Just wondering, has anyone managed to pair their one x with a sixasis ps3 controller through Bluetooth?
I'm running cm10.1 rc2 official and I installed sixaxis pair tool on win7, re assigned the BT address to match the one in the sixaxis app on the one x, start the driver and press the PS button but nothing, it won't show up...
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Same for me on CM10, but works great on Sense.

Hi,
yes I've used the search function and pretty much scoured the whole net, but couldn't find anything regarding my particular problem.
I have an unrooted German HTC One X- no branding as far as I can tell. I can currently use my PS3 Controller via OTG amd it works fine, but Bluetooth doesn't work ANYMORE. the phone did once Detect my controller via BT, requested a PIN to pair and then it just stopped. Now it can't even find it anymore.
What's the deal? That tells me it should be theoretically possible to use my pad via BT. Of course my phone's BT adress is stored in the controller... I really don't know what to do anymore.
Thanks in advance for any help!

you need a rooted rom and the app called sixaxis so you can use it via bluetooth otherwise it won't work ^^
even with normal bluetooth mode it wouldn't work
Thanks for the quick reply!
However, I'd really like to know why my phone did detect it once without root... makes me think there has to be a way, although I can't really say that as I know very little about the One X and rooting in general.
Is it possible that the Android 4.2 update will help with this?
my one x also detected it one time but only one time...and no it wont solve it...therefore if you want to use via bluetooth you have to root your stock rom or flash a pre-rooted rom like the custom roms out here
Thanks for the reply again. Is anyone working on an app that would work without root? Is it even techincally possible, and if not, why?

Not possible without root ...only if the manufacturer or Google itself can enable it in their "roms" why you don't root your stock Rom or using a pre-rooted Rom ?

Well, I haven't really looked into it so far and everything I wanted to do with my phone, I could do - until now of course. I guess I'm also a tad bit discouraged by people telling me that the One X is difficult to root, although from what little I've seen it doesn't require more than following step by step guides...
What do you think; is there some merit to that? Is the One X more complicated in that sense?
I'm actually contemplating to root it now, but I want to know how long it'd roughly take. I wouldn't mind doing stuff with the console, but if there's an easier, faster, more reliable and more convenient solution, then shoot! (Unless it isnt just the barebones stock OS/ROM - I really don't need to fiddle with processor speed and the like, root apps are all I would ever need)
P.S.: What is a pre-rooted ROM and would it be easier/faster to get running?

At first to root hox its easier then with some other phones second there are some tools with which you can root it faster as typing all every time in cmd etc so it will make the most job...you just need to past some things in htcdev.com...you just need to follow those steps etc...you can also root your stock Rom which is atm on your phone so you just can install root required apps or if you want a custom kernel....with pre-rooted Rom I mean customs roms...they are already rooted so you can flash them and install whichever app which requires root ....if you aren't stupid in pc things like cmd or using tools where all is stated then it won't take long...not more then half an hour...really easy to do...if you have questions while rooting your stock Rom or flashing another Rom you can write me a pm

I tried HTC_IME (not sure whether it was this same one) earlier, and I don't really get the charm. Is it just the languages supported? It's not multi-touch I believe and I missed a lot of letter due to that, especially space. I am currently using the Droid X Multi-touch and it's faster than everything else (and I've tried almost all). The thing is that I can type fast enough on this not to need prediction, I only use that for spelling correctione etc.
Been using this for awhile to skin my own HTC IME, first on my Milestone, then on my Galaxy.

well, start by setting up either a linux partition, or install cygwin (you need the custom one in the dsixda kitchen thread) and setting up your kitchen, but for the most par, just make sure you are trying to port a non-sense rom with a sense base, or vise-versa
Also, always replace /system/usr and /system/bin/akmd
but you will figure out what else on your own

Dont know if this will help or not. You may or may not be aware of it. I checked out the thread a little, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445517 and development has been suspended. Apparently there were some problems with wifi and cell service on the latest version 3.0 from the little bit I read there. I did notice a few people saying that v2.0.1 was working pretty good for them though.
It also appears that they had it working for the Legend in v2.0.1 so that could be the easiest port if you do decide to tackle it. (The Legend is nearly identical to our Espresso if I am remembering correctly)
v3.0 was available for the Wildfire and the Salsa, and since we have a working port of Salsa, that may help as well (for either the 3.0 or 2.0.1).
Sorry I can't be much more help than this right now. Hopefully this can help give you some ideas.

Hi all,
I just bought my new HTC One V, day before yesterday.
Playing sound (i.e., music) through the speakers, I only hear one channel (left or right, not sure).
Playing sound through headphones or bluetooth, I hear both.
Is that normal for this phone? Or is it a hardware fault (I have tried several music players. The stock player, vlc, vanilla).
The example song I was using was 'No expectations' from the Rolling stones....
At the lead in, where you have the rhythm guitar playing the chords, and then the lead guitar comes in with the slide on the other channel (mostly)....
well, its that slide guitar that I barely hear (because it is mainly on that channel that isn't being played through the phone speaker).
So, what do you reckon. Take it back? Or is this normal? As long as it is not a fault, then I am satisfied.
Thanks in advance!
sean
Is it a bug, or is it a feature?
Hi guys,
i'm hoping someone else still owns this phone... and can tell me if they hear both channels (left & right) out of the regular speaker when playing music.... surely someone can quickly check this for me?
Gratefully,
Sean
I checked with this http://www.audiocheck.net/audiotests_stereo.php and I only could hear left
Hi
Yes its "normal"
Speaker is actually mono and right channel is "skipped"
But dont ask me why the right one
max
ok, good enough
Thanks guys,
guess it is a firmware stuff up ... and we all suffer from it.
Granted, not many people listen to music through that little speaker, but sometimes one has no choice....
and then to only hear one channel, its a little disappointing ..... htc....
Otherwise, so far, a good phone.
thanks again for your answers.
Hi
You wont believe it
THIS IS A BUG IN HTC STOCK KERNEL!!!!!
Well - next KISS kernel will have a fix
Max
Not surprised
Hey Hey!
thanks for the info!
I didn't think it was normal.
And while it is a little disappointing to find what I thought such an obvious bug in a popular phone,
i've been nothing but impressed so far with the number of updates coming through from HTC,
so if they do indeed manage to fix this one soon, they'll have one (more) happy customer.
still no resolution
@maxwen
So, a long long time between updates for the phone, and when one comes, still no fix for the sound.
My version numbers (in Germany) are now:
Android: 4.0.3
HTC Sense version: 4.0
Software number: 2.22.401.6
HTCSDK API Level 4.11
HTC Extension version: 403_1_GA_5
Kernel version: 3.0.16-g133e482
checked my stereo song from the Rolling stones, and still no twanging guitar in prominence.
Guess HTC doesn't read this forum...
What made you think there'd be a fix coming, maxwen?

Yes, i'm sure it is easy. However, it is not the case where it runs well which I am cautious about, but the case when it does not.
Suddenly, an easy operation becomes not so easy.
What I think I will need to find out are:
1. optimal method to root
2. If possible to backup firmware/os state beforehand
3. Of course, no use backing up unless it is possible to easily restore after accidentally bricking
4. if one can do all this from linux
My need/want becomes now even more urgent, as that latest update I just installed removed from me the the possible to open a browser of choice from a link in my email (for example) and now always only opens the stock browser (which does not suit me).

Hi all.
I was wondering if there is anyway to get the best of both worlds with my one x?? I need usb mass storage mode at work for using the phone as a usb drive to transfer files as and when i need them. Also use it at home. To achieve this i flashed the cm10.1 4.2.2 rom. Its a nice rom and I was a happy bunny to get usb mass storage back up and running. Only issue is that I (and my kids) used the slow motion camera on video recording quite a lot and its now gone.
My question is: Can I have both of these with a different rom? Can I flash a camera apk seperately to get the slow motion back? I have searched and searched on through the forums but its either one or the other. I love the one x but im up for contract renewal next month so it i cant get what I want out of this phone im going to get a different one. My wifes galaxy s 3 can do it all so might go back to samsung but I liked the quality of htc slightly better than s3.
Any help will be most appreciated.

Hi guys. I'm convert ing my AT&T M8 to GPe since I'm used to using my nexus tablet so much. This is my first shot at custom ROMs with android but I used to be big into the homebrew scene in the good old PSP days, so I'm not a stranger to modifying devices past their potential lol.
I've flashed my custom recovery and have installed supersu to the device, however.0, after running firewater, it fails and says firewater can't work with the device. It stops after "chugging first bottle"
I even installed Insertcoin rom because it says to do it with a rom with an insecure kernel for better results and it still fails.
- on a side note, while I have insertcoin installed in the meantime, does anyone know why after I flashed the rom my boot time is a few minutes long now? Seems strange to me.
Anyways, any help/comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

HTC patched the exploit Firewater used, doesn't work anymore. Can try Sunshine S-OFF
[Android][HTC S-OFF] SunShine for modern HTC devices
It's $25 , though it works and even in the event that it "might" not work. Your device gets tested to make sure it'll work before you have to pay the money, so if it passes you can pay, if it won't succeed you won't need to pay $25 for something that won't work...
Ah fiddlesticks! No way around that, huh? Well I guess I can learn to live with Sense. Does anybody recommend any other roms that don't need s-off other than the Insertcoin one I'm running now? I can learn to live with it but it does take roughly 5 minutes to boot, which is kind of a pain. Just wondering. Thanks.

No problem Keep me posted on what you like or dislike. I've been running SkyDragon since I got my HTC and would like to try that since I am itching to flash something.

definitely will check it out once I get into the rom a bit.
One more quick, possibly stupid question (I'm sorry to be a pain). Granted, I understand that the sense overlay is meant to run the sense based software and was never designed for crossover development, but is there any way to bring over the duo camera software to the GPe rom? If not, it's no big deal. I was just curious. It's honestly the only thing I'd miss. The standard google cam software is alright, but I know the camera is meant to do certain things. Just wondering.

In not entirely certain about this but apparently since GPE was built specific for this device the GPE camera app supports the hardware of the camera including the duo. The difference is the camera effects which can be done post picture with the HTC software available from the play store
