Samsung galaxy S3 hard brick - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

Can someone please explain why I bricked my galaxy s3 phone. I have a Samsung galaxy S3 sgh-t999. Phone had a 4.1.1 system and it was rooted. I installed MS Team HD 11.0 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886332 after installation was completed phone asked to reboot and never came back. Black screen and no buttons responding. Was that rom not for my phone? Also that Rom was in the phone memory not SD card.

That would be because you flashed a rom for the i9300 international model not for the t999. It is always important to read read read before diving into things. Sorry to hear your situation.

Look on the forum directory.
It reads "> Samsung Galaxy S III I9300, I9305 > Galaxy S III Android Development >"
from that we can assume that all posts made in this section are for international S3 devices.

Do you know where to repair your phone from the brick? I recently bricked my s3 flashing the t999v bootloader but luckily for me there's a guy here in Dallas, TX that repaired for $30 he has a listing in ebay

You can either pay to have it jtag or you can just call tmobile and tell them you don't know what happened. You gotta have insurance though. Don't worry about the no warranty fee cause they won't be able to tell anything about the phone in that condition because nothing works lol. ....reason I know is cause I did the same thing to my sprint s3.
tmobile s3 running wicked. I still use a t9 text app so excuse the errors

I had my phone hard bricked too, he fixed it for me and everything was great afterwards :]

As of right now, the roms for your S3 are not meant to be used on other S3 variants. Bricks might happens or a soft one might happen. Before flashing a Rom make sure you are in the right development section an you read the entire op, twice. Until other devs or experienced users find a way to make them cross compatible, please refrain from using other carriers S3 roms.

That's slick!:good:
hard brick - a pretty paperweight (tonight)
should have been more careful, soft bricked the phone, 2 times trying to change the dpi.
once trying to flash a rom - the rom flash, took it to QHSUSB_DLOAD mode, not impressed but i'll take this downtime as a time to relax.
Another way to avoid a brick; Don't use a mod, theme, tool or ROM until it's confirmed by multiple people in the community that it's working properly. Read the last 3-4 pages of a thread

I agree with you, I ended up with a soft brick stuck at the samsung glowing logo after trying to unroot because I got a crack the front plastic near the headphone jack. I managed to reset the flash counter and install the rom but odin failed at the end. Now I'm hesitant to flash another ROM. Anyone else here waiting for JellyBean Rom? Definitely take your time and always make sure your computer installs the drivers before doing anything! I got BB to exchange it for me since they couldn't get it to boot and the mystery crack wasn't my fault. I only had it for like 3 days IN A CASE TOO. Happy Flashing dudes.
I'm just glad i saw a forum for the gs3. I would've bricked my phone after i got it.
Another bricker my own fault went to unroot to take in for service and went and loaded a wrong .tar file of the stock system. Anyway...not looking for sympathy..just wanted to say thanks for the forum that gave me the tools to fix my mistake

Hi. Google checkfus. Download it and use it to pull official firmware from Samsung servers then use Odin to flash it to your phone.

There is nothing for this phone on checkfus webversion... yet. But yes OP, do download checkfus and check it often to see if anything pops up for you to use... Maybe there already is something available that I just couldn't see in the web version.
Thanks guys for the recommendations. I'll keep an eye out. Right now I have an $800 brick on my desk.

I got it from a reseller off Kijiji and not sure which bands are supported since there was no box. I know it sounds shady but it's not!!! I was using it on Bell for a whole day before this madness happened

Yea you did. This is the third post I have posted in. Foxhound is for i9300 devices. This ROM cannot be used on US/Canadian variants. The other two people I posted for also flashed and also hard bricked.
Your only bet is to contact your network provider and see if they will replace it or pay between 60-80 USD for a JTAG resurrection.

If you just got it, there's no harm in trying to get an exchange. Simply say you woke up and your device no longer boots. It has worked for me in the past, and, reportedly, one of the previous mentioned foxhound victims.
In the future make sure you stick with your devices codename and model number (d2att =ATT, d2tmo = Tmobile, d2spr = Sprint, d2vzw = Verizon). model is i747.
Galaxy S3 is a very touchy device and in my experience very easy to hard brick.
Good luck with your exchange!

60ish $ and jtag is your option, like I said look it up via google or the many threads on the subject here. Future reference look for roms via it's "ROM name" (D2TMO) or hardware name (T999) never fail to install proper rom.

The Miui Rayglobe v6 is not for your device, it's a 9300 rom and your phone is now officially BRICKED
You need to send it to a shop which has JTAG and get it working. It cost between $30 to $60 bucks,
your best bet is to go to eBay and do a search for JTAG the prices there are way less than other places.
Good luck!

I think before you flash anything else you need to get yourself a pair of reading glasses so you can read
before you flash. LOL
Idk if it has been mentioned, but your phone is bricked. That ROM is for the international S3. You are going to need to use a JTAG service to get the phone fixed which will cost you any where from $30-$100 depending who you use and how fast you want it done.
