Obviously it was not and now i've screwed the phone where you get the yellow triangle thiingy. I need the original rom as i have looked high and low and there is nothing out yet. Its the Wind version of the phone launching here on |Oct 30th.

I've tried everything but nothing seems to work..i.e. Samsung Kies, Odin..etc..

Hi. Google checkfus. Download it and use it to pull official firmware from Samsung servers then use Odin to flash it to your phone.

There is nothing for this phone on checkfus webversion... yet. But yes OP, do download checkfus and check it often to see if anything pops up for you to use... Maybe there already is something available that I just couldn't see in the web version.
Thanks guys for the recommendations. I'll keep an eye out. Right now I have an $800 brick on my desk.

I got it from a reseller off Kijiji and not sure which bands are supported since there was no box. I know it sounds shady but it's not!!! I was using it on Bell for a whole day before this madness happened

hmm I am not sure how to do that, if you can direct me to a tutorial I'd definitely do it.I am not sure if that can be done actually, since it's not rooted. Anyways, if I get time during the weekend I'll look it up and do it myself.
PS: I think we got it from the same seller lol
Sorry to hear that again. Were you able to access Bell's LTE and HSPA? Thanks, cause I'm on bell too!

Anyone!! Anything?!?!? I've googled the hell out of this and only thing is still this thread!!
AAGHHHH!H!H!H!H!H!!!!!!!
I was thinking of giving LG another shot, and picking up this phone. I am surprised that there is still no development for yet. I'm not to sure that I want to pick this up anymore if it is locked down and still has no one working on a solution.

Which variant you gonna look at? The ATT had a unlocked bootloader and a AOSP Rom for it. (Not officially out yet). There are pictures in the clockwork recovery thread

Wait what? Unlocked bootloader for AT&T version is available? Sorry, been out of the loop, this new excites me!
There has been significant progress on both the ATT and Sprint models, check the development threads in each of those respective sub-forums. Hopefully some of that will spill over into the international section here as well.
Not available. Not yet. But you can actually follow the development of it. And something might be happening tonight in the next 3-4 hours.

There is a lot of progress being made for the AT&T and Sprint variants but I asked on IRC a couple days ago if they would also be applicable to the international (the ones we got in Canada) versions and the answer isn't clear yet. Hopefully that is the case!

^^according to the team leader working on the Optimus G (thecubed), after they smooth everything out on the ATT and Sprint models, Canadian variants and Korean variants are next (in that order).

Yeah just finished reading the thread. Awesome! I'm going to hold out until the Rogers variant gets unlocked. Hopefully there will be a price drop too. Not that it is currently expensive. Looking forward to getting this phone for sure. I love my GNex, but the new nexus 4 just didn't tick my boxes the right way.
**Update**
I couldn't wait. I just ordered it Plus I got them to get it to me for $49 after a $50 MIR. Sounds like a fair price to me.

I was in the same boat. Though it looks more and more like there's just att and sprint development. Nothing at all for canadian version. And who knows if there will be any development. Ah well there's always a place to sell my phone and get an N4 if I get tired of it. Lol.
Sent from my LG-E971 using xda app-developers app
I am in the same boat (living in Canada), I want this phone too and the N4 didnt really do it for me besides the timely updates and being the first to get them. With the Optimus G being practically the same phone as the N4 I am very tempted to get this but without development for it, it is pretty much the only thing keeping me back from getting it.
I got the telus variant, and god this thing is blazing fast!
And, the bloatware from telus is realy kept to a minimum, only one link to download the app that recommends some apps. So, if you don't want any, you don't have any!
The interface is pretty much like the Samsung's one, but better. The additions of nice features like the menu on the drop down menu, the apps on the lock screen, things like that are pretty usefull. And, they put a backup utilities it there, nice touch!
the unlocked bootloader will bring most likely more fun and more open roms, but as of now, the stock rom is pretty good!
I am remaining hopeful that the development for this phone will come. The developer, or one of them, "thecubed" who put together the "FreeGee" exploit to unlock the bootloader has stated in his thread that the Canadian, and Korean variants will be next to get the treatment. In that order as well. Just a matter of time I think.

If you have the Telus version can you please check the ATT forum and thread about the bootloader unlock, they want someone to dump the Canadian ROM and send it to them so they can work on the unlock... instructions are in the thread and on IRC.

60ish $ and jtag is your option, like I said look it up via google or the many threads on the subject here. Future reference look for roms via it's "ROM name" (D2TMO) or hardware name (T999) never fail to install proper rom.

The Miui Rayglobe v6 is not for your device, it's a 9300 rom and your phone is now officially BRICKED
You need to send it to a shop which has JTAG and get it working. It cost between $30 to $60 bucks,
your best bet is to go to eBay and do a search for JTAG the prices there are way less than other places.
Good luck!

Good for you, you have officially BRICKED your phone, that rom is for the 9300 phone not for our T999.
I think before you flash anything else you need to get yourself a pair of reading glasses so you can read
before you flash. LOL
Idk if it has been mentioned, but your phone is bricked. That ROM is for the international S3. You are going to need to use a JTAG service to get the phone fixed which will cost you any where from $30-$100 depending who you use and how fast you want it done.

Can someone please explain why I bricked my galaxy s3 phone. I have a Samsung galaxy S3 sgh-t999. Phone had a 4.1.1 system and it was rooted. I installed MS Team HD 11.0 from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886332 after installation was completed phone asked to reboot and never came back. Black screen and no buttons responding. Was that rom not for my phone? Also that Rom was in the phone memory not SD card.
That would be because you flashed a rom for the i9300 international model not for the t999. It is always important to read read read before diving into things. Sorry to hear your situation.
