Might be a radio brick.
Try flashing the 2.3 RUU. Does it succeed?

Then it might me a motherboard overheating problem.
Take your battery out. Then put the phone in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Then try to boot. Does it restart?
I'll try that at night as soon as possible..ill post the result..thanks for the suggestion..keep it in plastic bag and then in freezer right?

Yes, but keep the bag in the freezer first, or else water may form if there's hot air inside.
Tried it..put it for 15 min, waited 5 min to avoid fog and water over screen and backside, but still no response..still rebooting from logo..tried installing PB99IMG AGAIN but no change..starting to lose hope on my Desire..

Then it might be a different hardware issue. In other words, start looking for a new phone.

Boot in to hboot or fastboot and clear storage. If that doesn't work send it back.

Hi guys, just got a dhd from a friend, he was on stock Rom and his phone recently refused to boot up, when he turns it on it goes to operator splash screen and then to HTC logo but then restarts, it never gets any further, its just a constant cycle, I thought I may have been able to root and install a new Rom , I can get into recovery using volume and power but because I can't enable USB debugging I'm stuck, can anyone help me, I don't know what I can do with it, thanks guys

Are you S-OFF? Do you have a custom recovery installed? If so, since you can get into recovery, just flash a new ROM.
No, its not s off and its just the HTC recovery I can get into, I have tried recovery and factory reset and its still the same problem

Can you boot into bootloader?
Do you got htc drivers installed?
Do you got adb installed?
Can your computer find your phone while in bootloader?
I have HTC drivers, don't have adb, sorry but I don't know what you mean by bootloader ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Bootloader is the same as HBoot. It's the interference you boot into when you boot with power + Volume down.
Yes, sorry, I can get into bootloader but its the stock HTC one ?

Have you tried running a RUU?
It's branded and I can't find a ruu with my operator that's more up to date, is there any way I can root it without turning the phone on and getting into settings ?

No. If you want to get some help, then start providing information...what carrier is your DHD branded for? Do you remember what Version of android you had?
I guess you will have to make a goldcard and then flash an unbranded RUU.
Hello everyone.. My friend's desire stuck at HTC logo, nd it doesn't go any further.. It's un rooted, and s - on..can u please guide me how to solve it. Or any useful links are welcome... Thanks in advance..

Try flashing the 2.3 ruu in my sig. All your data will be lost, but at least the phone will be working.
Put the zip on the root of your sd-card, boot in bootloader (vol down+power button) then select yes when prompted.
Silly question may be.. So no need to connect to computer or need to be rooted? I'll try it today.. Thanks

No need.
I did as u said, but it shows radio_v2 failed=PU, AND nd lastly update failed..others like splash etc shows ok.. My hboot changed from 0.93 to 1.02.0001and still problem persist.. Now radio is 5.11.05.27, what happened? Now it's boot looping with HTC logo and 5vibrations every time.. Plz tell me how to solve it..
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Ok...now we know why it was bootlooping in the first place. You have a radio brick. A radio brick is a kind a brick that we can't do anything about. Somehow, your radio got corrupted.
You will need to send it to a service.
But it's not boot looping before flashing that ruu.. I can't send it to service as it's bought in USA, he is using it in India.. Is there any alternative?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
The only thing you could do is trying to flash the ruu a lot of times, hoping that it will eventually work.
Same ruu or anything else?? Does that ruu work for any radio or is it selective for my radio??
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
You could try other ruu's, but you'll need a goldcard if your phone is branded. Check out bortaks guide for other ruu's.
The 2.3 ruu is the only one that doesn't need a goldcard, cause it's not branded.
I saw a ruu with same radio number as mine.. And it's in wwe format.. Can I download it and get its ruu? I'll try ur ruu some more times..
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
You could try the wwe.
Dear all,
I just reinstalled Android Revolution 7.0.4 after the mainboard was replaced in repair. Before, this ROM ran just perfect, now it hangs on boot.
I have traced the boot process with adb logcat, and something seems to segfault during boot. Can anyone explain, why it worked before and why it doesn't work after the mainboard replacement?
Here is the part of the log, where the sefault occurs:

The HBoot which is linked from the install instructions in the Cyanogenmod wiki: http://cmw.cmfs.me/vision/hboot/vision.hboot-0.76.2000.zip
Well u have the wrong hboot that's why it won't boot. The one on there is the g2 hboot. U need the desire z hboot to run that ROM and most others
http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/HTCG2/hboot/PC10IMG.zip
Just used this yesterday to change my hboot.
Just put the PC10IMG.zip on the root of our sdcard
boot into boot loader.
It will find the file yes to update. I believe it reboots back into boot loader in the middle of it.
When done yes to the option and that's it

Thanks so much! That did the trick! Apparently I had downloaded the wrong file. Now re-tried with http://cmw.cmfs.me/vision/hboot/vision.hboot-0.84.2000.zip, restored my Android Revolution backup (after wiping all partitions) and now it boots just fine! Thanks again!
No problem

And your bootloader is unlocked? Also, you're flashing the ROM zip from recovery first, then flashing the boot.img from fastboot, right?
Yeah bootloader is unlocked, and I might have done it the other way round I'll try that.

In that case I would suggest that you flash a RUU and see if that works. You will need to relock the bootloader for that.
Well going to give it another shot before I do your suggestion on the RUU, I'll let you no how it goes

When switching ROMs it is pretty much always necessary to clear the /data partition before booting the new ROM. I didn't see you mention that you'd done this anywhere (sorry if I missed it).
