Luckily I see this thread. I also accidently uninstall launcher and the home screen become blank. The method u give is work, but the phone must be in situation still connect to internet.
I wonder if the phone not able to connect to internet at that time , then how to do? Can push the launcher apk from computer ?
If you have a signal(mobile or wifi) this should work...
both mobile and wifi are off.
Problem solved now!! Thanks for the help!
I sent the apk file from martket.android.com
and turned on the wifi!! only the display was not there, everything was like before, so i just imitated and pressed the correct button lol!
i have the same problem
i have the same problem now
but i use defy data manager so it can't download on 3g and i can't push it from the market to my phone
i want any launcher in zip format
if anyone has the official stock launcher that'd be great
pepo36: restart phone to recovery and reinstall CM from SD card. You will not lose any data.
i dont have CM
i have the stock rom installed and this is why i was removing Go launcher to get back my stock launcher but for some reason the stock launcher is missing
any other ideas ?
i have clockwork recovery and i can install a zip from sd card....i'm trying to search for any launcher i can setup through recovery only to be able to use my phone
you may read this thread ,some one with the same problem and able to solve it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1533648
if you have stock rom in recovery mode flash the file http://bit.ly/Blur3D
Is there anyway I can add a option or widget which actually shut down my arc S and then reboot automatically. I had this option when I used a
custom ROM. Now I'm back on stock ROM and I miss that feature.
In the market I found Fast reboot . Is this app effective / safe ?
Quick reboot app seems to do restart the phone so suddenly like removing the battery !! which makes me kinda paranoid
Only if you're rooted... There are themes available which have reboot option.
Not sure about apps in the play store never used them

Hi mate,
Here's a reboot widget that was altered to make look like an xperia widget. I've used it before, it works perfectly. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736799
Another option for you is if you want to install the xperia s lockscreen : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1748622
Just make sure that you actually flash the reboot .zip. It also adds a 30 step volume choice. (I couldn't live without it now )
I am trying to change the lockscreen wallpaper on my stock, unlocked, rooted Optimus G, and it's not working.. It used to work, but over the past month or so it has not worked.. I go to the Settings app, then to Lock Screen, then to Wallpaper, and change it, but it stays the same as the current one I have, it never changes..
Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks

Same thing happened to me. Follow along and see what helped me (YMMV):
I. If you are running a 3rd party launcher:
1. Reset to stock LG launcher:
System Settings --> Home screen --> Select Home --> select "Home"
2. Clear Lock Screen Cache:
System Settings --> Apps --> All --> Lock Screen Settings --> Force stop --> Clear cache
3. Choose Lock Screen photo:
System Settings --> Lock Screen --> Wallpaper --> make your choice and crop as necessary
4. Profit
5. Go back to your 3rd party launcher:
System Settings --> Home screen --> Select Home --> select your launcher
II. If you are already running stock LG launcher, follow steps 2-4.

Tried this using steps 2-4 (running lifeless with lg stock launcher) and after I force stop the lockscreen, i don't get the option to clear cache... It remains greyed out. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yep that's exactly what happens with me.. Also the steps did not solve my problem..So the weird thing for me is that if I change the wallpaper to a wallpaper that came with the phone, the lockscreen wallpaper changes just fine, but if I go to change it to something custom, the wallpaper just switches back to a really old one I had a long time ago and doesn't allow me to change it to a new custom one...

My guess... Only a guess now but try two things... Check the properties of the stock papers and try downloading other papers with alike specs and maybe using a root file browser dig into your fines and find where the stock papers are stirred then copy then into that folder

I looked into doing that, but apparently the stock wallpapers are stored in the LGLauncher.apk or something, so I would have to extract the wallpapers from that, and obviously I can't easily add wallpapers to that...

The wallpapers that come stock on the phone are stored in two places. LGHome3.apk for the launcher and LockScreenSettings.apk for the lockscreen. Why they are in both places who knows, but it is kind of a pain to change them. Something that worked for me when getting this problem was doing a factory reset in TWRP, although that was stock based ROMS and not on the original stock. Worth a try if you haven't already.

I could only suggest clearing cache first, then force stopping. Maybe also try a reboot before trying to change the wallpaper.
Also, I am not running a custom ROM. I'm rooted an unlocked still running stock just FYI. Don't know if that might make a difference. I saw PartimusPrime is running Lifeless.

Yeah the weird part is it doesn't give me a cache to clear... I tried going back to my original stock rom and the lockscreen wallpaper changed without issues... Lifeless for some reason doesn't want to change it.

Glad you were able to get it fixed  though at the expense of something else.
Maybe the creator of Lifeless can look into it.

The problem is probably a permissions issue with the .jpg files that the lockscreen settings replace with the image you choose.
I can't remember the location, but digging around in /data for "lg settings" or "lockscreen" folder for the .jpg files and changing the permissions to writable will fix it.

Okay so I found the wallpaper located at the following path:
/data/user/0/com.lge.lockscreensettings/wallpaper.png
This .PNG was the lock screen wallpaper that wouldn't even change, the custom one. I changed the permissions to allow everything and I was able to change it! So go to that path, go to the properties of the wallpaper.png and change the permissions and it'll work.

Hello members
I had a little fit this morning after my screen lock did not lock the screen. Nova Launcher pushed through an update as well as Google yesterday. Anyway, I thought it must be Nova, so I tried to uninstall instead of switching to Goole Launcher. The uninstall option was not available so I went to Titanium App and deleted Nova Launcher. What a stupid idea that was.
So I am stuck in bootloop and cannot get onto the home screen. I made an install zip file with an earlier Nova Launcher to install through TWRP. It said install successful though no change. Still bootloop.
Is anyone here who would have time and could help me ? Thanks
ROM is ArchiDroid V3.1.5

Guys, i tried to install the G5 launcher from apk mirror (https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/lgelectronics/homeux-4-0/), there was an error or something and now i can only select Easy Home as launcher. The Home&App Drawer (stock G4 Launcher) is no longer compatible and can't select it. I dont even understand how this could happen because i dont have root and my phone is stock.
Also i cant just uninstall updates for Launcher because there is not this option. I dont know hot to go back without a factory reset and that would be time consuming.
Do you guys mind to post the Stock G4 Launcher apk here so i can give it a try ?
