[Q] Case for GS3 (good grips and not bulky)

Hi, I have tried the following cases. I find them to be either too bulky/ slippery/ no grips to it.
Spigen - Neo Hybrid
Seidio - Seidio Active
Ballistic - Ballistic Shell Gel
Casemate - Case Mate Pop Case
Can you guys please recommend me something else thanks.
PS: I don't fancy otterbox as its too bulky.

I have the seidio surface case...and I jus dropped it today from waste level on a concrete surface and let me tell you I was scared to look at my screen when I turned it over...cause the drop sounded nasty...I cursed in front of my 7 year old daughter...but to my astonishment the phone was fully intact and not a single mark on the phone...case took quite a beating though...
IMO...this is the best case and by far not as bulky as its bigger sibling the Active Case...so if you want little to no bulk and still offering great protection...I will stand by the Seidio Surface Case all the way...

+1 I recently got this case and completely love it. It feels great in the hand and doesnt add much bulk to the phone. Honestly, it makes the phone feel much sturdier.

I buy sell lots of phones and have owned several Otterboxes over the years. Truefully I've never been a big fan as they always seem to add way too much bulk and were not the best looking case(s). However, I actually lover this Commuter case for my HTC ONE. If feels so very strong without a great deal of bulk added. The power button is much easier to find/access than the other 2 cases I have tried. The volume buttons are great, probably more sensitive than no case at all. My case I got with a used phone purchase off CL and it's black. I like black, but with all the color choices available...I'm sure I could have found a better looking case(colorwise). But I LOVE the case and the phone. Best phone ever imo and the case is very close to perfect as well!

Black One with Punked Commuter

I had an Otter Box on my last phone and it saved it from utter destruction when it fell from my pocket while on my road bike(going 80kmph+). Only thing that had to go was the screen protector and the case was jacked but the HTC Desire HD was still MINT.. ALWAYS BUY AN OTTERBOX!!

I still find the exposure of the power button a bit annoying (Wish they covered the power buttong like the UAG case did). Despite this it's still a good case IMO from the experience of using my Galaxy S2 in a case of the same series.
Disclaimer: I just have the otterbox case without the device (yes the HTC one itself is yet to come!)

Damn now I regret buying the the glacial one haha! The green looks freaking awesome. Oh well the glacial one was the cheapest one so that's what I went for. Still looks awesome either way! Love this freaking case!

I'm looking for a case that costs ~10-~20 EUR (amazon.de), is good in drop protection (more specifically, the corners, the camera lens and the screen) and just how comfortable it is, would you recommend it and so on.
I also have seen zedomax's CruzerLite Nexus 5 drop test. Do the cases (Androidified A2 like in the video or Bugdroid Circuit) protect as well as in the video (the drop tests aren't fake, right?)?
How's the Spigen Slim Armor, too? I heard it protects well, but after seeing a G2 drop test, it seems to perform not really well in a frontal test. What do you think?
So, please suggest me some. But I NEED AND REQUIRE good drop protection (front and back) and not adding too much bulk making it uncomfortable to use. Of course, good a price too.

How do they do with drop protection?

I recommend cruzerlite TPU cases.

I haven't dropped my phone yet *knock on wood* but it believe its the most protective while still being slim. Has reinforced edges . dual layer and has a lip to lay on the screen. Also the camera is protected pretty well.

I'm using the rinke fusion crystal clear and while it adds more bulk than I personally like its not to bad. It survived a fall off the top of a 6ft ladder actual height was probably 7ft as I was standing on the top rung and dropped it from my pocket on to a wood floor, No damage what so ever. I'm on my second nexus already the first slid off my couch at about 1.5ft and completely shattered the screen.

I have the Neo Hybrid and it isn't nearly as good as a tough case or Seidio cases I have had. Not sure I would recommend it, nothing particularly wrong with it but it lacks the cushioning of a touch case, dilex, commuter, etc which in my experience is a major help in drops. It also lacks their better grip and feel in hand. Best thing that can be said for it is that it doesn't look cheap and it will keep the phone from getting scratched. I had a toughcase on my sgs 2, 3, and 4 and obviously between the phones over the course of years there were a number of drops but never a break. Out of those the otterbox boys claim there will be no commuter for the N5, casemate is still mum but does have one case for it coming soon and there may be hope for the tough case and seidio is just now getting there cases on the market. Myself I have a dilex coming Monday which should prove better than the Neo I have now and if Casemate gets the toughcase out I'll buy that in a heartbeat. Easily the best I have ever owned and I have been through a number of cases looking for a better mouse trap over the years. Otterbox quality seems to have gone down over the last few years and their commuter is bested by the tough case anyways making them a poor choice even if they did make one. Seidio I haven't had in a few years so for me the jury is out on them till I try the one I have coming now. Previous cases I had with them were good however.
None of these would help you though if you want screen protection. The only real way to do that is a pouch or a wallet style. Those have their own issues.. The pouch is great when the phone is in it but does nothing when its not and you tend to drop the phone when you're using it, not when its in its pouch in your pocket. Also its another thing in between you and answering a call. Wallets have the advantage of being on the phone when it falls but these can be among the thickest of the cases and some people hate having to fold the flap over to use the phone. I'm one of those, the protection is great but I find them too annoying in use. This is something you have to try for yourself to see where you stand.
In the end no case is perfect, each style has its compromise and you are going to have to choose which ones you want to make personally because you cant have it all in one case.

Alluminium seems not to protect enough IMHO...
p.s. I have already the original crystal case from 1+1 store but it's too slippery ( I'm thinking to use on it the sandpaper to make it less sleppery, what's your opinion? )

I recently got the Diztronic Ultra TPU case (cannot post links yet, but googling it will take you to their site right away), would you consider that a bumper case? Seems like it offers decent protection and the looks and build quality is pretty solid as well.

Seems good but I cant understand if it has the back or not.. I prefer not to have it because I like the matte back of my OPO

Those kind of bumpers don't exist for the OPO unfortunately. Evolutive Labs failed to kickstart one, and then there's the aluminum one...

why doesn't someone get a normal tpu case and use a hot copper wire to cut out the back? it'll basically be a bumper and it'll look pretty decent

People, don't go and buy cases and think that cutting out the back would make a bumper case, it does not. The case looses all rigidity and the middle section is all floppy. I did this on a galaxy nexus and lg g3 case, neither time did it work. A bumper case is engineered differently to be rigid all around. Don't waste money thinking cutting a case would work.
Just my 2 cents.

The two parts are made from two different parts so they can be taken apart if enough force is applied. We would not advise this as the polycarbonate back is there to protect the back of your handset.

The G3 case I used was basically the same, hard back and tpu bumper, was the same, floppy once removed. It really makes no sense destroying a perfectly good case.

Hey! I use TPU diztronic case ( the one with bumpers on corners )
It protected my device when it feel on corners .
Makes your phone a bit heavy and shabby too.
Back doesn't feel like the sandstone , but we have to compromise for protection.

it is unbelievable that the oneplus one has no accessories at all!
the diztronic case is very expansive.. as there are no alternatives.

I've got an incipio ngp case on the way in translucent black. Should be nicer then most of the amazon ones up to this point. Can take pics once I receive.

I wish more case manufacturers would cut theirs out like HTC with the Ice View did around the camera and flash/laser focus. Looks a lot cleaner and sleek.

Careful with those Cimo cases. I received 2 today and they cut out the top believing that there would be an IR blaster but the official Ice View case only has a cutout for the headphone jack. I will most likely have to contact them about it.

There are a few spigen ones on amazon that have the nicer cutouts on the rear. They aren't available for order yet, or even on the official spigen site. But they will be in the near future.

Seidio will be offering Cases by the end of the month. Per Customer Support.

I ordered one on ebay. I favor ebay for phone cases because the shipping is always free and it's still coming directly from Spigen. Just search HTC 10 and they should pop up.
