Dear all,
I just reinstalled Android Revolution 7.0.4 after the mainboard was replaced in repair. Before, this ROM ran just perfect, now it hangs on boot.
I have traced the boot process with adb logcat, and something seems to segfault during boot. Can anyone explain, why it worked before and why it doesn't work after the mainboard replacement?
Here is the part of the log, where the sefault occurs:

The HBoot which is linked from the install instructions in the Cyanogenmod wiki: http://cmw.cmfs.me/vision/hboot/vision.hboot-0.76.2000.zip
Well u have the wrong hboot that's why it won't boot. The one on there is the g2 hboot. U need the desire z hboot to run that ROM and most others
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/HTCG2/hboot/PC10IMG.zip
Just used this yesterday to change my hboot.
Just put the PC10IMG.zip on the root of our sdcard
boot into boot loader.
It will find the file yes to update. I believe it reboots back into boot loader in the middle of it.
When done yes to the option and that's it

Thanks so much! That did the trick! Apparently I had downloaded the wrong file. Now re-tried with http://cmw.cmfs.me/vision/hboot/vision.hboot-0.84.2000.zip, restored my Android Revolution backup (after wiping all partitions) and now it boots just fine! Thanks again!
No problem

Rooted my desire yesterday S-offed and everything was working fine. I attempted to flash a custom Rom and now all I recieve in the HTC screen. I have tryed installing several roms and nothing works. I can get into the recovery with no issues. Just I cannot get into any roms. Any Magix fixes I can try? Or should I just Fastboot and start over?
Edit. Fastboot doesnt work. But I can get into the CWM Recovery. Which is also the newest version.
And you always followed installation guides for all roms carefully (like sd card) and flashed version that corresponds with your hboot?

Yup Followed everything. I have done this all on my incredible 100 times. So I am aware of the steps to get Roms going.
Wiped all user data?
I just had this briefly with a Desire PVT4, had forgotten to wipe all user data prior to flashnig ROM's...?

Fastboot just has the bootloader option. Nothing for going back to stock. And were on the Stock HBOOT.
Correction Fastboot works just I cannot use it to go to stock. Is there any quick way to get to the stock image?
You can just download the zip from alpha rev put it on the SD card (not in a folder) re name it as PB99IMG start your phone with power and volume down and it will ask you if you want install it. P.s sorry if you knew this lol

I didnt know that! I shall give it a try and update on here and thank you if it works. What is Alpha Rev? A Devoloper or something?
You basically they specialize in s off, and recovery images etc. What sort of ROMs are you using? Cm7r2 is best for most Roms on the desire atm

How could you S-OFF your phone without hearing from AlphaRev?
That is a good point? But suppose you could miss it, it isn't the same site.

What do you want?
Oh what have I done...
Basically, after installing LeeDroid latest version 5.1.1 Gingerbread 2.3 (only have Radio s-off) a while ago, signal issues caused my to try and update the radio today to recommended version via GetRIL.
It wouldn't work correctly and I assumed that it was because I don't have Eng s-off for the radio install.
So, I tried to use the ENG s-off tool and got the message "HBOOT corrupt, do not reboot, go to XDA" and here I am...
I haven't tried to reboot the phone and it is still on as normal.
Have I buggered up the Hboot? what will happen if I try to reboot the phone and what should I do now? I'm worried.
Appreciate any help on this thanks.
(I have clockwordMod installed etc)
Anyone?
Please?

Was your phone shipped with gingerbread or froyo?

Im sure some were on the forum you will find the information to this and its about the fact that that is a normal message after using the tool and your Hboot is not corrupt.

Well, I'm not 100% but i think possibly froyo.
Why?
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda app-developers app
I have never used this tool but I know that if you flash a froyo bootloader on a gingerbread shipped device there will be problems.

Thanks for that. I'm pretty sure my first Gingerbread was when the GB LeeDroid came out.
I'm kinda in limbo at the moment. I don't normally reboot my phone for long periods of time unless it locks up or reboots itself. And I'm scared to reboot it now in case I have issues.
However, Is there something I should do to my device in preparation for the reboot? Or is there a way of checking to see if it was a froyo shipped device?
UPDATE:
If I open GetRIL now (after trying to flash the ENG s-off tool) it says "No permission, Features that requires a rooted device, Superuser and Busybox has been disabled"
Looks like something has happened
I still haven't rebooted. I just want to know:
If I reboot and I have a problem, should I do something before I reboot the phone? i.e.
Put a RUU on the SD card
OR a PD98IMG.zip stock ROM or something?
Is there no way I can check the condition of the Boot Loader without rebooting the phone or booting into recovery?
Virgin Mobile HTC One V (CDMA/primoc)
2.3.3 twrp recovery working fine
Unlocked with HTC dev
***unlocked*** (in boot loader)
Flashed su then gapps 4.1 then Pacman ROM
Error can't format SD ext (don't think this is a problem but hey just in case)
When the phone reboots it stays at the boot animation for the ROM. I've tried a couple other ROMs to no avail. I also left it with the boot animation over night just to make sure it wasn't just taking a long time. I have also been searching the internet for a RUU to at least get the phone working again. I've also been reading the xda forums and I think it might have something to do with my radios (like version 1.0.0...) I'm not totally inexperienced in android rooting (I'm currently using my HTC Evo V 3d s-off rooted with Gangamstlye ROM) but any help would be much appreciated!
I am able to access twrp recovery and can use adb with fastboot still - only my one v won't get past the boot animation

If it's a new phone you will most likely need to run the RUU but you should go in this order when flashing a ROM.
Extract the kernel from the rom
Boot into recovery
FULL WIPE
Flash ROM
Boot into bootloader
Flash boot.img through fastboot ( fastboot flash boot boot.img )
Install 4.1.2 Gapps
I have tried reflashing in that order and it still didn't work :/ Do you know where I could get a RUU?

And your bootloader is unlocked? Also, you're flashing the ROM zip from recovery first, then flashing the boot.img from fastboot, right?
Yeah bootloader is unlocked, and I might have done it the other way round I'll try that.

In that case I would suggest that you flash a RUU and see if that works. You will need to relock the bootloader for that.
Well going to give it another shot before I do your suggestion on the RUU, I'll let you no how it goes

When switching ROMs it is pretty much always necessary to clear the /data partition before booting the new ROM. I didn't see you mention that you'd done this anywhere (sorry if I missed it).

Then it might me a motherboard overheating problem.
Take your battery out. Then put the phone in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Then try to boot. Does it restart?
I'll try that at night as soon as possible..ill post the result..thanks for the suggestion..keep it in plastic bag and then in freezer right?

Yes, but keep the bag in the freezer first, or else water may form if there's hot air inside.
Tried it..put it for 15 min, waited 5 min to avoid fog and water over screen and backside, but still no response..still rebooting from logo..tried installing PB99IMG AGAIN but no change..starting to lose hope on my Desire..
