I don't think there's a way around that. But if there is that would be good to know.

Why don't you use the normal Netflix app? From what I understand, this is only an issue with the 'Instant' service /app, and it requires unrooting every time you want to use it. I can tell you that I use the normal Netflix app, rooted, with no problems.

kinda odd to ask. but is there a virus protection apk that can be used with rooted phones that wont freak out and say "hey dumbass your rooted everything is a damn virus"
I use Lookout just fine and it never says anything is malicious. What is it that your phone thinks is a virus? Being rooted does not make a virus protection program think you're infected. You're just turning the protection of not being able to modify your phone off for personal use.
well ive tried a couple. but i did avg. that found like 300. even after a fresh install.
Why would one need a virus program on a phone? Lol are you downloading porn torrents from your phone. Those virus apps are a joke. Can you explain to me why I would need one? I'm not being a smart ass I really want to know why. Seriously.

Mobile lookout is one that, to my surprise, actually works. It blocks the rage exploit which is what those malware apps were reported to use. It also blocks attempts to root since the same thing is used for that.

I believe there is an app for that ... something about hiding root ... don't know what it is, but I'm pretty sure it's out there somwhere.

Just unroot your phone. Shouldn't be that hard. On CM9 u can simply do it in your settings.

Hi guys, I just purchased the game on the Market for $.99 but now I have the original NFS MW icon that came with the phone and the new one I downloaded. Does anyone know which apk and folder I need to delete to get rid of the one that comes with the phone? Thanks
Ok guys, I figured it out,
I just searched my phone for 'nfs" and the ones that end with embed I deleted. Then I restarted and now I only see 1 icon for the game I actually purchased.
Can you explain a but more?

i'd use a file explorer to search for "nfs." the one i used was solid explorer. when the search shows, you'll see some of the nfs files that end in embed or something like that. just delete all of them and restart.
ps - the demo came with the phone not the full version

The one that comes with the phone is only 4 or so levels .
I noticed I had two icons too after reading this post so I uninstalled NFS that came with the phone using titanium backup. Worked like a charm

Sorry for an offtopic post but I have a question
For those that have played MULTIPLAYER, will it show me and my friend/opponent on the SAME track at the same time? Because I don't want multiplayer to be like this: i race the track and get a certain time, and my friend races on his own and gets a time limit and the lower time wins. In other words, will we be visible on the race track and able to hit each other?
If you're confused just let me know and i'll try to explain it better. Thanks in advance for any helpful replies
P.S. I didn't want to start an entire thread for this so I just asked the question here

I came to the forum last night to look around. .. And Google Chrome kicked me out screaming about malware....
This is the first time it happened last night. ...
Any one else ever get this?
I was on my desktop pc about 130 am or so..
Yep got the same message last night, I ran a scan last night after logging off, nothing found though.
Hmmmm. I wonder if they added an upgrade to the servers or if it had bad advertising on the site

More than likely just a bad ad, this happens to me occasionally from time to time on other forums as well and that's always been the case.
Happened to me as well.. Something going on within this xda site off internet browsers..chrome kicked me out saying malware alert..from site....
I had to go into settings and advance settings..and click off enable malware phishing setting ..which ibdint want to leave off.. What's going on with xda now?
Me too. I got so pissed I deleted Google chrome .I was in the middle of several things. And all is well now. I'm not going to fool with chrome anymore any way its too heavy to me .

Actually their anti piracy replies were quite on point. How would you feel if you were the developer of the app and everybody just stole it from you instead of paying for your hard work? Bottom line piracy is WRONG.

the rules aren't the problem....first the suggestion to actually go pirate an app (WTF are you thinking even saying that on xda)
then the arguing about "can't afford to pay" "visa card" etc etc....it applies to everyone at the end of the day not just people arguing the right point...but also the person suggesting that idea out loud over the forum

Peeps want to put their 2 feet in, the OP has the answer now job done, every bodies circumstances are different, mentioning how easy it is to get a gift card, top up credit card or whatever is relevant only to the person that suggests it.
Some countries don't accept payment, some won't allow you to buy, and for the record....I pay my way, but if I never had any money and need something, I'll blatantly take it. Don't have a problem mentioning that, but apps are 2 a penny, if there is a free alternative get one with ads.

Yes, I was referring to the fact that the phone did not have to be connected via WiFi for it to work.
