I accidently uninstalled adw launcher on cm7 without installing other launchers...

Now u know theres no home screen now.. so dont tell me to download it frm the market or to install it from .apk file..
I just need a .zip file for any launcher so that i can install it frm the recovery..
or just flash cm7 again
Install the apk file and then use it...............sense launcher is good too............try that

Luckily I see this thread. I also accidently uninstall launcher and the home screen become blank. The method u give is work, but the phone must be in situation still connect to internet.
I wonder if the phone not able to connect to internet at that time , then how to do? Can push the launcher apk from computer ?
If you have a signal(mobile or wifi) this should work...
both mobile and wifi are off.

I sent the apk file from martket.android.com
and turned on the wifi!! only the display was not there, everything was like before, so i just imitated and pressed the correct button lol!

pepo36: restart phone to recovery and reinstall CM from SD card. You will not lose any data.

i have the stock rom installed and this is why i was removing Go launcher to get back my stock launcher but for some reason the stock launcher is missing

Hi , I have installed ProjectAndroid2.2Froyo.110110.cab and after boot up , it says 'This version of LauncherPro has expired' .
With this problem , I can do anything for the Android even enter the 'setting' .
Any buddy can help me figure out what's the problem is ?

just go to launcherpro.com on ur phone and download the latest update apk file then install it when finished downloading and make sure to check under settings and applications unknows sources b4 u install

i don't think he will be able to do that because he said it won't launch so he can't even get past the expired screen on android, i had that issue and wasn't able to upadte to the newer launcher.
What i did was in windows look for another kind of launcher like open home and make sure it is in .apk format, then you go to your storage card and go to the andboot folder/Androidapps folder and put the file here. Before you run haret click on the right soft key and choose apps. Look for the launcher you downloaded and put a check by it then run haret. when android boots up it's going to ask which launch you want to use and you select the new one. Then i would install Titanium back up if you don't already have it and uninstall launchpro then do the upgrade posted above.

I have the Htc Desire android 2.1 with launcher pro. I loved it until recently it is showing that Launcher Pro has expired & it won't allow me to do anything. I restarted the phone, took out the battery but nothing seems to work. I am basically locked out because I trusted this product. Please help me out here, I would appreciate it. Again, htc Desire 2.1,launcher pro free version saying expired & opening up the browser only. I can't do anything else & I can't reboot as I would lose my contacts & data.
I tried looking at the solutions provided over the internet but nothing suits my situation. A lot of those solutions work for android 2.2 but I have 2.1 which I cannot update right now. Please help me people.

First of all that is not a brick. Second can you get in to settings? If yes, got to application management go to launcherpro and clear the defaults hit the home button and select the Sense launcher or download 'ClearDefaultHome' and clear the defaults. If that does not work you can do a factory reset but you will lose all your data.
And last where did you get that version of launcher pro? From the market?

I'm having exactly the same problem - My version of Launcher pro was downloaded from the Android Market and has worked fine until this morning when it expired.
My phone will not let me access my home screen or any of my applications. When I press 'Home' it just takes me to my browser which contains an error message stating 'You do not have permission to access /index.php on this server. Additionall, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request'.
As I cannot access my home screen, I am unable to access my settings in order to manage my applications and uninstall Launcher Pro... Starting to panic now!
Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Erm, your phone is not bricked.
Well the way i see it,
1) you could email the maker of launcher pro and explain your situation, though I think its more of a user error
2) Do what TheGhost1233 said, try to go into your settings, and select clear default on launcher pro app. Use htc sense again.
3) factory reset everything and set up everything once again
4) root and flash a new rom (Its more fun )
edit* For people who can't access their settings, try downloading another app that allows you to change settings.
If a factory reset is a to big of a step you could also try to remover launcherpro (in recovery) via ADB.

I have the exact same problem as described by the other person in this thread of not being able to anything but just go to the browser which I cannot use because wifi is not enabled and cannot be because I can't access anything.
I bought the launcher pro from the android market and it was a free version which I have been using for months now. I seriously want to avoid the factory reset thing until I can because I do not want to lose the data. If I have to then I will but just trying to see if I can avoid it somehow. Nothing seems to be working now.

No it won't root your phone but you will run in to the problem that your phone probably does not have USB debugging enabled.
But i suggest you follow the linked thread (the launcherpro forums) for further help.
I do not obviously want to run into any kind of problems. What do you suggest then. This is not something that I am choosing, I did not find any other options. Please suggest what would be my options given my situation. I am not a nerd so I do not know if I will be able to do all this installation thing properly or not. This was kind of a relief that this would not root my phone. I don't know why I am afraid of it but I really like the handset and I don't want it to be screwed because of anything.

Thanks, I wish I could use the browser to use the internet but the wifi is disabled and I cannot reach into my settings to enable it.

Yes, that's right. It was a free version that I have downloaded from the android market.
idk if some of you are still having the same problem but if you are, i got this from another forum and it seemed to work for them:
Hold down the 'home' key in order to start your native task manager.
You should see the Settings icon, probably in the bottom right, of your tasks.
If you don't see Settings, double-tap your Home key in order to open Voice Dialing. When it opens, say 'Open Settings.'
Once you're in Settings, go to Applications, and remove LauncherPro.

Hey, I tried doing all this except for the download thing but it does not work. I cannot download anything because wifi is disabled and there is no way I can enable it. If I could have had a back up of my data I would have probably tried the hard reset.

the download worked for my cousin.
when she held the home button it opens the most recent apps. and she had the browser there. she opened up the broswer and typed that in. and it worked now she has adw launcher.
I was using sgs tools, and I updated my touchwiz launcher, but now my gps will not find my location... I was told I need to return to the stock launcher, but i cannot find it anywhere and when i go into sgs tools in my sd card and try to got to restore launcher, it only wants to open in to a document form....
anyone know how to get back to original launcher?
GPS has absolutely nothing to do with the launcher. Uninstall SGS Tools, and wipe data. If you still can't get a location, Odin.

ok so i deleted sgs tools... now? lol....
Same thing happened to me too. First I changed back to the original setting in SGSTools (american pool), then rebooted. Installed and ran "GPS Aids" from market, and now it works again.
ive searched the forums...ive searched google and even manual for the HTC One V and i cannot for the life of me find a thing on how to (or where to) install themes ive downloaded and installed onto the device??

There is nothing called 'themes'! Is there? If you're not using any launcher, then in HTC Sense 4.0, we have to go to the HTC Hub and download themes/skins (as far as I know). And if you're using a launcher such as Apex, you'll have to go to the Play Store and download themes and they automatically get installed! Then where's the point of 'where to install themes?'
If you've downloaded the APK Theme Files of some launcher, then you just need to copy them to the SD Card and run and install them. Then it will be displayed in the corresponding launcher. :^)
It'll be better if you specify the extension of the theme files you've downloaded and the launcher you're using.

i DL'd them from a site and yea, they are APK files. Ill install onto SDcard and see if it can launch it?

Well, you cant install any 3rd party themes in the stock rom. For that, you need to be running on custom roms (like CM9 based roms), even then, the themes have to be resolution specific.
The only way to customize the appearance of your OS is via Settings --> Personalize. There are a bunch of themes available ( not very beautiful though.)

pls be generous enough to share from where u got themes (dont say they are live wallpapers)
to get into sdcard use xplore file manager by lcg or the es file explorer .....!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just to clear the confusion here,
If you are not rooted and are using the stock HTC Sense ROM without any 3rd party launchers then the only themes that you can use are the ones in the HTC hub.
If you do not wish to root but wanna install themes, i suggest you install Go Launcher, Apex or any other 3rd party launcher that is available in the play store, themes for these will also be available there.:good:
i think it was the play store i DLd to my PC then installed onto SDcard on device.
as it stands, it is using HTC stuff....i have no idea how to get a "launcher", i dont know a thing of "rooting"

click the button "install"
once you click it, it will ask you for a gmail account
use the same gmail account that you have used on your one v (assuming that you are connected to 2g/3g or WIFI from your phone)
once it accepts the credentials.
the download will start on your PHONE, there is no way to dl an app to your pc via play store.
you dont have to worry about installing it, once it is dl'd it will auto install
try to learn how this launcher works, use it for a few days, if you are not satisfied then you can give other launchers a go using play store app from your phone or using your browser to go to https://play.google.com/store

i havent installed any custom ROM i just rooted my phone to download some apps then as i browse the ROM toolbox i tried the Theme Manager installed a theme, i knew to myself i load a backup file. the theme wasnt worked on my phone because it says i need to have CM7 but i dont wanna try installing it because i wasnt knowledgeable about those stuff.
anyway my problem is the theme didnt worked, it worked on some stuff like the status bar, and now when i was about to restore my previous setting my backup file was gone!
how am i going to change back my settings? my phone looks worst. help me.
