I cant get it to change my desnsity permanently. I checked the box saying "save density as system density" with a setting of 200 and it wont ever hold at 200 through a reboot. What can i do to fix this?
Part of the problem may be that the ET4G doesn't use an LCD display.

That is definately not a part of the problem. I used the program but I have never tried to make it stick on reboot.
Thanks for the input genta. Hope some one with the answer stumbles through this thread!
What specific app are you using? I use LCD Resolution from the market, and setting it to "always set on boot" definitely works for me on every rom I've tried so far.
Did you check in settings the save as system density?

I know you clicked it. I ment was was it still checked after you reboot to make sure it was still checked? Should have explained better. Could you use the widget to apply the density? You just click the widget and it sets your saved density? Better than having to go into it I guess.

That's good to know that the other works like intended. Myself, I have always been nervous about having it set on boot incase something wonky is going on. Did you happen to let the dev know about the issue with this device.

There are ALOT of forums discussing this issue, when you hang up do not hit the home button or back, let the phone return to the home screen on its own and this is the work around for this particular issue...

I second this, it worked for me.
Sometimes when i lock the screen to my phone the screen does not light up, the capacitive keys at the bottom light up but the screen does not. I am rooted on a stable cm10 build and have tried other ROMs also. Could not find anyone else with this issue. Thanks. Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app

pretty much SOD > sleep of death. Toggling the power button can fix it. Generally a rough app force closing or bad sleep off settings. o=

Haha! that's what everyone said. Even the Sprint guys who fixed it were shocked..
Mine is not quite like that, my screen still works fine but if I lock my phone repeatedly it will eventually cycle to this odd issue to where they white keys light up but the screen does not. Once the issue tosses then I can hit the lock key again and the screen is fine..

Alwaaaays check uf everything is working before putting the phone back together.... if it's not the ribbon cable than it must be a faulty digitizer. Good luck

Hi, im on wicked rom with the native call recording option. Anytime im on call, screen closes and turns black. I can not see anything unless I hit the power button which turns screen back on. The screen use to open as soon as I took my phone from my cheek. Is this auto screen time out how its supposed to be or is there an issue?

Are you using a case? Specifically an OtterBox, by chance? It's relevant.

Hah, I had put mine on within minutes of buying the phone. Little did I know it was screwing with the proximity sensor. I just thought that, for some reason, the S4's proximity sensor was supposed to turn the screen off until you hit the power button again during a call. But I read a thread where someone was complaining about the same thing and the recommendation was to take the case off and color the edge of the case around where the speaker, front camera, etc with a silver sharpie. It worked... All I'm saying, if OP has a case, try taking it off and see if the phone functions correctly. If it does, it's the case and can be fixed with a silver sharpie. If not, there's something else going on.

It's just the dialer that I have open. I do have a case (neo-hybrid spigen), but after I took it off the same thing happens. As soon as I call, the screen turns black and I need the power button to turn it on. I even turned off the smart stay TW feature, but it still does the same thing.

Download an app called "Proximity Sensor Finder" That might at least tell you if the sensor is just not registering the fact that it's being uncovered.

Unfortunately the screen protector was not the problem either....Could it just be the Wicked rom? Does anyone else have this issue? Could it also be the modified secphone.apk I have for the call recording?

Easy enough to rule out; try using a stock version of secphone.apk and see if the problem still exists.

I'm on Wicked V4 amd don't have this problem. Screen turns on and off as supposed to. I also have an Iloome Tempered Glass which covers the sensors with no issues. Have you tried doing a fresh install?

I had this issue on stock rom... ended up exchanging the phone as the prox sensors "stopped" responding for some reason.

I'm also running Wicked ROM (with native call recording). The only thing I noticed is that there's a noticeable delay for the screen to turn back on, but that's all.
Try waiting ~5 seconds and see if it turns on.
I have this issue too. I think it's call recording related.

I'm running Wicked, but do not have the problem you describe. Proximity sensor works as it should during calls.
