Me first!
Just kidding I'm on Verizon
Immediate fail when flashing with TWRP, latest version. No information given
Restoring my nandroid now. Maybe a problem with device identification in the installer script? BTW, I am on att and have the d2att version of TWRP 2.5.0.0 installed
I don't think its gonna work...
I am uploading a new one right now. Just looked at the file sizes and they are way off. Old one 1.2 gigs the new one 883 MB. So it should be up in about 25 minutes or so. Sorry but drop box is slower than crap
no problem...although I probably won't be able to help out until later this evening. I'm sure someone else will step up though...
For what its worth, I looked at the original zip and everything was under a folder "port" instead of being the root of the zip...just a heads up.

Alright. Thanks. We are really anxious to get this ROM out to our GSM friends. Just make sure that you do a nandroid because I have no clue whether or not it boots. As of right now it only has the latest KT kernel just to see if the ROM boots
No dice, same as before. Immediate fail to flash with no information given. I'm restoring my nandroid now.
Edit:
I'm an idiot. I tried to flash the one you posted last night. I guess I didn't delete it. As soon as the nandroid process is done, I'll figure out where this got downloaded to (wasn't in my Downloads folder) and try it again.

Koush twittered that we had a treat coming our way last night. I downloaded the latest update to Clockwork Mod and noticed that when we select a recovery for the Epic it now asks if you have manually installed a version of Recovery and if so it asks what version. Basically, I want to know what this does for us. I know previously if you tried to install a rom from the Rom Manager, it would fail do it automatically and you would have to manually do everything from the recovery. Does this change make the Rom flashing process automated?
v4.0.0.8 is the version I'm talking about.
Well it obviously doesn't get people to post in the right section...

You obviously like to pick and choose the rules you follow. Isn't "no flaming" part of the guidelines to posting?
But I'm sure you don't need to read the rules atop that high horse of yours.
Last time I checked stating an observation wasn't flaming.
In fact you're actually getting closer to flaming by trying to directly insult me if I want to be pedantic. But I'm not going to argue with somebody on the internet.
Hopefully we can get an official recovery for the epic. I love my wife's recovery amon ra. I wish we could get that.

if my ass was yo ass id reflash a kernel with the correct cwm recovery if you were quick to jump the gun on that rom manger recovery flash
edit: dam my ass is slow tonight
You mean, cwm, not cm7. That means Koush just added cwm app support for the et4g.
hmm
Last time i saw Kosh update this right before the release of CM7 for ATT, that why i am asking if anyone knew anything

Dude, how dare he post in the wrong forum!?!?!?
That's the worst thing a person can do!!!!1111
I know
Its a mortal sin ! How dare you ! I dare because i will be building a rom based on it , i will add language support to it and make it all pretty I am excited for even the possibility cause i am tierd of this stock crap and battery drain **** !
yes i understand but it still is not DEVELOPEMENT ... It has nothing to do with it at all ....There are at least one or two posted everyday about cm7 and it still has nothing to do with Dev ....come on you should know better .... I bet you would not do this if they handed out week bans for it . Dont just do stupid stuff . If you were following koush already said he was not going to dev the rom and codeworkx said koush would probably pass the phone to unhelpful on teamhacksung . This belongs in GENERAL

I wouldn't try.
I attempted two days ago and it failed via ROM Manager.
Then I tried using cwm to flash it, and I got a similar failure message. Could just have been me, but I doubt it.

It easy and less time consuming to get a logcat using your device instead of asking here. Am I right? I don't think average people are tend to flash something that doesn't work just to help you out. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, just trying to understand why don't you use your phone to get a logcat.
I've could have helped you but just now i've made a backup of my stock rom (I was out of a one v for a month from the moment I returned my previous devices) but I know someone just did it for you.
Now to be on topic, project butter will be possible when the sources will be out? I'm thinking that adreno 205 is capable of running things at 60 fps without a hunch, so it will be possible also for our device, right?

htc-phones said:
i don't use my device for log cat because im currently porting other roms including paranoid android and experia rom so im using my device constantly so have no time to make log cat for the rom. that's why i need everyone's help.

Flashed this on my sprint Epic - worked fine. Seeing very little difference from sprint roms:
"WiFi Hotspot" App
"My Account" App? or probably web link
USB Tether removed from settings
Boot animation
Still has PRL Update option which doesn't seem to work (could be because I haven't associated to the VM network at this point but I think other VM phones remove this option)
Looks like Samsung should be able to push the VM ROM's out with about 5min's of actual labor lol.

Thanks for this. However, I've already found this repository and I get an md5 hash error when I try to run the stock full restore ODIN exe (SPH-D710VMUB_FJ12_CL1135978_Stock_Restore.exe). I've already tried redownloading a couple times and I get the same error. I even tried an md5 checker and it matched the md5 perfectly. I tried the other exe's (rooted, no data restore, etc.) and those all work fine.
The problem I'm having is, I want to revert the phone back to fresh-out-the-box stock because I'm trying to activate the phone with virgin mobile. Usually, there's an "activate" app (self-service assistant app) but none of the exe's I've tried restores that app. I apologize if this is off-topic. I can start a new thread for this issue if that is more appropriate. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
Ah, gotcha.

I have an older S2/Epic 4G. Haven't been able to find any updates from Virgin for it. Can somebody explain to me what the FJ12 update is? I'm currently running the stock GB28 from Virgin Mobile and contemplating rooting it and upgrading to CM11. Anybody know if there's any updates from Virgin Mobile first before I do this? Any help greatly appreciated.
No don't think so,this phone is officially dead. No updates.

i havent really looked into whether or not Root is available for E.
Is there a difference?
Not as is but if you use Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper on D and update to E, root is maintained.

I may lookinto that a little later.
I just ran into a BIG issue with this ROM. It flashes fine but not changes are made :S ill be sure to fix it and have it uploaded ASAP
Care to share which bloatware apps have been weeded out?
Thank you for your efforts! Will be following..
I'm going up north to blue mountain for new years. Thought I could have this uploaded before I left but these issues have stopped me from releasing it. I should have it once I'm back home. Sorry for the wait guys. I know how it feels.
Im hoping to see something like this for the E973 soon. Really, if you changed the modem to our LTE frequencies, we should be good.
Just a quick update. I have been having issues with pulling the boot.img for the E971. Seeing how no one has really been able to pull it, i think after 3 days i finally got it
now to package and sign and then test but that will be after work tommorow. Its 4 am, time to get 6 hours of sleep!
Glad to see something is coming for the e971. I was just about to flash The Base rom for the e970 and cross my fingers it worked.

i had initially did just that...but nothing took effect when you flashed the ROM and went through Aroma. Plus, if you wiped Cach and w.e options it gives you, the device doesnt boot :/
I have gotten my Rom to flash with no errors in CWM but it stays in a bootloop :/
Took me 3 days to figure out how to flash this damn thing.
If you haven't noticed, AT&T version has some custom ROMs going on for their Optimus G. Maybe you can ask them for help, or take apart their ROMs and compare or something? I dunno.. Not good with development but I'd like to help in the best way I can.

I did exactly just that, but non of their ROM's flash on our devices. Plus, Their mount pointers for system, boot, etc..are totally different. I think i just pulled the wrong boot.img. Now that i have the updater script working just fine and know the pointers ill pull the boot.img from there and that should fix it.
