Alwaaaays check uf everything is working before putting the phone back together.... if it's not the ribbon cable than it must be a faulty digitizer. Good luck

might want to get someone else to confirm with me before you go and replace it. Im not 100% if its the digitizer or not
oh okay, will do........
if you look at the bottom under my dock icons it started doing thus a couple days ago. Not sure if my digitizer is going but if i reboot it goes away.

that looks to be a row of funky lookin pixels, which would be the screen, not the digitizer... the digitizer just registers touch input and does not actually display anything, it just is an overlay over the screen.... as to how to troubleshoot the problem I would grab LCD test from the market and go from there

Playing Sherlock Holmes here... but of it was a problem with the physical screen, I'd imagine it wouldn't show in a screen shot, which implies its something the app can actually capture. I'd try a different rom and see how it goes.
Just an idea

Dude crazy good logic, I was thinking he had a row of stuck pixels or something but you're 100% right, that'd not show up at all in the screencap, I also didn't notice it went away on reboot, I'm thinking that was an edit of the op

Does anyone know how (if possible) to access the resolution data within our phones and if it's possible to permanently change those data values? The current work around that I have to use it on a daily basis is the MIUI camera apk which lets you choose your resolution, but it only holds within the scope of that app. When using other apps, such as SnapChat, it reverts back to the default which doesn't function properly.
Any ideas?
You can't necessarily boost resolution by changing values. It comes down to a hardware limitation. If its only a 1.3MP resolution, then that's all you have to work with.

Good news is that I'm actually trying to lower it. Would that be possible?

I'm not sure, it may already be too low a resolution to decrease anymore.

Thanks for the input, hopefully that's not the case.
Anyone else have any idea?

You can try a third party app like Camera360 Pro, but it will do so in software, which sucks

Well I already have the MIUI camera for everyday use. I'm trying to figure out a way to see if I can permanently change the resolution so that it holds for other apps such as Snapchat.
Bump
What you can do to make it work for the whole OS is lowering/raising the dpi, try looking up apps in the Play Store that let you change it, or apps here on XDA
This would only be for the phone itself though, not any pictures you take

Cool thanks, I'll give that a shot when I have some down time at work and report back.
Lowering the DPI had positive and negative results.
Positive: everything looked a lot crisper, giving it the appearance of having a higher aspect ratio
Negative: not everything flowed properly with the lower DPI and the camera issue within Snapchat was still prevalent
I'll switch back to the default just to make sure everything is functioning properly, but thanks for the help!
For the record, I read this, and used ES File Explorer to make the changes.
EDIT: I'm going to see if there's a camera setting in the build.prop file mentioned in that article that could help for just the camera.

Just drop your phone on the ground face-down, that'll help.

i tend to argue against your advice. that's just absurd!
however.... a pair of vise-grips would work. just pinch it smaller! squeeze it on top and bottom and you'll get a panorama effect!

How many turns with the vise-grips do you think would do the trick?
Hello XDAers,
Currently, I have an issue with the headset jack. When you plug any headset to it, when it gets tilted slightly to the right, only one side works. I've tried multiple headsets with the same issue.
My question is:
- is there any way to manually fix it? (Parts, DIY, etc.)
- would warranty cover this?
- has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks!

Would you be able to post a pic? Like is it noticeably tilting to the right if you look at it?

The tilt is unnoticeable. Though I will post pics later when I get home.

sounds like a pretty simple hardware issue. Warrenty should cover it as long as it wasn't damaged from dropping/pulling the headphone jack out funny
So, I don't know what it is, The touchscreen works, and so does the actual screen itself, but everything is discolored. Does anyone know why or what I need to buy to fix this?
so i can't post a video due to xda forums but i have a video on youtube to show, so if you want to see my problem please pm me.
*edit*so when i turn down the brightness to the bottom it almost looks fine, but when i pull it back up in brightness, it becomes a mess.
i am really unsure if this is a hour job or a replacement.
Im going to assume you mean it looks washed out? Try getting a gamma adjusting app
