I believe there is an app for that ... something about hiding root ... don't know what it is, but I'm pretty sure it's out there somwhere.

Super su
Temp. Unroot ..

The exact same issue was posted a few hours ago about 8 post down..."Time Warner Won't accept Rooted devices."

Just unroot your phone. Shouldn't be that hard. On CM9 u can simply do it in your settings.

Parents got me a kindle fire...should i open it now or wait until christmas?

So yeah, they got me a kindle fire and said i could have it now, but i figured it's suck to not get anything else besides a Touchpad Should I open it and start rooting or what?

I would take it back and buy a refurb touch pad for $99

I want one.
Rooted, it should make a great tablet.

I'm praying that they'll get ICS working on it by christmas. They're already about 3/4 of the way there, so yay!
Return it and get a Nook Tablet.
Then get a bag of popcorn and a pop and watch the deving that goes on with it. Also hope you don't have seizures from so much flashing.

Ignore the people telling you to return it, the fire is an amazing little tablet. And seriously, be grateful you have someone in your life willing to spend $200 on you, that is a lot of money and you are very lucky. And definitely open it, are you crazy lol.

I know...I'm extremely grateful that I have parents willing/able to spend that kind of money on me.
And so I heard, It'll be even more amazing with vanilla or ICS. It would be so sexy with ICS.

What are you gonna do with your next phone? Transfer over all your contacts? LOL.
And then rinse and repeat.
Seriously, what more do you need/want? T989 is super fast, super good GPU, strong battery, dual core GPS, one of the few devices with SAMOLED+, better than the nexus in nearly every way except screen res (and the GNex takes a performance hit because of that).
Ok good luck whatever you decide
Download a new game. I suggest cross fingers.

This is it in a nutshell. Did media content providers not learn ANYTHING from Steve Jobs? Make digital media easy to obtain, and people will pay for it. Make it difficult, and people will obtain it via "other" means. This decision is short-sighted and ignorant in my book.

The xda app (newest version) is messed up it won't allow screens to be posted you are not the only one that has had the issue since I've had it as well.

Most of these apps are that way to get accepted they have to try to get a handle on piracy ,that Is the same with renting movies on play market...non root phones only
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-6
They got the app working in the Galaxy Nexus forum...Don't see why it wouldn't work for other devices. Also, I think you must be on 4.0 to stream Live TV.

Samsung Kies is a life saver!

I had a friend that was in a car accident and broke his screen on his T-Mobile Galaxy S II that wanted to save his data before sending it back when he received the replacement. I had no idea that Kies had the ability to backup/restore until today. I was trying to use adb to just pull the data but the device was not rooted and debugging was not enabled.
Then before i gave up i just opened Kies as a last resort method thinking to myself "Hmm... Samsung probably has something for this"
I was able to successfully backup from the one with the broken screen and restore to the replacement in about 20 minutes... Gave him the new phone and everything was all there as if nothing happened, contacts, messages, call logs, settings, pictures, music, videos, etc
I just wanted to share my experience with anyone who did not know about this feature from the Samsung Kies software. Is there anything else that you can do?
What do you use Kies for? Share your experience...

Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Yeah, I would normally use other methods of data extraction like adb but like I said the screen was broken. But if your not rooted and you need to get your data this is something that works.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Good tip, I'll have to remember that if anyone comes in my store with similar needs.
See... This is why I thought it would be a good idea to start this thread. I'm glad to see that at least one other person saw this to be useful. Heck, even if only 1 sprint technician does this when customers are replacing phones it will help many customers in the long run.
Shameless bump for the guy with a broken screen with no root.

Why don't you use the normal Netflix app? From what I understand, this is only an issue with the 'Instant' service /app, and it requires unrooting every time you want to use it. I can tell you that I use the normal Netflix app, rooted, with no problems.
