Help, no kernel phone may be bricked - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Someone help. I flashed a rom and it said the kernel failed to install, I didn't know it would be a problem and rebooted it. Now my phone won't boot at all into download mode, recovery, won't turn on at all.

What ROM was it.

Link to it or as close as possible. Never heard of it, so I'm going with a brick and need of jtag. But that's unknown til I see qhere the rom came from and what devise it was made for...
After fuether review it was for the i9305 s3, bricked device. Search the 20 threads already about this and jtag.

60ish $ and jtag is your option, like I said look it up via google or the many threads on the subject here. Future reference look for roms via it's "ROM name" (D2TMO) or hardware name (T999) never fail to install proper rom.

The Miui Rayglobe v6 is not for your device, it's a 9300 rom and your phone is now officially BRICKED
You need to send it to a shop which has JTAG and get it working. It cost between $30 to $60 bucks,
your best bet is to go to eBay and do a search for JTAG the prices there are way less than other places.
Good luck!

I think that ROM is for the international version of the phone. Probably going to need JTAG repair from mobiletechvideos.

Good for you, you have officially BRICKED your phone, that rom is for the 9300 phone not for our T999.
I think before you flash anything else you need to get yourself a pair of reading glasses so you can read
before you flash. LOL

Idk if it has been mentioned, but your phone is bricked. That ROM is for the international S3. You are going to need to use a JTAG service to get the phone fixed which will cost you any where from $30-$100 depending who you use and how fast you want it done.

Bricked (complicated)

My Galaxy s3 is now what appears to be a hard bricked phone. The only response I get is a red light when I plug it in and a bing when I plug it into the usb port. No recognition by the computer though.
This was caused by me trying to flash the kernel to a very common one (siyah) and after it completed successfully I did a reboot, now it won't turn on or go into CWM recovery or basic android recovery.
I've exhausted every possibility I can think of /googled to solve it such as.
1) Taking the battery out
2) Trying to make Odin recognize it
3) Trying to boot into the various recoveries
4) Trying many a different button combos
5) Leaving it to charge for a while
The only think I can think of that I haven't tried is a USB jig.
My question is, what now? Help me, please.
Well your first issue is that we don't have a siyah kernel for the i747. So, yeah.
You might need to try a jig. I if that doesn't work then you will need to send it off to get jtag fixed.

Since you flashed an i9300 kernel, likely with bootloaders, and it won't do anything you will need to send it off for JTAG repair.
JTag time. You've flashed a kernel not meant for our device.
Thanks guys, I figured that was probably my only option. And I feel really dumb now. I'm used to jailbreaking, rooting it seems, requires you to be much more vigilant.
Thanks again.

Youtube and research my friend. Nearly can fix any phone no matter how bad you mess it up. Very rare that a JTAG can't fix a phone.

You need an attitude check. This was posted in Q&A, he had a question and needs help. If this was posted in the wrong forum, I could MAYBE see this kind of attitude but not here. You were helpful in giving him a link to get his device repaired, but the rest of it was just uncalled for.

I did research and no one gave a straight answer anywhere. i googled countless places. a lot of them said to do these button combinations and none worked. some say the only way to do it is through a jig. as you say Jtag. i do everything the way i usually do it by reading the posts before flashing.. idk what went wrong here.

As far as I know, he is right about JTAG being your only repair option. This may sound like an obvious question, but I have seen this happen before. Are you sure you were downloading from the right forum? (i.e. not accidentally downloading a ROM meant for another carrier.)
I'm kind of curious how this happens. Never heard of bricking from simply flashing a rom.

If rom is for another carrier or the international version of the S3 (i believe the I9300) then it'll brick it quick.
I thought the i9300 is the sprint version. i had looked it up... but oh well. I did more research i missed one step which may have caused it, or my download corrupted. But my next option is to find someone with a Jtag in my area.

Use a jig. Will boot up into download mode. You need to use Odin and flash stock. Qbking video is really helpful. Good luck.

Yup you flashed the wrong ROM. I had this happen on my Evo 3D, I don't remember which ROM it was but someone had linked to it from the CDMA forum and I took their word for it being a CDMA ROM. It was GSM. Fortunately I was still able to load hboot and loaded clockwork mod via fast boot. I'm sure you've tried going into download mode or recovery a hundred times by now, but one hundred and one wouldn't hurt. Make sure you are pressing the right buttons in the right combination and letting go at the right time. Honestly I think the SIII is a pain to get into D/L or recovery mode. It always takes me a few tries. If you can do that, you won't need to JTAG it. Good luck!

Q&A is for questions
No one should be vilified for asking a question, in the proper place, after researching - and no one should be made to feel worse than they already do when they've got an expensive paperweight they're trying to resurrect. We were all new once. Have patience and teach - especially to those who really seek to learn from their mistakes.

Yea you did. This is the third post I have posted in. Foxhound is for i9300 devices. This ROM cannot be used on US/Canadian variants. The other two people I posted for also flashed and also hard bricked.
Your only bet is to contact your network provider and see if they will replace it or pay between 60-80 USD for a JTAG resurrection.

If you just got it, there's no harm in trying to get an exchange. Simply say you woke up and your device no longer boots. It has worked for me in the past, and, reportedly, one of the previous mentioned foxhound victims.
In the future make sure you stick with your devices codename and model number (d2att =ATT, d2tmo = Tmobile, d2spr = Sprint, d2vzw = Verizon). model is i747.
Galaxy S3 is a very touchy device and in my experience very easy to hard brick.
Good luck with your exchange!

Looking for a jig for i9300 in the Montreal Area

Hi,
I was testing a custom ROM and unfortunately, I bricked my i9300. No more power. dead.
I'm looking a jig in the montreal area; if anyone had one I could borrow please.
Thank you
You could always make one... They take like 15 minutes to put together with little to no tools required. Check the how to in the forum.
If you're lazy you can always buy one online. They are not too crazy expensive.

Samsung galaxy S3 hard brick

Can someone please explain why I bricked my galaxy s3 phone. I have a Samsung galaxy S3 sgh-t999. Phone had a 4.1.1 system and it was rooted. I installed MS Team HD 11.0 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886332 after installation was completed phone asked to reboot and never came back. Black screen and no buttons responding. Was that rom not for my phone? Also that Rom was in the phone memory not SD card.
That would be because you flashed a rom for the i9300 international model not for the t999. It is always important to read read read before diving into things. Sorry to hear your situation.

You can either pay to have it jtag or you can just call tmobile and tell them you don't know what happened. You gotta have insurance though. Don't worry about the no warranty fee cause they won't be able to tell anything about the phone in that condition because nothing works lol. ....reason I know is cause I did the same thing to my sprint s3.
