cheers . .

I've played music off the SD card, Pandora and TuneIn all sounded good and plenty loud on my gaming head phones and just as well on a pair of $30 ear buds. Very happy with it here.
Cheers for you input I think I will get this as long as store has its stock . Might even try get them throw in the dot case

Just curious but what carrier is allowing you to make that switch. I'm assuming its because you've replaced the Note 3 multiple times via warranty and the issue has not been resolved...
Yeah that's right the note 3 had same issue on two different phones . . It's with phones4u but I'm with EE but essentially it's phones4u that are swapping

The headphone quality is top notch, volume is super loud, very good for headphones, bass is super punchy and clean, highs aren`t grainy, plenty of power, maybe an inline amp?, hiss is minimal, ink black on most, only trace hiss on my silver cable se535`s which is very very very good, considering they would pick up hiss on my one x+ even when the internal amp was off and no music was playing!. Did I mention the bass was good?, because its probably the best i`ve heard, at least on any mobile device.
I'm glad I'm not the only one switching from a note 3. You say punchy bass, is it similar to cyanogenmods bass boost ?

With the bundled headphones, it sounds amazing. Better than any phone I've owned IMO, and I've owned pretty much all of them at one stage or another
GSM Arena did tests and rated it as having the best audio performance of any phone...

Difficult for me to say personally as my headphones have an odd sound signature, have to install an EQ to get them sounding good.

I had a similar problem with the LG G2. First one I had had the treble was waaay too low. Installed an EQ to fix it, and just assumed that's the way it sounded.
Got another G2 two months later and it was fine out of the box.. don't think it had been updated either. Weird.
Maybe try someone else's M8 - yours may be faulty?

Thanks but its definitely the headphones, reviews made the sound signature sound cool but in reality it is unnatural, even though they were very expensive. Had the same problem with the One X but once I installed Poweramp and fiddled with the EQ they sounded great.
Ah OK

Said goodbye to my note 3 which screen size is the only thing I'm missing so far but that's it.
Audio through headphones errrmm well let's just say I had viper4android on my note and it has been beaten all over ! Fantastic quality! My headphones are only Marley branded ones so nothing high spec but I got lost In the music and just sat there while the phone did all the work!
Very pleased with this phone . . Very pure android compared to other os overlays I've experienced . .

Personally, I don't like to use any kind of equalizer.
If you rip the audio "loselessly"(not in mp4 format, mp3 spoils the quality) from the CD you bought, I think equalizer would be no needed.
As for the phone itself, the build-in music player supports flac file, it should be convenient for us, no conversion needed.:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

I had this problem when I tried the Motorola headphones on my Samsung.
Are you using the original Samsung headphones?
If so, make sure the jack is firmly plugged all the way in.

Im using my Sol Republic V10's. I was having the issue this week and last night and it wouldn't do it on my Note 1 or Note 3. This morning I plugged them in my tab and the problem was gone. I'm worried somethings wrong with the jack but I'm gonna swap my headphones out at best buy today and see what happens. It's seated in the jack real good by the way.
Sound is amazing. I own the Sony X Headphones (MDRX10)
Yup it must have been the connection. New headphones, no issues. Just need viper and life will be good!
