i have unlcoked my bootloader but how do i flash a custom kernal ?????
I recommend installing DooMKernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176502
There's a guide there how to do it
What's currently the best combination, stable, fast, no bugs?
And is there a good bug free ics rom out there? I'd like to give it a try.
Thanks in advance
I unlocked bootloader today, and I'm on .58 fw version, 2.3.4
I have: Stock Rom 2.3.4 + DoomLoRD's Kernel.
Full touchpad support and fast without bloatware.

Any idea what changes were from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4?
Advanced Stock and Darkforest ICS.
Unless you want to game correctly/heavily.
Then id suggest staying where you are.

That's basically my predicament. I really enjoyed ICS and pax's modified kernel, but you can't play PSXperia games on ICS. Back to stock ROM I went...
on my opinion , use 2.3.4 + sony's default kernel + some tweaks
as i experienced (( i've checked all kernels )) , all kernels have some bugs , just sony'y default kernel is #1 .
but you can try , if you want

Here you go.
And for best ROMs, I prefer CM9 by FXP. Touchpads work like they should (at least in Minecraft).

I have se stock rom 2.3.4 all kernel have bug

I'm happy using doom kernel v14 with the joka wild v3. Only problem is the battery drain. Does that rom have any bug or battery drain?

Search around the development forum, I think there's a tread with the links for all versions of stock ftfs

I second this.
I use JokaWild v2.5 w/ v13 Doomkernel. It is super fast.
Right so I have a Xperia Play GSM (R800i) with simlock (T-Mobile) and the build number is 4.0.2.A.0.42 and i`m wondering what I can do with it.
I have already rooted it with CWM so what else can I do with it? I would like to install CyanogenMod 7 but I know I can`t as I can`t unlock the bootloader
So what can I do?

you can flash Rom's based on Stock
I recomend this:
Gin2Ics - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1631144
TrueAncestor - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1595058
Xperia NXT - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649368
Thanks for the info but what one is best for using the phone as only a Gaming Machine? I`m not planning on using the phone to make calls just to play Emulators on.
Also whats the best Kernel and whats the best way to flash the Kernel?
Try gamebread i believe it has all the emulators already great idea

I was rooting my arc without unlock bootloader, Can I install custom ROM if my arc ICS rooted only ( no unlock bootloader) ?
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
There are a few ROMs that work only with CWM and stock Kernel, but most need unlocked bootloader.
You can flash Stock-based ROMs with a locked bootloader.
Swyped from my SE Xperia arc (LT15i) using Tapatalk 2
Try with Mooded 90.1 or JJ's Hybrid Rom, are best of BL blocked
JJ hybrid is really nice

I don't overclock my arc because I'm afraid that will be brick and anyone else although I flash custom ROM without unlock bootloader ?

I have a similar question. I was able to install CMW recovery into my locked bootloader Arc S.
Does this means I can install custom roms using it? Or to flash custom roms I still need the unlocked bootloader?
Thanks.
Yes scandals if u installed cwm u can install few roms. You can install arconium, all versions of mooded,90.1 works very well, arconiu muiu,jj hybrid rom those are the ones i tested and i can verefy that they are working on a phone with locked bootloader.Make sure you follow the instructions or u will screw your phone and u will have to flash the original ICS rom
What good ROMs I can install on my Xperia Arc LT15i if I have locked bootloader ?
My suggestion- Sparta Charge.
Other good ROMs for locked BL - Jelly Sandwich, Ultimate HD, Pureness, JJ Hybrid, Omega [ICS]
If you like heavy games try Gingerbread ROM X-Gamer.
Hi,
You can install Ultimate HD v2.0 by Jader :good: you must specify in AROMA if locked or unlocked bootloader

Yeah he mustnt its just for CWM so rom should work fine even on arc... Previous version was to big so i stripped and now it should work on arc as well as ray neo etc with just 300MB /system, but this Selection is for CWM, via xParts
