[Q] Help - NO Mobile Network with Three UK - HTC One X

I have an unlocked AT&T HTC One X which has worked flawlessly all over the world - I have just put in a sim card everywhere I have gone and no problems.
Now on returning to UK, I got a Three micro sim card. The voice calls, SMS and Wi-Fi work but not mobile internet. The status bar shows 4G but under settings "Mobile Network" shows "disconnected" even though the button is on. Its driving me mad. I have been to Three website and manually changed the APN but still no luck.
Thanks for any help!
Joe

No service?

This is a weird one.
Just bought a Desire HD, the guy said it was unlocked. It come with a Orange sim card inside. It had a signal.
I took it out and stuck my giffgaff sim card in there and it says no signal, not "network locked".
So i tried texting my mate, and it sent some how after saying that it had no signal. So sometime later i get a reply saying "Sup" from him.
It still says no signal. I tried another giffgaff sim and that also says no signal. i tried a Tesco mobile sim and that says no signal.
And somehow, without the wifi on, it downloaded a htc update.
I then tried the original Orange sim and it still works.
What the heck is happening?
Thanks

Sounds almost as if it's network locked, or that the data network is set to use orange only Settings>Wireless & Networks > Mobile networks >network operators. If that doesnt work you could always try the advanced ace hack kit (Google it, as it's no longer available on XDA) to give you super CID which will allow it to work with any network.

Ive tried choosing 02 UK as the operator and it says "Your sim card doesnt allow connection to this network"
Now, I don't get this. I'm replying to this from my Desire that says "emergency calls only" without the WiFi on and not connected to anything. What the heck????

Yes it is rooted. Well, it wasnt but it is now.
Bump.
My DHD is running:
Android 2.3.5
Sense Version 3.0
Software number 3.12.405.1
Kernel version:
2.6.35.10-g931a37e
[email protected] #1
Wed Nov 9 14:04:03 CST 2011
Baseband version:
3.12.405.1 CL199157 release-keys
And it still says no signal with my giffgaff sim. But works fine with an Orange sim card.
Ive unlocked the bootloader just via the HTCDev site.
Please help...
Thanks
If you unlocked the bootloader to flash roms, relock it and unroot using the ace hack kit. It's going to save you a lot of trouble.
Regarding your giffgaff sim, no idea.
Google to see if there is a way to find out if you are actually sim unlocked.

I wanted to try and flash anither radio to see if my giffgaff sim would work then, will it make a difference?

silly question but have you set the APN correctly ??????
noticed your already getting assisted on GG forums why do you need multiple forum assist ????
I need multiple forum assists as i dont know if it to do with the network and my sim or the phone.
The APN is set correctly, my phone shows no signal, all the time, with a giffgaff sim inserted.
But the very strange thing is that, sometimes it will let me use the internet. And i am not connected to wifi?
Ive contacted htc with my problem and they just said hard reset, which didnt change anything.
Still have the same problem...
And i cant find any solution...
Can anybody help me!?
Bump!??!?!?!?!
Have you tested a different sim on your phone? Does it work?
Have you tested your sim in another phone? Does it work?
Who do you think you should contact?

Decided im gonna sell this DHD and maybe get another one.
No one has helped me with it so im guessing no one has had this problem. Ive tried everything, so the phone is going on ebay.

[Q] HTC Desire A8181 won't connect to AT&T?

I recently purchased a used HTC Desire A8181 from a coworker who had purchased it while in England. I purchased a straight talk sim for it and while I waited for the sim to arrive, I rooted, s-off'd and installed Cyanogenmod 7 on it. The sim arrived and I can not get it to connect reliably to AT&T's network, more often than not it show's no network available, and when I would do a search for network it would fail telling me there was an error while searching. When it would connect, it would not make or receive phone calls. Hoping for the best, I flashed everything back to stock, but I have the exact same issues. I can take the sim card and put it into a HTC Desire Z and it works... I'm guessing the radio is probably FUBAR, I'm hoping someone can tell me otherwise and how to fix it.
Here's the info on the phone (like I said, back to stock):
BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-ON

I would really appreciate any help. I do like this phone and would like to use it. If there is anything else I need to post please let me know.

See if you have the correct APN configured. Of not configure it manualy.
Also, try some other sim card from a different carrier.

Thanks for the quick reply!
I just plugged the sim back into the phone, the correct APN is configured for straighttalk. I'm looking at the phone, it says it's connected to a carrior (4 bars) but when I try to dial, I can hear the tones when pressing the numbers but when I hit dial it's dead silent. It won't ring the other phone sitting next to me, and I can't call it either, goes straight to voicemail. Under Network it says:
Operator Name
HOME
Signal strength:
-85 dBm 14 asu
Mobile netowrk type
EDGE
Service state:
In service
Roaming:
Not roaming
I'll look into another sim card, most people I know around here use Verizon so...

HTC One's MVNO Setting

Hey guys, I'm wondering if anyone know how to access the MVNO setting (mobile virtual network operator type) within APN of the HTC One M8.
I live in Australia and currently on the Virgin Mobile Network which is a MVNO of Optus. I was on a M7 and recently bought a M8 off a friend for cheap. However when I have installed the nano SIM, I can only make calls and texts and could not get the internet to work even when the APN settings are correct. I took it to the Virgin Mobile store and they have also tried playing around with the APN settings with no luck.
The odd thing is that when I remove the SIM card and place it in another phone it doesn't work on the other phone either . But when I try place a SIM card from another carrier (Telstra) into my M8 it works fine. Virgin Mobile has issued me a new nano SIM and I did the same tests and got the same results which is really odd. Virgin Mobile has also checked on their system and confirmed to me that internet is ACTIVE.
I've been reading around and the only other solution I can think of is accessing the MVNO setting and changing in to IMSI in hope it works. If anyone could please tell me how to access MVNO on the M8 it would be much appreciated.
Network: Virgin Mobile
Phone is SIM unlocked
Bootloader unlocked, S-OFF and Super CID
ROM: Android revolution HD 21.0
Firmware : 3.28.401.7
Most likely you need a different radio...

I just checked on my phone under mobile networks > APNs and at the very bottom I get the option to choose the MVNO type and value, so the only thing I can suggest is making a twrp backup of your current arhd and flashing another rom with that option (since it's not appearing on the one you're using).
The rom I'm on right now is Dirty Unicorns.
I think you might be on to something

I need to try to this my imei number is no goodfrom the previous owner whofiled it lost when he thought it had been stolen yet lucky me it showed up a day after he the replacement did for the HTC One Max????? (HTC6600LVW) yet I am sticking with my Galaxy Note 3 as the 200 difference from the CPU is a great deal when being held next to each other... So I've decided to sell it to my roommate who uses metro pcs told her to buy an unlock pin for her SIM card to work. I read about rooting the phones but being that it is not mine I'm not lying to the poor girl am I?

MMS Failures when connected to wifi, but still connected to Mobile Data

I've been having an issue ever since upgrading my M9 to Android 6.0. The issue is that when I'm connected to a wifi network, my MMS stops working. Calls and SMS function properly, but it seems like it's not handing off MMS to the mobile data network when wifi is enabled & connected.
I'm on the Cricket (AT&T) network.
The Software Information of my phone is as follows:
Android: 6.0
HTC Sense: 7.0
Software Number: 3.35.617.12
Kernel Version:
3.10.84-perf-g340e3c6
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT
Baseband version:
01.01_U11440792_97.00.51203G_F
Build Number:
3.35.617.12 CL669696 release-keys
Android Security Patch Level:
2015-12-01
These are the things, I've tried so far.
I verified APN settings. The APN that I had set previously became uneditable (lock symbol next to it), so I created a new one with the Cricket settings with the same issue.
I booted into safe mode to see if a 3rd party application was causing an issue after the update.
I performed a factory reset and tested before installing/upgrading any applications.
I tried my wife's SIM card in my phone, which didn't work on my phone. Her phone is working, but she has a Moto X 2015 Pure
I've called HTC support, but all they could tell me is that the hand-off should work, and that an engineer would call me to debug more in depth. This didn't happen though.

I did this, but still having the same issue. I tested with the stock messages app as well as Google messenger.
Download chompSMS or Textra...great messaging apps, and they have settings that take care of this issue.
What happens if you are out of wifi range and send yourself a picture message?.

With it set up correctly, it will ALWAYS switch to mobile data whenever you try to send a picture (i.e., MMS) message...that's exactly what you want.

HTC 10 partial vodafone network registration

I have and HTC 10 from Taiwan, which I use in Netherlands. This was working well until the upgrade to Android 7.0. Since then, I get only partial network registration on Vodafone NL.
Nature of the problem:
- Calls and 4g work, SMS does not work.
- Menu selections in calls ("dial 1 for ...", etc.) does not work.
- After coming back from flight mode, calls work, but 4g only works after phone reboot.
- No display of cellular network signal strength.
- Network settings does not show information on cellular network.
- Phone identity does not show IMEI.
Other aspects:
- When roaming in any other country in Europe, there is no problem.
- SIM card of different network (T-Mobile for example) works fine.
I have called both Vodafone NL and HTC NL. Vodafone refers to HTC, which I believe is correct. HTC admitted after some time that there were some complaints, but have not offered any solution so far.
My question is if this is a problem that can be solved on the phone as it is, or should I install a different ROM version?
My current (stock) ROM version is 2.41.709.7 and I have friends in NL with a different (stock) ROM version which works fine, but these are NL phones and I have a TW version which I am not sure if there is any risk for HW incompatibility.
Thanks.
