I know this is in the wrong place please don't be like Q&A I know that k this is the only place I know where I can get a fast response so I have superuser permissions on this Rom I just dl and it f****** don't work or idk how to use that one and I'm trying to get superuser cuz I know how to use it and it won't let me install it please help

Oh, and I'd say that this belongs in Q&A, except there is not a question (let alone a question mark).
FWIW, Superuser usually only asks for permission when an app that needs it is opened.

Use the search button on the forum to find what you need!
Uninstall whatever you dont want from settings, applications, manage apps, go to all tab and look for it. If its not there use titanium backup.

While I understand that this is not the appropriate place to post (I should be posting in the Q&A forum) I have an urgent need and was hoping that you might be able to overlook this small infraction to provide me with some much needed assistance.
I'm afraid I'm a bit of a "silly billy" and I've downloaded a rooted ROM which should have Superuser Permissions installed. However, upon further investigation, I'm unable to find the super user application and I cannot install applications that require root access.
Would it be possible for one of you kind experts out there to provide me with the help, direction and guidance that I need?

Yo dawg you needz to do a wipe in da recovery n then reinstallz the hole rom. I bets fo' sho' that u didn't do a full wipe last timez n now u is in trouble... laterz.
Translation:
Snowboardkid, it sounds like maybe you didn't do a full wipe when you installed the ROM from recovery. Download a different ROM and copy it to the SD card (I recommend Sprint Lover's ROM for stock look and feel) then reboot into recovery. From there wipe data/apps, wipe cache, wipe dalvik and wipe batter stats. Then flash the file from the SD card. Good luck.

Is ClockworkMod recovery Working for the Newer EVO 4G's??

Does anyone know if ClockworkMod recovery 3.0.0.0 now works for the newer EVo 4G with the 2.10 hboot?? I installed it with ROM Manager, flashed the SBC kernel and everything seems to work OK.

Learn some command prompt lines and root it today.

It may be working...idk...The only way to test is install in and see if you can install a rom.

Yes, it does. It's still considered beta, but it works, as it did for me.

It didn't work for me. I had to downgrade to 2.5.1.2.
It tried to backup my ROM, but when it tried to go into recovery, it just brought me to the main HBOOT screen, wouldn't go into recovery at all.

Yea me too. I'm stuck. I'm trying boot into recovery but can't. And now I don't know how to get back.

Same here. I'd love to have CWM Recovery and ROM Manager combo. That would be awesome. I'm also waiting for the removal of the super-secure No, No, No, No, Yes, No, No confirmation screens.
I'm on an "old" 003 EVO by the way.

Mine took the 3.0 but it seems slower to boot into recovery now. not sure what version evo mine is.

Edit: When I try and flash something it aborts... How do you go back to the older recovery??

How do you get back to 2.5.1.2??

If you use ROM Manager, you can 'Flash Alternate Recovery' to go back to Amon Ra 1.8.

Sorry, I misread your message. There is an item at the bottom of ROM Manager that will allow you to pick Experimental/Older Versions of ClockworkMod.

hmmmm.im running Vaelpak 3.0.1 with Netarchy 4.3.2 kernel and everything is fine. You might want to join his forum at Vaelek.com and see if you can figure out your issue.

First of all, if you rooted your phone(seeing as you have vaelpak i assume you did) how could you not pick up a few things along the way??
Secondly, there are literally hundreds of stickies, posts and other forms of information on XDA. i know, sometimes it's faster to ask a question, but this question is something that REALLY should be researched first.

Dude go to the market and download wimax checker and make sure you have your rsa keys still and you didnt bork them some how. Also try out myns rls 5 its sick and you can do so many different mods to it.

Ok I downloaded the wiimax checker and it said I still have my rsa keys ...but still no 4g

if you have the keys then your fine. download clockwork app from appmarket and then have it install alternate ra recovery then boot to bootloader (vol down+power) and do nandroid backup and make sure you check the wimax box. now your keys are backed up. then try going to an earlier nandroid backup assuming you made one and see if 4g works. if its still not working use the search function for the fix your wimax thread and follow the directions there

Did you root the phone yourself or did some one else do it for you? I'm only asking because if you did it yourself using one of the many guides found all over the internet or youtube, you should know the answers to most of these questions already. I am by no means and expert but I did root it myself last Thursday and have loaded a couple different roms and kernels. My advise to you is read, read, read. If you're still not sure, read again. Its really not tjat hard. Good luck with your 4G though...

BigPapaBang well said. I bought my Evo back in November, but I didn't root the thing until a couple of weeks ago. I wanted to make sure I understood enough to do things right. Even now I still tread carefully. I decide on what I want to do, read and read some more, and then formulate a plan on how I'm going to proceed.
My advice to the OP, please stop and read some more.

First, make a nandroid backup. Then, back-up all your apps/data using titanium backup and just wipe everything (data, cache, etc..) and reflash the rom. if 4g works, restore all your apps and data and you should be good to go. if not, then try flashing another rom. i'd recommend mikfroyo, fresh, or myns if you want a sense rom, and cyanogen 7 wimax if you want an AOSP rom. if your 4g STILL isn't working after that, then make sure your area actually has 4g coverage (use a friends phone or something, just because the sprint site says your city has 4g doesn't mean the area you're in definitely has it). if that doesn't work, then you have a problem.

Download wimax checker from the market. Its a free app and it will check and see if your wimax keys are still intact.

I ran across this problem with one of my tabs, but not both.
If I accessed CWM using the power and Vol+ key CWM would boot, but fail at flashing.
Go to advanced, reboot recovery
Then try to flash the kernal, then rom.
Im about to post the link to the "package" that has the zimage so people can flash the kernal via heimdall.

Alright, If rebooting recovery doesnt work install the kernal via CWM, than reboot into recovery again, although this time its with Koush's kernal. I was than able to flash the rom!

So I applied the .so file from the voodoo kernal thread, and rotation works on this ROM. It's also pairing with my bluetooth keyboard folio, so that's win. I pink puffy heart the browser, too. It's fun.

OK, first off.....NOT MY PORT.
But I did stay at a holiday in last night.
This is a cdma cm7 gingerbread port, in a way its kinda a hybrid build. I myself am working on stripping out all the cm7 stuff, fixing camera, apps, weird touchscreen bugs, etc.
I'm kinda shooting for an aosp-ish build, however, I am waiting on permission from original developer to publish any changes I make.
3g and wifi do work.

if my ass was yo ass id reflash a kernel with the correct cwm recovery if you were quick to jump the gun on that rom manger recovery flash

Tried to flash a rom and it gave an error about spaces in the name.

I flashed it via the app, selected "reboot recovery " and had no recovery lol. I had to Odin a kernel to boot back into rom.

I wouldn't try.
I attempted two days ago and it failed via ROM Manager.
Then I tried using cwm to flash it, and I got a similar failure message. Could just have been me, but I doubt it.
